When I first started exercising on a regular basis running was the one exercise that would make my heart rate shoot up like no other. I just figured it was because I was extremely out of shape and it would get better. I work out at a pretty high intensity and feel like I am in good shape and running STILL gets my heart…

SAHM to a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I either get up at 4:30 and go to a local 5am boot camp or I go for a jog after I drop my 5 year old off at school and put the 2 year old in a jogging stroller. I also walk my son to and from school so that adds about 2 miles of walking to my day. You just have to find a time that…

Knees. I have to put a pillow between my legs when I sleep at night because my knee caps knock together and hurt - BAD! I also can't sleep on my left side anymore because it hurts my hip bone.

I was on WW too until a friend of mine told me about MFP. I have been maintaining on MFP for a little over a year and I love it! It is much less confusing than the points system in my opinion. Although I have been in maintenance mode for the past 14 months I am still very active and log my food and exercise every day. Feel…

Circuit Training, general? Or invest in a heart rate monitor if you can. I can't live without mine!

No. I recently went on a road trip over labor day weekend. I ended up driving around 12 hours over 2 days (my husband drove the other 12). I actually set my activity level to "sedentary" for those two days since I wasn't doing anything except sitting on my *kitten* for 24 hours.

I have days like that too. Now that I'm focusing on being in the best shape possible I over analyze and critique myself way too much. I was just telling my husband last night that when I was 100 pounds heavier I felt smaller than I do now sometimes! I think I was in total denial about how big I had gotten. Now that I have…

I've been in maintenance mode for about 14 months. I don't think I'll ever stop logging though. This is the first thing I have tried that actually works with maintenance! It's so easy to slip back into old habits when I'm not tracking.

My younger sister got married 3 and a half months after me and it didn't bother me. My parents on the other hand were a little strapped for cash that year. My older sister announced her engagement at my college graduation party, that annoyed me a bit but what can you do? It sounds like you are trying to be…

Thanks for the input everyone!

I go over my protein every day, even being a vegetarian! If you want you can go in and customize your percentages for fat, carbs and protein then you wouldn't have to see that dreaded negative red number every day. :-)

This diet has been around for ages (I tried it in the 80's!). It's awful. Steer clear. The ONLY thing that works for weight loss (if you want to keep it off) is patience and persistence.

Hard boiled eggs, edamame, protein shakes, Clif Builder's Bars (20g per bar!), tuna

I lost my first 60 pounds just walking. It's the most underestimated exercise out there! My guess is that once you become more fit you will want to add more to your work-outs but walking is a great first step! Now I jog, strength train and do strenuous boot camp as well as walking my son to and from school every day. (It's…

I work out at 5am as well and rarely eat anything before hand. On rare occasions I may eat a banana but that's it. I do a boot camp that is very intense then have a protein shake when I get home. I just don't have an appetite that early in the morning and I get up as late as I possibly can to make the class. I think it's a…

Could you PLEASE send this to my Mother and sister so they stop buying clothes for me in the Jr's department?!? Seriously. Every birthday and Christmas I am constantly being given shirts and pajamas from the Jr's section. The second I unwrap the gift they say something along the lines of "this really looked like you and…

Hi! I've been a stay at home Mom for a little over 5 years. I have two kids ages 5 and 2. It was a big adjustment for me to go from working full time to being at home. I had a major identity crisis! Don't get me wrong, I feel very fortunate that I am able to be home with them while they're little and growing and changing…

Thank you! Guess higher.

That my BMI was in the "obese" range because I was more muscular than the average woman. Like I was some sort of professional athlete or something!

Just click on the person's profile and click "add as friend" you can add a personal message to them as well.

You can do it! Just don't forget to have patience and persistence and all your hard work will pay off. I speak from personal experience. After my son was born 5 years ago I decided I no longer wanted to be the obese person I had become. I wanted to set a good example for him and be around long enough to see him grow up. It…

Hard Boiled Egg.

There is absolutely nothing magic about it. It's a protein shake and like all the other protein shakes out there it has it's pros and cons. I have been taking it for breakfast for almost a year now. The only reason I did is because my Boot Camp instructor is a distributor and in order to grow his "business" he set up his…

One of the few downsides to being fit. If you want to keep the girls you usually have to pay for them.

I have two kids and I get up at 4:30am to go to a 5am boot camp. I'm usually back home before anyone at my house is awake. It never gets any easier to get out of bed that early but I never regret going. Dragging myself out of bed is the hardest part of my work-out!

Everything from the waist up. Still working on my lower half.

I have 2. Both were planned and they are 3 years and 4 months apart. With my first I was obese when I got pregnant (197 pounds) when I gave birth to him I was 233! The pregnancy weight came off in 3 months without me doing anything. Then I decided that I no longer wanted to be the obese person I had become and by his first…

Can't post my before but my profile pic. was taken about a month ago. I have a 5 year old and 2 year old. I have lost 100 pounds. My secret exercise exercise exercise! :)
