Have you tried slimming world? It's clean eating with certain rules. Once you get your head around it you'll never have to count or measure again really and there are a lot of foods which are unlimited (within reason). I didn't get along with it but I know loads of people who did really well with it. It's also the sort of…

Steps are counted from doing aerobics and things too, I can rinse my 10,000 goal if I do a fitness class or go to the gym. I am lucky I live within walking distance of work so I usually make 5000 just in my commute. I also volunteer for all the errands at my desk job which involve lots of walking around the hospital where…

Giving up my carby ways really helped me with my food addiction so I am behind you 100%. My problem is now I've been binging on carbs over christmas it's like giving up crack all over again - but I know that there is truth behind this and you are completely right. Friend me if you want a like minded buddy :)

I pretty much binged for 3 weeks on carbs due to being ill and thinking it would make me feel better. Well it didn't and neither did gaining 7lbs  But a lot of that will be water weight and no doubt it will whoosh right off once the chocs are all gone

That is the nature of the grain unfortunately once you're eating it, it's hard to control your cravings I find. Personally i would stay away from anything that triggers you to want to eat more and more of it. Eating should leave you feeling satisfied not craving. I try not to keep anything in the house like that. Also you…

I am not trying to convert you to the low carb life but I honestly never got a handle on my binge eating until I gave up refined sugars, grains, pulses, starchy veg etc. It cause insulin spikes which put your appetite on this insatiable rollercoaster. I've been bingeing on carbs and sugar for the last week too and I…

Chris Rock's "racial humour" makes me feel so uncomfortable. Maybe I'm missing something but if a white guy was on stage saying all the stuff in reverse I'm pretty sure they'd be locked up, sued or shot in the head....

Yes!! Please god yes!!!

Stupid water weight!! Keep with it! Don't tweak just persevere. I started tweaking mine and it's all gone tits up!

This is what my husband does. He gets awful callouses from lifting heavy weights with his ring on. It really doesn't bother me if he doesn't wear it. I mean if it takes a ring on his finger to keep him faithful then what hope do we have!

I'm in Cornwall :D add me if you like!

I have a book about GI which I am getting around to reading ...... a colleague of mine lives by it religiously and she works out like a machine!! It's something I am going to try and work towards ...

Its true, veggies are my downfall but that's not the low carb diet that causes this, i would eat just as few (if not fewer) vegetables if i was eating any other diet. It is something i am working on - today isnt the best example to judge my diet by

This whole low fat vs low carb debate is as likely to be resolved as whether God or Allah exists. I could find as many articles arguing either point as the other - I am going on what personally works for me and not criticising those who find something different works for them....

Where's the Atlas of WOMAN?? i might read that :) I didn't get the info from a book more from body building websites but it seems to make sense to me as some regimes have just NOT work - cals in vs out is too simplistic approach , it works for some yes but not all. My dad is 70 yrs old and severely obese but eats like a…

You do have to keep your salt intake fairly high on a ketogenic diet though or you can suffer from low blood pressure - i got this advise from a dr by the way - no not dr oz :) lol
-
This is good advice thank you - i had planned on eating the extra carbs right before work outs for better performance - such as having milk in my protein shakes for example....

Please don't misunderstand me, I know fat is NOT the preferred energy source but that's kind of the point. I have eaten a calorie deficit and led an active lifestyle and not lost any weight. It was a personal trainer that alterted me to the fact that even on "good days" my carbs were way too high. I think maybe you are…

1lb lean body mass seems more logical than my actual body mass lol. I'm 230 lbs and currently eating about 81g protein? I'm a bit confused!
-
That seems a lot of protein for my body weight? What's this rule based on?
-
That's really helpful thank you! So does protein always stay around 35%?
-
I shrink about a stone 14 pounds when i start low carbing - glycogen holds on to water which makes you bloat so i would say yes - however i do know lots of people who eats loads of carbs and stay lean. I think it has a lot to do with your body type.
-
It seems logical doesn't it? But this diet makes you look at your macros in a different way - protein has to stay moderate or else you can stall - but this is pushing outside my current diets boundaries so I'm not sure of the rules any more

It has sooooo many uses! It's an excellent moisturiser and hair conditioner as well as being a good stable oil for frying and baking. You shouldn't be stuck for ideas as there are thousands :)
