Enjoy your moment. You've earned it! Good job.

A journey of 1000 miles begins with the first comment. Great goal; go for it!

Please feel free to friend me. Over 40 here; 3/4 of the way to goal and looking to make that last push!

USA. Seattle, WA area.

That's awesome news! I hope to get there, myself. Congrats!

Like many others, I've gotta go with "everyone". Love the energy here!

It's mostly the dressing. We still use the Costco salad as our backup plan when we're short on time, but we have them keep the croutons, and we throw the dressing away as soon as we open it. Then we use either a low fat/low cal dressing from the store, or my wife makes her own vinegar & oil dressing. Doing it this way, the…

I was just thinking about this today. As of this morning, I am 3.1 lbs. away from dipping below 200 for the first time since...forever, it seems. And standing between me and that goal is Thanksgiving, which we're hosting, with a houseful of overnight company. How bad do I want it?

Don't give up yet! There will always be peaks and valleys. Just focus on what you're taking in, and take it one step at a time. It's kinda like a 12-step program: You have to face each obstacle one by one. Often, when I'm faced with a temptation, I'll think to myself "This time, I'll say no", and I'm usually able to get…

Very stormy here today. I stayed home sick, which meant that my wife had to drive the 30 mile commute by herself. I spent the next hour listening to the house resonate with havey rainfall, and all I could think about was her driving alone in that mess -- felt awful! I called her office as soon as I knew she'd be there. She…

Bigotry shows its ugly face in many ways, shapes, and forms. This is just another one. This woman obviously has no class and probably spends a lot of time wondering why no one wants to be around her. Kudos to you for taking the high road and doing what's right for you. Don't let this troll get to you.

Awesome NSV! Congrats!

I plan to stick to my guns pretty heavily before, then I'll probably let loose a little bit on Thursday...and I'll probably wind up letting loose a little more than I'd planned, and be OK with it. Then back on the program...got a month to prepare for the Christmas feast!

I have a long commute, and was already getting up at 4:30 every morning to get ready for work. This also gets me home pretty late, especially if there are any errands to run. So the idea of making time to exercise seemed almost impossible. But I knew that I had to find some way to make this work if I wanted to lose weight,…

Friend request sent. Excellent post! I, too, and a little anxious when it comes to sending friend requests to women. A sign of the times, I guess. I accept friend requests from people who are here for the same reason that I am: Looking for support and motivation as we reach for a better quality of life. There are other…

Great NSV, and funny, too. Go to your IT department, ask them for an ethernet cable, and use that for your belt. I've seen it done... ;)

Awesome transformation! Geat work, and congrats!

I still try to get out and walk every work day at lunch time. Some days are wetter than others, but a good coat & hat, and a nice pair of waterproof shoes, and I'm good to go. I kinda need that time and fresh air to reset my head and get through the rest of the day. If things get really nasty, my backup plan is to do laps…

Awesome rant! Hold onto that, and repeat it to yourself the next time a cookie calls to you.

I eat my food one thing at a time, starting with my least-favorite item, and finishing with my favorite -- unless saving it for last means that it gets cold. Then I follow the same progression with the warm foods. Drives my wife crazy. She also hates that I can suck on a piece of hard candy until it completely dissolves.…

Welcome! And congrats on starting your Journey. I am a Power 90 user, myself, and have had great success. Just keep pushing play! Feel free to add me, too.

I started in late June. I hit the 50 lb. mark in early October, and reached 64 lb. yesterday. I did it with diet and exercise: I work out 6 days a week, walk 3+ miles most workdays, and watch what I eat very closely.

I've tried WW in the past. The first time around, I had some success (I think about 40lbs), but eventually got to the point where it just wasn't working for me. I went to my weekly weigh-ins knowing that I'd gained, and not doing anything about it. I joined a couple of other times, with the same results. I knew what I…

Great job! Congrats!

They've got some good nutritional information with the P90X program. Eat from the top layers of Michi's Ladder as much as you can, and you can't go wrong!

Repeating what everyone else has said: Listen to your body. Do what you can, but allow your body to heal. When it does, you can set higher goals. *Any* exercise is better than *no* exercise. Meanwhile, pay close attention to what you eat. I remind myself that it took a long time to get to where I was, and it will take a…

Protein shake and a cup of grapes. Aternoon snack: Boiled egg, a piece of whole grain bread, and an apple.

Well done! Congrats! I'm right behind you... :)

Sometimes, I don't just fall off the wagon...I jump off and roll around in the dirt! See this for what it is: You hit a speed bump, that's all. It's what you next that counts. Just shake of the dust, climb back up in the saddle, and keep on keepin' on. It may very well be that much of your gain could be attributed to…

Weekends are tough for me, too. We're pretty regimented throughout the week and follow a set routine, but come Friday night--time to let the hair down and relax a bit, until it all starts again on Monday. And this is where the weekends fail me: Because I'm outside of the routine, I don't have my meals planned for the day,…
