Yes, I was wondering that one myself! I think I got the list from a body building website, and as I said, I don't agree with everything or buy everything on the list. Mayo doesn't belong, in my opinion, but anything is fine in moderation, I suppose! You can eat clean 80 to 90 percent of the time and…

Add some more healthy fats and lean proteins -- nuts, cheeses, and maybe a couple treats like coffee with half and half (mine), or dark chocolate. It's easy to find a few high calorie foods, just make sure they're the healthy ones.

I bow before anyone who can find the time and motivation to get in BOTH a morning and an evening workout! :flowerforyou: Today I'm struggling to get one in at all -- I still have a sick kid for whom I'm caring. I hope to do some kick-butt step this evening.

Hey, TRL  I just sent you a PM. As I said there, I think clean eating saves money because you can take all the processed foods off your shopping list and just buy what's essential for optimal nutrition. For example, one's shopping list might look like the one below. Obviously you won't need to buy every item every…

How do make "crack" for other people and not let it bother you? LOL  I always have a hard time with it. Maybe I just need stronger boundaries, or something. :ohwell:

Hey, FC! Glad to see your "bump" here every once in a while! What's new?

I'm increasing my calories again! When I joined in September, I started out with MFP's suggestion of 1200 and I did not lose, so a few weeks ago I went up to 1320, and then to 1400. During all that, the scale hasn't budged in either direction (beyond a couple pounds), and I've felt like I've been getting flabbier, if not…

So far so good! I've increased my calories from 1200 to 1320 and then to 1400 without gaining weight, or losing much, either (a couple pounds). Now I'm going up to 1559 based on the formula in the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle ebook by Tom Venuto. I finally broke down and bought it! Ironically, 1560 is what MFP calculates…

I finally got in a run today (1.6 miles on the treadmill) and a full body weight workout after two days of not exercising. I've had a sick kid in the house, so I have an excuse, and I'll take it. I've just been feeling a bit bored with my routine and have been having a hard time motivating myself, along with…

1.6 miles on the treadmill. Short and slow, but I'm going to keep doing them a couple times a week and hope my body can handle it!

Just plain tuna in a multigrain flatbread wrap. As plain and as clean and it gets, but I eat more for nutrition than for taste.

Here's what's been bothering me about Tosca for a couple of weeks now. I thought she was all about "eat more, not less," as long as you're eating healthy, nutrient-rich foods. She says that over and over throughout here books: Eat more food, not less. Then I found out that there are people doing something called the Cooler…

Count calories, don't count calories, weigh and measure your food, don't weigh and measure your food -- just eyeball it -- eat less, don't eat less; do cardio, you don't need cardio; follow a particular diet, don't follow a particular diet; work smaller muscle groups, only work large muscle groups. Aaahhh! My head's…

That is exactly where I am!!! Stuck on the last few pounds, and they won't budge! I thought clean eating would be the answer, and it's helping me in so many other ways, but getting me lean doesn't seem to be one of them. So I'm wondering -- am I eating too much, am I eating too little? Am I being too impatient? Am I just…

If I had it to do all over again, I'd definitely start out with whole, clean foods for my kids from the beginning. Unfortunately, I did the best I knew how at the time, so they were introduced to processed foods early on, and now they insist they like them better! :grumble: I thought I was feeding them a healthy diet, but…

I'm feeling discouraged, but I'm trying not to whine! Sometimes it's better to remain quiet until I'm feeling positive again. :grumble: I received two new books in the mail yesterday -- The Body Fat Solution, by Tom Venuto and The New Rules of Lifting for Women, by Lou Schuler. I think they're confusing me with…

Amy and dalawna, my husband and I lived in the desert in Tucson for two years before we got married. I think I've been dehydrated ever since! I've never been able to recover, and we left 14 years ago. My tongue still looks like a dry sponge, showing the indentations of my teeth on the sides. It's terrible that I've needed…

Thank you, dalawna! My secret to staying on the elliptical for so long is music! I have all my music arranged on my iPod by BPM, so I just choose the speed that I want and go. I make it a goal to get through every song, one at a time, until the timer on the machine ends. Sometimes I pretend I'm dancing or playing Guitar…

Happy shared birthday, furrflys! :flowerforyou:   :drinker:

It came for me today, too, on my birthday, no less! Thanks, Aunt Flo! :grumble:  (The good news is that I had pretty mild PMS this month, and I didn't even know she was coming.)

We all have nice stainless steel water bottles in my family, but I just don't drink it, even if I keep a bottle filled and have it with me at all time. And then there's the insomnia caused by having to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. :grumble: Maybe I should just start out slowly, adding a cup a…

Thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes! I started out my day with the gift to myself of a easy mile-and-a-half on the treadmill. There's NOTHING like a good run to make your day! I've stayed away from treadmills for the past year because of injuries after being a treadmill junkie last winter, but I think I'm…

**22** cups of water!!! :noway: I'm always amazed and envious of others' abilities to drink so much water. I've always had a hard time with drinking enough because I just don't want it. I have to force myself to drink it, except for when I'm working out. Got any tips or tricks?

I'm going to start the thread today because I gave myself the birthday gift of an easy mile-and-a-half treadmill run.   (I don't usually do treadmills because of past injuries, but I think I'm going to start doing a short treadmill run at least once a week.) I'm so itching to get back to running come…

It comes out in the bookstores today. This book is going to cover everything, but the emotional eating component is one of the most special things about it, I think. Can't say for sure because I haven't read it yet, but that's what some of the hype has been about.

Today is the release date of Tom Venuto's new book The Body Fat Solution: The Five Principles of Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscle, Ending Emotional Eating, and Maintaining Your Perfect Weight. Has anyone else preordered it and are you expecting it in the mail? I'm so excited -- this is going to be one amazing fat loss,…

Happy birthday to your dh!!! Life is full of strange little coincidences.

Thank you very much, FC, Jess, and everybody!!!   From an early riser on her birthday. (I think I'm a little nervous about my turn of age. :noway:  )
