  • I still use the one with Janet Jones-Gretzky, probably about once every two weeks. It's one of my favorites and I get a great burn each time. The Firm workouts really are timeless.
  • Sounds like you had an amazing experience with great food and lasting memories! 2700 calories is not bad at all. I doubt you'll see any significant repercussions. Sometimes our routines need a nice jolt now and then:)
  • Welcome!! This site will do wonders for your motivation and efforts. It's true, going at this alone is a hundred times more difficult. When I first joined this site, I achieved great results just with the support and encouragement I found here. I've floundered a bit since then and really want to buck up and get back to…
  • Turbo Fire by Chalene Johnson (also associated with Beachbody). I cannot praise this DVD series enough! Yeah, it seems a lot to pay upfront for a workout but the variety and number of workouts is extensive. And not a lot of space is required. I've had mine for almost six years and I'm not even close to getting bored. I…
  • Today marks three weeks without concentrated sugar and I've lost six pounds since I started! Pretty good for me! Even though I've been using this site for almost six years, I'm not using the diary for a while since they stress me out for the moment. After 26 years, I'm very good at closely estimating how many calories I…
  • Wow, this forum is just what I need!! I'm 45, 5'5" and my weight has been up and down since I was eighteen. I have four kids and my last two pregnancies were the beginning of the end! I swear my metabolism is at 30%! If i'm not actively trying to lose weight, I'm gaining it! I went back to school six months ago and the…
  • As long as you stay within the calories the Inferno plan outlines, it doesn't matter if you eat different food. I didn't follow their menu at all but I ate clean, lots of veggies, grains, and protein but stayed around 1200 cals per day. This is definitely NOT a plan to follow for more than five days. It was tough for me…
  • The hardest workout I've ever done and worth every second and penny!! The first day was tough! The last day was slightly easier! Keep pushing "play", do it at your own pace but give the best effort you can. The energy and stamina you will have will amaze you. Somebody here likened it to feeling ten feet tall and…
  • Shawn T. (sp?) is really just teasing us with Month 1! Month 2 is where it really happens! But I did all of it (with breaks!) and loved it! Surprisingly, my favorite part of the warm-up was getting down on my hands and pushing my heels up and side to side! I didn't think I'd even be able to do it at all! I may never learn…
  • So, I tried to do another round of Insanity starting this past Monday. Uh...not gonna happen! Mentally, I'm just not ready to put myself through that for a while. I've been doing Turbo Fire and some weight training since I finished Insanity and now I think it's time to do some P90X!! BRING IT!!
  • I do miss working out with weights! Thanks for the advice. Both programs are highly tempting!
  • Hello, all! I'm Vanessa, and the gorgeous guy in my profile pic is my hubby, Matt! I just finished my first round of Insanity this past weekend and, truly, it is one of the biggest accomplishments OF MY LIFE!!! I lost 14 lbs and a lot of inches! I was planning to move on to P90X but I'm seriously considering another round…
  • Go with TurboFire! It's AWESOME! Be sure to do the "new to class" option for the first week or so to get the moves down. The music is so motivating. You actually have FUN working out!
  • I just finished my first round of Insanity! WOO-HOO! I plan to do another round soon. I lost 14 lbs and numerous inches but the endurance I built up was AY-MAZING! I've been working out for well over 20 yrs and the first day of Insanity made me feel like I'd never worked out at all! Even on the last day, I was still taking…
  • Wowza, you look fantastic!! Very inspiring! Your hard work definitely paid off!
  • Finishing one round of Insanity is graduation from the Fit Test, IMO! :)
  • The answer is in your post! Your body is hanging on to any weight it can! For your ht/wt, 1900 calories is a reasonable amount, especially if you're doing Insanity. A heart rate monitor will also help in calculating how much you are burning and will enable you mentally to up your calories when monitoring your daily intake.…
  • Stick with it! It took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of the routines, even with the "new to class" feature. I know them all now and even after a year and a half, I'm not bored with them. I lost over 20 lbs over the first four months. Once the moves are more familiar, you will have so much fun with this workout!
  • I'm on the second week and that's really saying something! I felt like a complete beginner on Day one! I'm now halfway through week two and I'm pleasantly surprised at the endurance and energy I have. The workouts are getting SLIGHTLY easier and I don't dread them quite so much. I'm not going to weigh for a while but I my…
  • I've been doing TF for a year and a half and I still love it! 45EZ is my FAVORITE routine! Congrats on your success!
  • I'm on Day 2 of this INSANE program! I've been a regular exerciser for 25 years and today was the first time I yelled, " I hate you!" to the TV!!! Lol!!! But once it's done, I sure feel good! I thought Turbo Fire was a challenge! I had to pause my DVD about every 2-3 minutes but I got through it. Not looking forward to…
  • At the time I saw it, I had no idea it was a true story and the end completely floored me! Had I known, I would not have watched it. I see enough tragedy in every day life. However, I hope it brought the families some comfort to have their loved ones remembered in this way.
  • THIS! I used this method for all four of my babies. If your baby is sleeping for 4-5 hours at a time, it should work. If less, she might need a few more weeks. I followed the advice of a Parenting magazine article called, "Teach your child to sleep in 7 days". You might be able to still find it on their website. Establish…
  • <there's my puppy! Who, incidentally, is not supposed to be on the couch!
  • "The Perfect Storm" Hey, let's spend two hours watching how these brave men conquer their struggles at sea only to have them all drown at the end. Really?
  • Turbo Fire and anything by Cathe Friedrich!! Seriously, she does it all! Step, weights, HIIT, you name it!
  • I never did Turbo Jam and I was perfectly fine with TF. TJ would be good, too, but from what I've read/heard, TF has more variety and better music. Either one would be good.
  • Turbo Fire is my new love! I am a seasoned exerciser, with plenty of DVDs to my name. TF is my favorite! I've been doing this series for almost four months ( I do mix in other workouts 1-2 days a week) so I'm taking longer to complete the series. Not only have I lost 23 lbs, my overall definition is amazing, especially my…
  • Hi, all! I'm Vanessa, from Utah. I've been an RN for twelve years, the past five on a medical/tele hospital floor. Can't beat the flexibility of nursing though the crazy hours can be hard to take! I worked 50/50 for the past five years with two years of straight nights prior to that to accommodate my family of four kids…
