  • Feel free to add me! I'm always on, and I try to support everyone!
  • Keep it up--for some of us, the scale really isn't the pivotal point: it's the jeans! LOL! You're right that all around healthful living should be our goal, so kudos to you for keeping that in focus, and for taking it at a pace you know you can stick to. Eventually, you can push yourself, be it sooner or later, but when…
  • Count me in--I've been doing better and better with water intake, and this should help keep me cognizant of the task!
  • Marvelous! Do it!
  • I'm with you, Fran--you can do it! At 19, you'll get fit in no time if you stick to a plan, any plan, with consistency, and resolve. Will is right: Falling off happens to us all (well, me at least), but you have to swallow that pride/sadness thing that happens when you fall short, and just get up, dust yourself off, and…
  • You can do it, and you're GONNA do it! One day in the not so distant future you'll be saying you DID do it! Win it!
  • The last thing I recall binge eating... Hmmm... I think it was 1/2 an angel loaf cake from the supermarket. Yes, yes it was. That was delicious! Worth it? Not in the slightest. Chocolate is my Achilles heel. Chocolate & cookies. Some people like hard candies, soft chewy candies, but not me I want to chow down on fresh…
  • Hi, JusGem & everyone else! You're absolutely on the ball with putting PAM at the top of your list--I battle with keeping that up daily & hourly (as do many of you I'm sure). Feel free to add me! Seems challenging when you're mid-30s and 20-30 lbs above ideal weight for a 5' frame--particularly for office working women.…
  • Check SuperCork's profile on here and you'll see some amazing results sans P90X--just diet, walking, and lifting. +200lbs to an athletic build
  • I don't know what CE is but NROLFW is hot *kitten*. Heavy lifting, it's where it's at.
  • Forlini is right--the fitness test can be found online at Beachbody.com See if you can do that, and assess whether you're up for the full schedule of workouts. It's awesome, I must say.
  • Also, I got TurboFire and the pace was INSANE. I don't know if you are exceptionally fast and coordinated, but I'm elf-like in my proportions, and even *I* had a hard time keeping up with Chalean. I'd prefer running than TurboFire, but that's just me.
  • I'd just go to your local Marshall's or TJMaxx or Walmart and get a $5 to $10 DVD that mixes cardio with bodyweight exercises (options with resistance bands are a plus). Jillian Michaels, Jackie Warner are two of my 2nd rate fav's if you can't afford the Beachbody stuff. At 230lbs you really just need to cut away some…
  • I disagree with the difficulty claims of P90X. I went from sitting on my @$$ for about 900 days straight to doing my best at P90X and actually SEEING results after just 30 days. But the difference between P90X and Insanity seems accurate, though I haven't tried Insanity. If it is in fact cardio & Plyo, then it's gonna burn…
  • I don't like lint balls
  • My aunt is 76, and last year she got tribal face tats, a full chest/collar, and both her shoulders. Just got the beginning to a sleeve on her forearm this year. Never really too old.
  • Oh, man, let me introduce you to one of my recent faves: FAST Paleo. Tons of delicious recipes! If you live anywhere near one of those Bargain Discount stores, you could try picking up one of their cheap-O vegan or vegetarian recipe books. I mean, you can find some REALLY beautiful photography in these little gems. And…
  • If you're deadlifting, take it kinda slow at first and build up that ligamental strength. After a couple of weeks, if you're ready to bulk up on the weight and strong enough in the wrists, I suggest using an alternate grip. I continually used pronated grip the entire first couple of months of lifting and boy, when I…
  • Send an invite my way! I'm 5'0" and looking to lose 15-20 lbs. (currently hovering around 130) I'm kicking butt with Beachbody Fitness programs, lifting heavy when I can, and eating as clean as I can (little temptations aside). Trying to be as Primal (Primal Blueprint, by Mark of MarksDailyApple.com) as possible, but I…
  • Alternate grip changed my deadlifting life. I was always going pronated, and while I found that while it built up forearm muscle, I couldn't keep up with heavy weights. I swapped one hand and I went from 105 to 135 easy. (Mind you, I'm a 130lb girl who was just starting out in deadlifting, so for me, that's good).
  • I just started COMBAT about 4 days ago! I'm so psyched! Granted, neither of them can form a coherent sentence when they're really getting it in (Her: "Weakness is pain leaving the body"; Him: "Yeah, baby! I like SPICY Jack Daniels sauce on my... SPICINESS!"), but I love kicking things, and THIS workout ENGAGES me, and I…
  • You guys are AWESOME! I LONG for the day I am capable of Oly lifting. Alas... a far off dream for now...
  • That's my girl! That's my girl! ::stands over a pile of discarded body fat and looks it in the... uhhh... looks it in the... the fat cyst! and says, "You just got knocked the f**k out, lipids!"
  • Nice links--you make it easy on a newb!
  • All of the above comments plus this: Finger food helps the initial phase--at least it did for me. I suggest taking an hour, collect the top 10 finger foods you would like to try this next week, go buy the stuff, and again: GET RID OF TEMPTATION. Don't have it in your house. Give it away to a non-primal/paleo friend or a…
  • I'd say spend the money and get a personal trainer for a month. Personally, when I really dedicated myself to strength training, I found that what little breast tissue I have started to disappear when I began seriously bench pressing. Maybe it wasn't the bench press that truly ate them away--could have been all the push…
  • Generally I don't care who I work with so long as they're competent enough not to cause me trouble. I like laughing and fireside horror stories, and thus far, it has been provided by males, but I don't preclude the possibility that I may one day work with an awesome bunch of b!tches--thus far though: hasn't happened. I'd…
  • It's been a week since you posted that, but I hope you're still going strong! I have never (in my adult life) relaxed my hair, but I'm biracial and have a more relaxed curl anyway. Nevertheless, I still struggle with breakage, split ends, dryness, and all of the lost time that goes with caring for our delicate but…
