I'm thinking about trying this class. I've been doing free weights on my own but I like the idea of a group class. :)

The problem is hip flexor pain. That's why I can't break parallel. :(
-
Great, thanks you guys!
-
That's a great point. I'll stick with the olympic bar.
-
This is awesome progress! Can I ask what your calories and macros are/were?
-
Thanks. :) I have improved a little bit since I posted this. What I have noticed though, is that I have a much harder time squatting with the olympic barbell. The same weight feels so much harder because it's so damn long. It's like I can't keep it stable. And I think I'm intimidated by it. I squatted with a fixed weight…
-
So I'm not crazy! I thought they were harder...
-
Thank you! I sure hope so! They are so much harder than they look! I have a hard time getting back up once I'm down. Like an old lady kinda. Lol
-
Since the squats are hard for me, my trainer has me doing box squats. But they seem even harder in a way! Thoughts on that?
-
Exactly. This was just my first day.
-
I got a personal training package at my gym just to help me with my form during my lifts. He seems great but I'm not going to blindly trust all of his advice.
-
Well, dumb me ordered a box from Amazon and I hate them! oh well. Live and learn.
-
What is HIIT then? Examples?
-
Are you saying just 7-10 minutes and you're done? Or do you repeat that?
-
So I saw my trainer for the first time today. We did a fitness assessment but didn't start lifting yet. Since my kids are off next week we'll start the following week. The only thing I'm not sure if I agree with is he wants me to do 30-60 minutes of cardio on T/Th and the lifting on M/W/F. A friend told me it would be more…

I do have the app and that's a good idea to add weight more slowly. Do you think it's worth paying the $9.99 for the extra info?

Bump

I have a couple friends who love the cookie dough quest bars so I thought maybe I was weird. Haha I really want to try the birthday cake oh yeah bar.
-
Yeah...I got a few of those letters mixed up...and added one. :confounded:
-
Thank you! Haha when I first saw your username I thought it was "bigidiot". Lol
-
I decided to sign up for a gym membership. I actually found a really cheap one and I got a personal trainer for 10 sessions. I'm super nervous!
-
Hi top converse?
-
Oh I'm sure my form was wrong. Definitely.
-
Do you think a male or female trainer would be better? I'm probably going to do it thru 24hour and I'm guessing they'll just assign anyone to me. I don't have $$ to try different trainers since I'm only going to buy 5 sessions. Should I tell them that I'm specifically doing stronglifts?
-
Thanks for your response! Honestly I'm not worried about anyone bothering me, I'm more embarrassed to walk in without any experience and looking like an idiot! Do you think it's worth using a trainer a few times to show me form or is that s waste of money? My thinking is if I have an experienced person with me at first…
-
Great to know - thanks. :)
-
24 Hour has a deal - $279 for 5 personal training sessions. Is that a good deal? I actually hate to pay even that much but I really really need someone to show me these exercises in order for me to have the confidence to do it on my own.
-
Ok, cool.
-
That's so awesome! Good to know! :)
-
That sounds great! I'll check it out. Thanks
