Oh well done!

Yep, bet there's a lot more to this than we're being told.

Great stuff.

I have a gel seat cover which helps quite a lot. That's over a "comfort" saddle. I've still had enough by 4 or 5 miles though!

Well done! You are doing so well. But you don't look "urgh" before, you look happy :)

Oh well done!

I've already eaten 1900 calories today and MFP is telling me to eat 900 more because I went on a big cycle ride earlier. This just seems ... wrong. I'm not even hungry. Really really eating a load of food when I'm not hungry and have already eaten plenty will be better for me?

You look so much younger! Well done that woman.
-
Yummy! Hope you enjoyed it!

There are a pair of trousers sitting in my wardrobe that I've never worn - they were a little too small when I bought them and then I gained weight. I've lost 7 inches from my hips so far. 3 more to go and those trousers, in theory, will fit. So, in the short term, those!

Well done! (Wondering how you managed to wear 16 suits at all anyhow...?)

That's a good one! Well done!

I wondered that at first but actually there's a fair few of us with plenty of stored energy we want to use up (well, that's how I'm looking at it) ;) You can only do one day at a time. Just keep on going. It's amazing how it all adds up. (And actually doing it, I'm finding, is 100 times easier than worrying about NOT doing…

Oh well done that man. Getting rid of diabetes is fabulous. I hope to do the same.

Well done!

It doesn't work that if Co2 goes down O2 rises. Co2 drops because of it's different permeability across the lung membrane, oxygen levels don't rise through hyperventilation. Because you lose bicarbonate ions (to Co2) you become alkalotic if you hyperventilate. But only for as long as you do it.…
-
But if you hyperventilate you LOWER your blood carbon dioxide, while your oxygen stays the same. Anyhow, not going to get into a row about it. If you can work the diet in some healthy way that works for you then all to the good. But the "science" behind it makes no sense to me.

Pretty much what I was thinking. I mean each to their own and all kinds of strange combinations of food will lead to weight loss if they make you eat less energy than you're using. But unless you have horrible metabolic or respiratory complaints your blood pH is tightly balanced by your body and what you eat is not going…

Well done! You look pretty in both pics, but even more so as the new you :)

I'm 5'8" and have no idea whatsoever where I'll end up. I'll stop when I feel right, not when numbers tell me something. Disko, pain can cause us to get thin or fat and although they look different they probably aren't very different underneath. Sending hugs. Make sure you see someone about the pain inside you so you can…

Wow J and K, you're both an inspiration! :) About 12 years ago I got from 120kg to 90kg over about a year. That was the thinnest I'd been since my teens, I think. Then stopped counting calories, got married and happy (weight gain), had a baby (no weight gain), didn't sleep for 4 years because of said child (gained plenty)…

On day 6 here and it's so far so good. Tasty meals, real food, good to remind oneself about portion sizes! And very easy. For me the worst thing about dieting is thinking about food. I obsess. I don't have to think on this and that's great. Plenty of snacks available throughout the day which suits me. Easy to pack lunch…

Hmmm. Agree that a high blood potassium level is a bad thing - but you won't get that from eating potassium rich foods. "Lo-salt" substitutes potassium for sodium so people using that eat buckets of the stuff. Tomatoes are the other potassium rich food that leap to mind - nice and low in calories and rich in lycopenes…

Here's wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy. It might be worth checking in with your midwife about your plans. Weight loss during pregnancy can program your baby to expect a famine environment and they grow up programmed to store food (i.e. be fat) and are at higher risk of heart disease as adults. Exercise when…
