Pretty much exactly why I think my wife watches it. I caught a bit of one episode and the story was slow and not very good.

I started watching it for the scenery, the set design and history, but ended up liking the story.

I like the "equality" of the Viking culture too. Lagertha is pretty cool.

And admittedly the men covered in blood with yak hair glued to their chin is strangely attractive.

Great show. Wasn't expecting much for an original drama on History channel, but its been great.
