• Lots of people are doing similar things now, mainly due to food costs and concern about ingredients. There are some great videos on YouTube about urban gardening (saw one where a guy grew crazy amounts of stuff in a tiny front yard in L.A.). There are also a lot of books out currently about small scale "homesteading" and…
• I haven't used that myself, but I don't see why not. Seriously, this was so good I think I'm going to run home and make another one. And this time there won't be so many people for dinner, so it's MINE, all MINE. Ha ha. Ok, mostly mine.
• Garlic Girl, you shoulda just asked me for a strawberry cake recipe. You know I have pretty much any cake recipe you need and they have all been tested. It took me ages to get a good strawberry one that didn't have jello in it. A great thing for strawberry cake if it is something you will make again is LorAnn strawberry…
• Yes, but I'm an old fashioned kind of girl.
• Maybe the problem isn't a lack of food but a surplus of people. So if they could just genetically modify the food to reduce the fertility of the general population (because, of course, suggesting that someone in control of such technology might direct it at specific populations is offensive) it might solve the problem of…
• Troll much?? Cause your diary looks pretty damn squeaky clean to me. Sounds like you and all the above foods get along great. Plain IS boring, but healthy isn't. The list above sounds gorgeous to me, I'd only add in some steak and veggie fajitas, spice crusted salmon, and stuffed tilapia. The occasional boudin here and…
• Crunchy Cashew Thai Quinoa with Ginger Peanut Dressing {vegan and gluten free} --http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2013/04/crunchy-cashew-thai-quinoa-salad-with-ginger-peanut-dressing/#comment-5123 I saw this recipe on Pinterest and I made it last week. It was AMAZING. I did leave out the onions because I find them too…
• I'm going to be needing that recipe for curried cauliflower, Nikkie!
• I've made ones in the oven and they were fabulous. I used the recipe from Whole Living for Caramelized Sesame Chickpeas. YUM!
• Kitchen tools: I love my new Misto olive oil mister. I can't cook anymore, especially bake, without my digital kitchen scale. I thought I'd only use it for portioning meals and UK baking recipes, but now I use it for all baking. Even though US recipes are in Imperial measurements, I use the weight on the package (30gms for…
• I work out at home. I have a treadmill (which I hate and try never to use), a Kinect for Xbox (which I love), and new dog that loves neighborhood walks. I have a toddler, so the home thing works better for me, plus it's free. Mostly I do Your Fitness Evolved on the Kinect.
• Great job! I agree with you about the diet changes. I don't think I'll ever give up sugar, but I know that changing to clean eating has not only made me feel better and helped my weight loss pick up after a stall, but honestly the cleaner flours/sugars just taste better to me. I really admire your ability to make such huge…
• Not only is your weight loss fantastic, but you look so much healthier. Your skin looks better and you just look happier. Great job!

And now I only have about 200 more satsumas (at least) on my tree. I start canning on Wednesday. [img]http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q22/pixlamarque/Food…
• These are my very own Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins and they are yummy. I had to make them with sweetened dried cranberries this time, but as soon as I see fresh cranberries in the market I am making some with fresh ones for that lovely bite of moist tartness against the sweet pumpkin cake. These are squeaky clean. I'm not…
• Here's the first one. You just need to make the img lower case. I went to fix the others for you, but saw the links had been removed.
• That stuffed zucchini looks amazing, and the asparagus and fish look fabulous!

• Nikkie, that lasagna looks freaking amazing. If you made it, you best post the recipe, girl. L*oves, gorgeous cupcakes and I'll be looking up that pasta recipe. Ms. Garlic, I used to make my own pickled beets all the time (and need to again, just need to "clean" up the recipe). When I have a fridge full of pickled beets, I…

I made these with regular whole wheat flour rather than the whole wheat white flour…
• WW, of course the garlic makes it, lol. I never liked pesto before, but it was good in those chops so I plan to try it more often.
• Grilled Chicken Thighs with Ancho-Tequila Glaze (Cooking Light). These were fantastic. I didn't have any agave syrup so I used the same measure of half honey and half maple syrup. It was raining, so these got made on an…
• A very linear dinner from the weekend. Our favorite spice crusted salmon with oven roasted asparagus and fresh corn. Nikkie, I made the ancho chicken thighs tonight and they were fantastic. The pics are taking forever to…
• Looks yummy. Is there cocoa in there?
• Spinach or field greens with pickled beets and crumbled up goat cheese. I throw on a couple of tablespoons of the liquid from the pickled beets and it and the cheese coat the leaves and make their own dressing. I like to add some cranberry trail mix, too. I use the trail mix on any type of salad instead of croutons. It is…
• East Baton Rouge Parish here via New Orleans, via Texas a long time ago...........
• I'm 5'3.5" and I was in a 10 at around 165. I can't wait to get back there!
• I live in Baton Rouge. I used to live in New Orleans, but I moved here when I met my husband a few years ago. Everyone I knew that lived here told me there was nothing to do, but I didn't believe them because it is the state capitol and home to a major university. Turns out they were right. It is so boring (compared to New…
• Sweet Potato Breakfast Hash. Super YUM, way better than the photo looks. Sweet potatoes, yellow onion, lean turkey breakfast sausage, salt, pepper, fresh nutmeg, and maple syrup. Not a lot of volume, but tastes great and you…
