Jodie Marsh on Steroids
Just watched it. Interesting. A bit disillusioning. Googled things like does Jamie Eason do steroids, seems like maybe she does. What about Jillian Michaels? I googled that and found this video by her martial arts instructor of 10 years about her steroid use!!! WTF! Thoughts? Are we trying to achieve something impossible?

Creatine
I started weight training again, last Monday I did a big chest workout. Today is the first day I haven't felt sore from it in fact I felt wrecked all week! I drank whey protein straight after but need something more for recovery , husband swears by creatine. The creatine drinks I have taken before I have found don't make a…

children's diet and the obesity crisis
Just had a sleepover which gave me an insight into how other people's kids eat. So had to have a rant! :) Anyone who knows my eating habits know I eat 3 pretty normal meals a day (normal to me!) dinner is normally lean meat and small handful of clean carbs with a generous portion of green veges. My daughter eats the same.…

no progress - could it be such a simple thing as water?
so I've been very careful and I've done 30 Day shred. Eating pretty low calorie wise as I have a small frame and always need to if I want to lose weight. I eat under during the week a bit (stick to about 1000 calories net) so I can have 2 glasses of wine on Friday and Sat night and have a cheat meal on Friday night I…

Crop Tops at the Gym
Hi I have long been envious of georgeous toned girls who get to wear crop tops when they work out. It was one of my goals so its a reflection of how I feel and where I'm at now that I wear them a lot when I work out. BUT I went to my new gym the other day and got like totally bailed out by THREE of the gym staff apparently…

IGNORE THE CALORIES BURNED ON THE MACHINES
Hi, I just did 30 mins sprints/intervals on a treadmill. My HRM said 245 calories. The machine said 461 calories!!!! Hugely important point if you are eating back your calories . Obviously if I was trying to lose weight and eating back my calories and went off the machine, I would over eat and not lose a thing. Which…

And they even encourage us to use facebook in the name of work. the statement reads "whilst xx company has no objection to you using social networking for our own personal interests" bla bla.…

Jodie Marsh Bodybuilder
Anyone watch it last night? I am impressed by her dedication but without wanting to appear negative, I think she could have eaten more and got better results, seemed like she over trained without eating enough. She wasn't really that big but she does look great. anyway would love to discuss!

carrot cake
my sister in law sent me this recipe for carrot cake. BEcause my husband was reminiscing about it with her (MIL's recipe). I have never baked a cake in my life, being a bit busy working etc I can't believe it. Do people really eat this kind of stuff on a regular basis? Ingredients include 2 cups brown sugar (I think they…

30 day Shred for people who aren't beginners
Hi, I work out at the gym 4 times a week but want to work out more so I thought I"d try the exercise at home route. Is the 30 day shred good for people who are used to exercising, its normal for me to do 30-60 mins of cardio or weights 3-4 times a week. Will it still challenge me or should I try something else?

Egg whites and what to do with the yolk
I was looking at bodybuilding.com at the diet they describe for weight loss. Breakfast is meant to be 7 egg whites and one whole egg. I have never managed to get my head around this with body building. If you have to eat 7 egg whites, how do you eat them, hard boiled? And what really bothers me, is what do you do with the…

accuracy of calories might be attributing to people not losi
I notice many of the foods are member added, with no or only 1 or two confirmations. I think you really have to watch for these little commens and make sure that the food you are adding on your diary is adding the correct calorie content. Especially for those who are really trying but don't seeem to be getting results…

Workout gear and gym bags
One thing that annoys me is I don't really like the workout gear available does anyone know a good brand for great sportswear? What about gym bags, why don't they make more practical ones with a bit for your shoes and some attachments for your toiletries etc? I really think what is available is quite limited.

consistently undereating - then on MFP
I have found out by going on MFP that previously, for years in fact according to MFP i have been undereating - less than 1000 calories a day would be the norm. So I found that if I sit on 1200 calories a day I maintain but I don't lose weight. According to the electronic scale at the gym my calorie need should be about…

Iron
I thought it would be good to show my iron content in my diet as I do get tired. Busy though so no wonder in a way! I don't nearly meet my required iron despite eating meat every day. Its hard as if I eat more meat I will go over my protein and fat content as well. Anyone who can look at my diary and advise let me know!…

Keeping the Balance Right
I just started and find it very hard to get the balance right between carbs, protein and fat. Is this important? Does it make a difference weight loss wise? Today with only 60 g of smoked salmon for lunch and 150 g grilled chicken for dinner my protein amount is double what it should be, and despite having the right number…
