Big Fat Positive! (On the home pregnancy test (HPT)!) The holy grail of trying to conceive (TTC). ;-)

vegetable soup---that's all I can stand it in. But I can't even taste it in there! Popeye I am not!

I usually take the miles and just log them as walking 4.0 mph. So, no matter how long the DVD takes me, if I do 3 miles, it's 45 minutes walking, etc. It's worked for me....she usually averages out to a 15 minute mile...or so she says in most of the videos. I've lost 16 lbs so far.

Hi All--Aunt Flo arrived this morning. Booooo. Oh well. I didn't get myself all worked up over it this month, so that's good. I did eat about half of a box of nilla wafers today though. Don't know if that is a coping mechanism, or Flo craving, or a bit of both. Calorie allottment is definitely going to be over today. I'll…

Hey, I'd follow the Dr.s advice---they are seeing you specifically. If it doesn't work and you still aren't losing weight, then perhaps go back and revisit the exercise calorie issue. Overall, I'd go with the person in charge of your health over a website with predesigned parameters (as good as they have been for me on my…

I read somewhere that couples have a 25% chance of conceiving any given cycle, when you crunch the numbers. I just share that because it was a helpful reality check for me--I've been pretty hard on myself when I get a BFN for a cycle, since we got prego the first try last time, and this made me just ease up a bit, and…

I'm at week 7 of the Podrunner Couch to 5k. I've enjoyed it. It's challenging now at week 7--I'm doing 25 minute jogs nonstop. Why in the world I decided to start this in the summer, I don't know--it's HOT out there. Next week is 30 min, and the final week/graduation is 35, I think. But, the cool thing is, I'm doing it.…

1 chunked up frozen banana some water (not too much to begin with) some powdered milk (can get extra calcium without the extra liquid...and it's cheaper than using milk.) Blend it up. This is the "base". From here you can add just about anything. My favorite is other frozen fruits...I like strawberries, blueberries,…

SW-147 CW-131 GW -whatever I am when I pop a positive test! ;-)

Love the new group. I'm Karen--I'm a wifey and mom to a very active 20 month old named Joshua. Have my masters degree in counseling, but am working part-time for my dad in his consulting business, because it just works better for me that way right now. Hubby has wanted another kid for a while, but I didn't feel ready. Now…

I use Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home videos. I can do them before the kids get up. (Yes, getting up that early was hard at first, but it's been worth it!) She gets me going, and then before I know it, I'm working up a sweat. It's more like easy to follow low-impact aerobics, but it has worked for me--15 lbs down!

I don't usually drink enough...still working on that. So yes, I do log it to remind myself.

They told me the same thing in those classes, but I promise, I did not feel a single contraction until I started into labor. Don't worry about it. When you finally have one, you will be like "Oh yeah--so that's what they were talking about!"

In general, I think situps after first trimester aren't usually encouraged, cardio is fine--especially low impact, just don't overdo it and it's not a good time to start something new and hard. I'd check with your OB/GYN or doctor who knows more about your specific circumstances though--everyone is different.

It drove me nutsies last month. This month I'm just trying to chill out about it. Trying is the key word. It's going better this month, I think-- I sorta have myself convinced that I'm not getting my hopes up. We'll see how it works. :-) Whatever gets you through the day and onto the next, right?

Whoops--forgot to reply to the post. This is for Angela and the lady from FB. She just totally made that worse, didn't she? At least you will lose the weight and have a healthy baby boy--she will probably keep sticking her foot in her mouth, regardless! ;-)

Yay! Great story! It is so easy for that little voice encouraging us to eat the bad stuff and telling us we can't keep it up in our heads to sabatoge us. Part of this effort is learning to strengthen and learn to listen to the competing little voice in your head that until now has been struggling--the voice for a healthy…

Wow--kudos to you! I mean, trying is fun...but that's dedication! Good luck!

If you "eat for two", you will probably be unhappily surprised by the end of your pregnancy and post-partum. I've just now gotten back to my pre-preg weight and my son is 20 months. I only really started working on losing it in the last 4 months or so, though. The hardest part is, even when knowing that you don't need that…

Challenge ?- I want two....mostly because Bill Cosby says that you aren't really a parent if you only have one kid....if something breaks, you know who did it. Just kidding...I've just always thought 2 would be right. Hubby is lobbying for 3--we'll see--we gotta get a #2 here first. :-) Goal this month: an average of 2.5…

I'm not into the crazy party scene much, so my girls did a riverboat cruise, and when we got off, we shopped in a nice shopping district for the afternoon and then had a nice dinner at a sweet little French restaurant. Pretty much all of it was an out if the ordinary experience for me, but it was so relaxing and so much…

Thanks for the suggestions! If anyone else has some, keep em coming!

Oh, but that stuff IS SO GOOD! Did you try the burger stuck inbetween the two grilled cheese sandwiches? Now THERES a calorie buster!
-
i do Leslie Sansone videos--they can be as low impact as you need them to be. Highly recommend them.

I hear ya. To compound it, my husband's family owns an ice-cream store--we can get it any time we want! ARGH!!!! At least that way, i can just get a cone and be done with it, rather than a whole pint or something. Currently, I'm grooving on the 1-ingredient ice cream--but i add some hershey's syrup or peanut butter to make…

Hi all--been reading you all for a month or so, but want to jump in because I just need to vent a little. I'm in the losing weight while trying to TTC right now, mostly thanks to my son who is 19 months. I'm back to my pre-preg weight, and am even a few pounds down--which is good--it puts me in the healthy category by a…

Any of Leslie Sansone's walk videos. If you want 30-45 minutes, you want a 2-3 mile walk. It's not boring, and anyone can do it...and break a sweat! Her website is www.walkathome.com, and you can often find them cheaper on Ebay, etc. They are even available at Costco. Target, etc. Some of them do use "boosters". But they…

True there. I usually find that restaurant croutons are NOT 30 calories per serving, though, it is more like Panera. But, for the salads at home, a little crunch does go a long way, and 30 calories is usually so worth it, isn't it?

Married mom of 1 18 month old. It's two things for me. 1) I had to want it bad enough to do what I needed to do to get it done. 2) That turned out to be not watching TV so I could get in bed around 9 in order to be able to get up before everyone else wakes up at 5 to exercise. Not fun at all when I started, but I wanted it…

I love this post. It's so TRUE!!!!! Nix the croutons EVERY TIME, and you'll save big! I love the phrase "little irresponsible bread nuggets"--that's what I'm going to call them every time now.
