Pretty much exactly why I think my wife watches it. I caught a bit of one episode and the story was slow and not very good.
I started watching it for the scenery, the set design and history, but ended up liking the story.
I like the "equality" of the Viking culture too. Lagertha is pretty cool.
And admittedly the men covered in blood with yak hair glued to their chin is strangely attractive.1 -
