ah - the tug of war btw knowing what I want to do and what I actually DO! :) It's a never ending fight, I'm sure, until we die. I agree with mommynmotion - it's takes time to build habit and then as best as I can, I try to never break the habit because I've discovered that it takes 30 days or 60 days to build a good habit…

I appreciate your info on what 60% vrs 70% vrs 80% should "feel" like. If you go by the traditional way of calculating my MHR, it would be so low for me. Here's a question - where do you want to be at for the bulk of your workout to loose weight? I keep hearing things like "weight loss range" or "aerobic range" or…

I would not say I have knee problems BUT my knees get sore very easily if I do a lot of lunging and squats etc so I am very careful what I do. I found the Slim in 6 had too many lunges etc. I'm now trying the 30DS and so far so good BUT I do the modify version of most every exercise. Good luck!

I just go by whatever MFP tells me to do frpm what I set as my goals. Currenly, I am 1200 cals. Then if you want to eat back your exercise calories you can do that too. I log my SI6 under either "Aerobics - low impact" or "Circuit Training - general" Usually I'm allowed to eat back 250-350 calories. Does that make sense?…

my girlfriend told me that I should be surprised if I don't loose anything during the first few week of SI6 because you'll be holding onto water and restoring sore muscles but just ride through it.

I love strong cheddar cheese - that I could eat all day ... sorry, I don't really like string cheese. :)
-
haven't gone there yet but I've heard it is much harder. :) Good luck.

Ok - honest - if I'm going to try this, can one of you actually send me a recipe? :)

Bravo for you to be on a budget! Keep up the good work. :)

Kay - you have inspired me. I have FOUR kids - grade5-9 and they eat me out of house and home. The words, "fills them up" are exactly what I need. ;)

I did Start It Up for 3 days and found myself very sore :) even though the workout itself seemed easy enough. :) I was shocked. I will probably stick with it for a bit longer before I move to the Ramp It Up. I've heard it's much longer and demands more. I want to be sure I'm ready for it.

i have never worked with dry beans. hopefully you will find someone who has and who can give you a first-hand experienced answer. If it were me, I would try soaking longer next time. :) Good luck!

what am I to do with the spreadsheet? I tried to put my calorie burn in for today but I think it's in a View only state. ???

I too did the 40 minutes video today. MFP's database only told me I burned about 251 caleries for 40 minutes of Aerobic exercise - low impact. So, it is currious to me that you said your HRM said about 190. Maybe MFP isn't that far off. :) One of these days, I'm going to have to invest in a HRM.
-
my treadmill tells me my calories ... does yours by chance?? I know it's not as good as a HR monitor but it's a good place to start.

@bstamps - I created a blog and then I can go back through out the year and review them and even edit them.

Good morning - I'm Evelyn. I'm 5ft 5in and I weighed 166.5lb last Thursday on my weigh in day :) I've lost about 30-35 lbs since July but then Christmas came and now for the past two-three weeks I've been just maintaining. I have this video downstairs and I haven't used it yet so this Challenge will be just what I need to…

Cool - I'll tell you what, since I have become more active and eating better, my whole family has too. AND I think they don't even realize it. We set the example, there is no doubt. :)

I went to the website - great place. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hello - My name is Evelyn. I'm the mother of four kids, 15, 14, 12 and soon to be 11. They are all athletes and participate in whatever sport is in season. My husband and I spend a lot of time at the school watching games :) OR driving back & forth for practices. Love every bit of it. I am also a piano teacher. I have my…

@ mommynmotion - :) I love you're new year's resolutions. You know reading doesn't have to be in the old fashioned way where you sit and hold a book. if you're going to run all those miles next year, download a copy of the Bible to your ipod and listen to it while you're out on your run. I'm sure you'll have more than…

for me - the added calorie burn wouldn't be worth the wear & tear on your feet. Wearing high heals is very hard on your feet.
