I did this for three months last year. I had a "window" from 6 to 8 pm every evening when I would eat, and fasted the rest of the time. I "rested" the fast on Sundays. There are lot of studies that show that artificial sweeteners do not help you lose weight, and may even make it harder. If you must have something artificially sweet, I would do it in small amounts, and diet sodas are usually loaded with aspartame.

I suppose I should have been more specific about my goals. I don't really care to run for 13 miles, as I don't find running long distances particularly pleasant. I'd like to participate to meet people, and to have something to work toward. I plan to run part of the race to ensure that I finish in time.

This event in particular is a lot of fun, and many people walk it. I plan on running part way to ensure that I finish within the allowed time, and to make it a little more challenging.

Generally, only plain, pure water is considered part of your water intake. Some diets don't even allow for water with lemon, but I think that's silly :)

I've taken fat burners and had terrible effects from them. I called 911 once because they were giving me such bad heart palpitations that I thought I was dying. I'd stay away from them.
