I have 3 friends who have hypothyroidism and they all have said, that blaming an extreme weight gain on hypothyroidism is unrealistic. You will have some weight gain but it adds up over time...not the massive weight packed on in a short period. As for the weight loss after taking pills, it's the same thing. Slow and steady…

Will power and determination works wonders---and it's FREE, no prescription needed, BUT be warned--serious side effects include: reaching your goals.

Enter the 55 minutes as you are not accounting for the other factors (extra weight, etc). Also keep in mind that these calories burned numbers and calories consumed are just estimates and meant as a guideline not a tit for tat kind of thing. Keep enjoying your hikes. I love doing things with my children.

I do my workouts whenever I can fit it in. But morning workouts are great because it gets my day started the off on the right foot. I feel great through out the day. Plus, I am at my strongest and well rested.

Agreed! P90x is NO JOKE. People should be somewhat fit before trying to start those programs. There's a fitness test that one should take before they start these programs. Good tip!

I'm 5'1" and right now my goal is 120-125 BUT that may change if I get to that weight and I still have lots of fat to burn off. I don't want to just be thin, I want to look fit/toned.

I absolutely LOVE my homemade chicken sweet potato chili. So yummy and only 257 calories per serving. It's a complete meal with good protein and carbs.

Take every opportunity to nap/sleep if you are able. Sleep/rest is just as important. It will definitely not be detrimental to your fitness journey.

Disagree. Eating your calories back is an excuse to eat--per my trainer/nutritionist.

Sounds yummy! I would use real bacon over turkey bacon as it is higher in sodium. Use less but use the good stuff :)

Stay away from processed foods and you will find that it is VERY easy to stay within your calorie count.

I do weights then cardio because I want my strength training to be great and don't want to be worn out doing lifting weights. Lifting weights while fatigued usually leads to bad form and not getting the reps that you want.

Agreed!!!

First and foremost--- NEVER NEVER NEVER weigh late in the day. Weigh yourself at the beginning of the day when you have not eaten, drank, or exercised. Your weight can fluctuate up to 5 lbs (even without clothing) during the day based on what you've eaten or drank. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Try…

Pop Chips and Quaker brown rice mini cakes are a better substitute. But I ONLY eat those on my Indulge meal days :blushing:

MFP's preset protein guideline is pretty low. You should be eating about 1g of protein for each lb of your body weight.

This article pretty much sums up my thoughts---it all depends on what YOU want to get out of the exercise. I don't want to just lose the weight and be thin, I want to be toned and strong so I strength train. I do quite a bit of cardio (4-6x week) along with strength training 3-4x week to get the best of both worlds...lose…

I was world's worst with evening snacks. I could have just finished dinner then I started perusing my pantry for snacks. SO SO SO bad. Honestly and quite frankly, you can try all the little tricks (=drinking water, going for walks, etc) but it all really comes down to will power. You have to want the end result MORE than…

Calisthenics are awesome. Using your own body is a great way to tone. You can do maximum number of the exercise (push up pull up) till failure.

Yes---frequently. I have a friend who has flat abs and had her breast done a few years ago so she can wear teeny tiny bikinis and I am still uncomfortable wearing a 2 piece (even though I am now a size 2). This actually drives me to keep going and keep pushing harder. Train harder. Eat cleaner. It's all about what you do…

I can clearly see how far you've come. Good job. Keep reminding yourself of this and you will keep motivated.

I agree. It taste and feels like cardboard box. I tried this other bread which is MUCh MUCH better than ezekiel. P28. It has 28g of protein for 2 slices. and it actually taste good. Has a bit of a spongy texture but much more edible than ezekiel.
