My doctor friends say that you have to rest and not do vigorous exercise (and definitely not strength training) if you have a viral infection. It could be up to 2 weeks, esp as you get older. Not sure what they were saying the mechanism behind this logic was, but it's been said to me by more than one doc.

How do you respond to overt rudeness... without being rude? Why bother? Clearly she doesn't have a problem being rude--send that dish back to the kitchen where it came from!
-
Pay attention to your macronutrient ratios so you understand why you feel the way you do when you it starts to hit.

See if you can get the gym membership for free if you get a certain number of personal training sessions. There are a lot of possibilities, and you should also keep in mind what your goals are. (i.e. a PT shouldn't be used to just have someone to tell you to get on the treadmill and watch you for 20 minutes--use them for…

Me too, y'all! Jersey gal, trying to lose 30# in 2018 if I can!
-
Barefoot is right.

@kmariev213 I'm not sure if anyone has said it yet, but naturally you've got to get your macros right, too. That always goes without saying.
-
@kmariev213 Yes--they definitely don't stand the test of time! I freeze mine same-day and take them out the night before use. Making sure you have a frothy consistency is key, because that aeration helps it defrost much easier. If it were solid juice you'd have an icecube. Speaking of which--you can also make smoothie…

Once you throw avocados into the mix you're golden. So high in calories. I would suggest a vegan protein powder, lots of good fruits and TONS of greens (plus chia) into the blender on a Sunday night, make smoothies for breakfast for the week, and then you should be able to smash your goals. Those leafy greens really get…

Please don't quit--you're doing it right! I'm 37 and not hitting nearly as much success as you, but your success will mean so much to me and other pixies like you! Keep at it--you'll win in the end!

I'm with you, Inquilter--at 5'0" we have to eat like birds to maintain a "normal" weight. Kinda makes life miserable when everyone around you can eat 2,000 calories and just *live*. Good luck on your renewed journey!
-
They don't actually taste all THAT awesome, so I'd vote no. I bought a box or 2 when I first found out about them (Snickerdoodle is the only one I liked), but after the 8th one (not in 1 day, people--I like cookies but not THAT much), I was just done with them. Better to make your own protein muffins IMHO.

Yeah, I was caught aback by all of those alternative hearts when I saw them on the emoji keyboard, but I suppose they have their uses. I suppose. Have I seen any good uses? No, but... why would anyone do it without a reason, rigth? I love this: Strange aeons we live in, my friend.

IT! IS! THE! BEST!

Here to laugh at just the wrong moment with you guys!

Right here with y'all! I'm striving to eat well AND do intermittent fasting, but when the *kitten* hits the fan I could easily fall back into poor praxis. I find that when I take Aleve-D I can fight the urges because it's an overall appetite suppressant, and I keep seltzer on hand all the time. I should probably have more…

You're very young, so be patient with your body--and your mind. You're still getting to know both. I know it's taken me a long long time, and I'm 36 and still don't know myself fully. Just keep trying your best to live healthfully. Be prepared for breakdowns and arm yourself with better bad choices when bad choices are…

Heya! Trying to lose 15 lbs to get to 115 and STAY there! Add me if you like to share (overshare) pics, ideas, motivational statements, failures and triumphs alike!
-
Wow, Sarah--that's what I suspected would probably be the case with appetite suppressants, so thank you for sharing!
-
Sadly, I didn't know "trigger foods" were a thing, so thank you, Geo for actually using that term!
-
Add me if you're in it to win it. Or eat cake and do burpees till you puke. That works too!
-
Here here! I just readjusted my macro goals so I can really start to make a dent in this scale--ahem... I mean in the readings on the scale. I actually GAINED weight in the past couple of months, so I'm trying to get more active throughout the day--I'd love to walk a mile at lunch, but I think I'll have to settle for a…

Right there with you! I went to tons of grade schools and was often the odd one out (biracial = off-putting to both blacks and whites), but I didn't start getting "fluffy" til high school. After that, it just never really went away. It used to depress me that I would never be a stick figure girl, but I'm too old now to…

You can either do the scales for food because everyone here is right: accurate measurements are ESSENTIAL. That little bit of coconut oil the food is fried in--you'd be amazed how much goes down your gullet, thus increasing your overall caloric intake. And 1000% correct on the generics here on MFP--it's not what you need.…
