  • QUESTION: How much water should I get in tomorrow before my 20K Saturday morning?
  • I've only done the DM Marathon as part of a relay team. Great fun!!! That's the only marathon experience I've had. What about Grandma's Marathon up in Duluth? I've also considered Omaha, but half only. It's good to hear about the Twin Cities. I've considered halfing up there too, as I have family there.
  • Nice, easy 3 for me  Last run before Saturday's 20K! Have a great day, everyone :flowerforyou:
  • There are several good on-line programs for you to follow. Try Smartcoach on Runner's World or FIRST also on Runner's World. There is also a Jeff Galloway program or Hal Higdon. Try googling them. I use SmartCoach; it has helped me prepare for two 20Ks-injury free! Best of luck, you can do it!
  • Rainman: WIll you be running Dam to Dam this weekend? I see you are in IA.
  • Good for you, Anna! :flowerforyou: :smokin:
  • Okay, how did you ladies go from Burn to Push phases? Also, I didn't follow the Burn eating plan. As I begin Push, should I start there or do the Burn plan? This week, I've tried to be sure to eat 6 small meals and to include more protein. I am definitely more satisfied and craving less sweets
  • Just finished six. I was scheduled for five, I'm tapering down before Saturday, but I am stressed out and grumpy today. Needed that extra mile, for sure!!! Oh, and I did it on the TM. Cool and rainy here today. I catch up on my soap (:embarassed: ) when I run on the TM. Would hate to waste my time of the trashy tv…
  • Hello ladies! I did recharge yesterday. It felt wonderful after my long run Saturday. This morning I did Burn It Off and Recharge. I need to re-read posts and see what everyone did as they finished the Burn Phase. I like Mondays to be my Day One and today was the end of my Burn Phase. I need to plan my schedule for this…
  • NAME: Kaylynne AGE: 39 STATUS: Married CHILDREN: 2 daughters: 14 and 9 PETS: 1 dog (113 lb. yellow Lab) Gus CAREER: 2nd grade teacher CURRENT RUNNING ACCOMPLISHMENT: Building distance and working on improving my times. I am slow, and I'm thrilled when I'm breaking 10 minute miles over a distance of 3 or more miles. CURRENT…
  • No run yesterday or today. Three on tap for tomorrow. 20K on Saturday
  • Purple: I have never had this happen, but have heard of it. Try bandaids or glide stick (prevents chafing). No Chalene for me today, but I did run 12 miles. Have a great weekend! I'm going to Costco laster, think I'll look for the designer whey.
  • Good morning! Just finished 12 this morning. Last long run before the 20K next weekend. I've been struggling with my WOs all week, but today went pretty well. My goal this week is the right fuel, plenty of liquids, and lots of rest so I can kick it next week. I like to eat half a banana before a run. I am bad about…
  • Evidently my brain is tired too. Didn't see the decimal before the 9-imagine my surprise that I needed over 1200 grams of protein :noway:  (and wow, that's a lot more that the automatically suggested 45!)
  • Thanks for the protein suggestion. Burn 3 for me. I'd like to get a run in after school, but it will have to be short. I have 12 miles scheduled for tomorrow. Last long run before my 20K next Saturday  I've been struggling all week with my workouts. My body is very tired right now. The end of the school year does…
  • I also did 5 miles tempo run this am with nearly the same times as Kechie. WIld. Today was a great run. Tuesday every step was a struggle and I stopped to walk a mile. I haven't had a run that bad since I started running. Strange how runs can be so different.
  • So how many grams of protein do you ladies strive for each day? I did Burn #2 today. I struggled through my run last night and then I struggled this morning. GRR! I had planned to run tonight, but instead I came home from work and took a one hour nap. I am trying to hydrate and rest tonight, with the plan of kickin' booty…
  • Lauren: you just replace the $30 system. I use a holder too, as Nikes don't fit my feet well either.
  • Used it last year and loved it!!! I appreciated seeing my distance and tracking my pace as I went. The Nike Plus saved me having to drive a new route to see how far I was going. Just an FYI: when the battery goes, you have to buy a whole new system, can't just replace the battery. Found out the hard way, and I still need…
  • Burn One yesterday for me. Upped some weights again  I'm ready the suggestions on adding protein to the diet with interest. I know I need to clean up my diet to really see the results I'm desiring. Any particular suggestions on a good protein powder?
  • Ran/walked about 4. For some reason, it was a struggle tonight :grumble:
  • ps: just tried the code for the select techs. Said it was expired.
  • 8 mile run this morning and just finished Burn #2 and Ab Burner. I agree, Jess, I love the bowler's lunges!!! ANyone else feel tight or sore in the lower back when doing the dead lift/row? I'm wondering if it's my form or just the muscles. Can't wait to work the triceps. Mine definitely need some tightening and definition!
  • I don't think that's slow either; I'm happy with 10 minute miles. I did 8 this morning-6 of them at 10 min/mi.
  • Four this morning. It was a beautiful morning here. I run through a local park, and this morning two does walked right in front of me. So breathtaking.
  • Burn One for me today. I upped some weights again. I think next time I'm going to go up to 25 on a few of the lower body/ab exercises. Has anyone looked at the Reebok weights at Target? They are adjustable; they will go up to 25 lbs. and are $59/weight. Alf: I'm obviously behind you, but I think I would wait to start the…
  • Eleven for me yesterday. No running for me today. Have a great day!
  • Hi all! Eleven mile run this morning, so no CE for me  Congrats on the too-big shorts :flowerforyou: Enjoy P90X. I did a round of it from Sept. to Dec. It is good; lots of pull-ups and push-ups!!! Alf: Hope you had a good run!
  • No Burn yesterday, so I did it today. Burn Three is scheduled for tomorrow. That will make back to back so I hope that is okay. Long run scheduled for Saturday, as well as lawn mowing and a softball game for DD so I won't have time on Saturday or I would do Burn It Off or Burn Intervals. What is everyone else up to?
  • Hi all! Four for me today and I got in 6 yesterday. I was supposed to do 7 but I pressed the snooze button and ran out of time. Today was scheduled for 3, but I added the mile I skipped yesterday. Tomorrow is just weights, and I have 11 scheduled for Saturday. Just 3 weeks until my 20K.
