can't be bothered googling but certain many of the movies mentioned in this thread are '90s not '80s.

An Officer and a Gentleman Pretty in Pink Christiane F (because i was obsessed with David Bowie) and of course, Deperately Seeking Susan. Madonna was soooo cool.

I just wish people would stop calling other people stupid just because they have different opinions. We cant all be the same. Each to their own.

are you drinking plenty of water? I just had the exact same complaint, started drinking loads of water and started losing straight away. It will be more than one issue probably. I find if you undereat you may be picking more, you must be very hungry at such low calorie. So your calorie intake may be higher than you think…

I've got one and no problems to my knowledge. Am finding it hard to lose some weight I put back on but hadn't really thought about the Mirena as an issue re that. Don't get periods (had very light ones all my life anyway) so as I'm 44 by the time I need it taken out I'll probably be in menopause. Kind of weird to think…

H&M has a great range.

I think the one about eating more and you'll lose more is a good one. So. Not. True. For me anyway.

I have avoided owning scales for ages because I used to be such a slave to the numbers, completely depressed if they hadn't gone down. Just caved in and bought some and they're like my new toy, weighting myself every time I go to the bathroom. Which is quite a lot because i just started drinking alot of water. Amazing how…

I agree its terribly important to eat not just low calorie but well, good clean healthy foods, veges, lean meat, wholegrains. Don't agree its easier for people who "just have a bit to lose" than for bigger people, quite the opposite in fact. .Those last few kgs are killers to get off.

I actually think you are nearly there, mentally. Because I go through this process. Right before I get the determination to do it I feel really down about it all. Then I go past that and do it. So sure by now you've gone there! Maybe focus on one thing at a time. I've been told it takes two weeks to break a habit. So…

this one made me smile. I get this too, its really embarassing. I have big nipples anyway and they get totally hard when I train hard. Really noticeable. I guess I'm so red and sweaty the sweat dripping off me probably cancels out any sex appeal effect this could have on other gym members.

Yes the UK is quite easy good advise here. I find the pubs are very helpful in doing things like ommitting fries and giving extra salad instead too they can be quite flexible. But I live in a country town! Do some research on the places you are staying before you go as most of the chains now have menus on line, with…

You really shouldn't be texting someone else's wife at all in my book. I'd be totally p'ed off if a girl texted my husband wanting to "hang out". You don't hang out with other people's wives. You're obviously emotionally involved otherwise you wouldn't care less. Find a single girl to hang out with and leave other people's…

its called jealousy. same thing happened to a guy at my work, he's lost lots of weight now everyone is "worried" about him and think he's too thin and taken it too far. Funny how they didn't "worry" about him when he was fat and in danger of all sorts of health problems.

LOVE IT!!! unfortunately find it tastes good drowned in olive oil. Throw it on the bbq with garlic. mmmmmm.

i'm doing it for the second time. Going to do ripped in 30 straigiht after. Getting great results and really enjoying it!

exactly. kind of a reflection of how unfit you are if you consider doing the hoovering that hard work it needs to be logged. To me logging housework as exercise is just an excuse to to log more calories so you have an excuse to eat more. Still, I'm sure some people do log it and do lose weight. As always there's never one…

Wine. I cut ddown a lot but nnot completely . Otherwise it just feels like life is all workwork work and no fun. especially since my husband works away and i have to go without that kind of fun as well!

I quite like this idea. Might try it, just do a apple fast a couple of days a week, will be a nice detox. haven't done stuff like that for ages but used to when i was young and it felt great.

With you there. I guess eating dirty can work, but only if you totally obsess about macros and calories all the time. I prefer to not count em to much and eat what I want as long as its predominantly veges and salad. Its simpler thats all. And the other health benefits are reaped its not just about losing weight. it…

I love Jillian. I do BFBM sometimes but right now have started 30 day shred again and its awesome. feel free to add me I am always doing some Jillian or other! it totally gets results.

I'm a big believer in apples and carrots. Eat them when you want as much as you want. buy the carrots already cut in sticks from the supermarket. Both are high fibre and good for appetite control, plus an apple simply takes a bit of effort to chew and eat so takes time and allows your body to register satiety. Try eating…

I've always found eating simple is the easiest and cheapest. chicken/frozen veges/potatoes/rice/frozen fish /canned tuna. apples. carrots. None of which are expensive.. running/walking/swimming/exercise dvds I see these shows where they put on the table what some junk food addict eats and I just can't figure out how they…

i don't think I'll ever stop. I dont' count calories so much as I will always be managing my fitness and weight, and MFP is a great way to that . I'd feel sad not seeing how everyone else is doing and all the hard work everyone else puts in inspires me. I reckon when you get too lazy to manage your diet with a food diary…
-
I think your food diary is too complicated with too many different ingredients to really be truly accurate. Good example 25g chips one day. Thats not much - were you trying to account for snacking at someone elses' chips? If so you could have eaten twice that, you really don't know how much you ate? or did you weight it…

I haven't read any of the responses already so apologise if its already been said. 1/ fruit is high sugar try cutting it out. Take a multi vitamin daily to make sure you still get your vit C. 2/ walking can have quite limited results once you are used to it, its not intense enough. Especially if you have a sedentary job.…

This is exceedingly sensible advice. You absolutely should not sleep with someone who is not attracted to you, let alone consider marriage. Like it or not, sexual chemistry is a big part of what keeps couples together through the ups and downs. My husband can be known to pressure me in the same way (well except he never…

Just the 10k, husband of course has to outdo me and do the marathon. I'm not a huge fan of running so won't particularly train, but plan to work out for at least an hour every day the next few months so should be fighting fit for it! thanks Karen x

this is definitely the big challenge for me, chocolate, junk food, all that I completely excluded from my diet years ago but I will never entirely give up a lovely glass of wine. And its true in times of stress in my life it becomes a problem. I definitely have rules I stick to , (like every night definitely out) and I…
