Uugh... my downfall has been ice-cream. I love, love, love ice-cream in the evenings since my internal furnace has changed so dramatically over the past couple years. My solution this month has been to just NOT buy it & bring it home...i.e. if it is not in the frig & easily accessible, then I don't eat it. I still CRAVE it,…

I have finished Stage 1 this week! YEAH! I'm not going to do the final AMRAP workouts because I'm scheduled to have Euflexxa injected into my knee joint next week. Instead of 1 week off, I think it'll be three weeks off. So, do I start over with stage 1 or should I start stage 2 in 3 weeks? what to do, what to do? I am…

There ya go... ya just answered your own question. First mare is OBVIOUSLY NOT A KID-SAFE HORSE! Give her back, with LOTS of "thank-you for letting us borrow her" comments. Keep your friendship intact, & be honest, but tactful. THEN, after 1st mare is safely back to her original owner, THEN follow-up with a thank-you card…

I only have dumbbells. No access to machines or barbells yet. For Workout A see pg 162 for Dumbbell single overhead squats, and then pg 204 for Dumbbell Bent over Rows. For workout B see pg 170 for Dumbbell single leg roman deadlifts, and pg 201 for Pullovers. I think you can still do just fine using dumbbells in lieu of…

I love the smell of freshly cleaned leather. Those old western saddles with the dark oil leather carvings & silver laced cantles were such a chore to clean, but so attractive to the eye & satisfying when you got them all done. Then, to open your barn tack-room door & have the smell of all that freshly cleaned leather is…

NROLFW stage 1 workout B5 - used seesaw with BALL for 2nd round of single leg roman deadlifts - seems to help with stabilization on my left leg...still difficult to balance for me. Lunges are getting better - slow, alternating legs, can almost do them - feels like my leg is rounding inwards from hip to toe on forward leg…

bump I like to see other people's websites for good recipes too. I am not a cook, but I figure anyone who can read a cookbook can cook, right? So, please, keep listing these good websites for recipes for the lacks-cooking-skills bodies, like me! Thanks :) J

NROLFW stage 1 workout B3 DONE this afternoon - able to increase weights on upperbody to 16# (2 8# dumbbells).... guess I need heavier dumbbells soon, huh. Better stability in my Lunges today - just figured out that it is supposed to be alternating legs. I think this program has helped me already - was able to walk UP a…

I completed Stage 1 Workout B2 yesterday. I got a set of 8# dumbbells & an exercise ball to add to my "home living room gym" . Found I couldn't even lift the higher weighted dumbbells off the shelf at the store...so, I will make do with the 8#, 5#, 3# dumbbells that I have, for now. Don't laugh at me.. but I got up at the…

NROLFW - Stage 1 Workout B - 1st time. Had a hard time with the deadlift - dumbbell single leg variety cuz I'm not stable on single leg...but got them done. Had MAJOR difficulty with the Lunges - my knees both crunch & I have limited ROM, so used a chair to balance & no weights. No problems with anything using upper body -…
