The last thing to go is the fat inside your head, does that make sense? We get so used to thinking of ourselves a certain way that it takes a while for it to kick in that we're changed. The first time I lost weight, I was going around wearing a size bigger in jeans than I needed, and it took a co-worker to say, girl, I'm…

Hey girl, Scales are touchy little beasts sometimes, so don't let it get you down. Keep on doing what you know is good for your health, and the numbers will follow. Working out makes you healthy, and the scale will catch up with your efforts. :D

Yeah, The Daily Mail isn't exactly a reputable news source. It's like, US Weekly.

Great post! Excellent words of wisdom. I totally agree!

I have a grievance with drivers who don't use their turn signal, and drivers who use their turn signal inappropriately. You are often the same person. I wish you would come into my lane without signalling, because then I could sue you and win. Like I can read your mind or something. Like it's fun for me to be stuck behind…

I know exactly where you are, I've been there myself more than once. It's easy to start hating yourself again, but don't! Resist the temptation! The fact that you can recognize these things as slips means that you're still in the game mentally, and that's huge! Don't waste any time thinking about what you should have done,…

I got a brace for mine to wear during runs, just one of those fabric sleeves you can slip on that helps hold everything in place. It really helped during the run, and then of course icing it afterwards.

That's a great idea. Even light weights make a big difference over the course of a 30 min walk or run.

I love this. Leave it to a guy to put it in car terms. :) Thanks for the perspective!

I think that's a smart way to think about it. There are days when I'm famished after working out, and days when I'm not. So if I don't feel like I need them then I'm not going to force myself to eat them.

I hear ya! My goal for this week is to make it my best week ever! I just blogged about hitting my first 30 days here on MFP, and the fact that exercise has been lacking. So goal this week is to workout for 30-60 minutes every day. Also, to keep drinking my water. Wedding planning -- we decided over the weekend to switch…

I'm in the same boat. I'm scouting for healthier versions of favorites that the family will like. Also, I'm thinking I'll hit Bed Bath and Beyond or Target for some smaller sized dinner plates. Portion control is going to be a toughie.

I'm working on my baby weight as well. You can totally lose 10 pounds by the end of December, which may not be your birthday, but you can still say you lost 10 pounds by December, right? :)

When I know I have a big eating event coming up, say, for example, Thanksgiving dinner, I always try to fit in a workout that morning, an extra run when it might have otherwise been an off day, for example, to earn myself some extra calories. And then it's all about portion control and, like you said, splurging on those…

yeah, sounds like starbucks meets hooters.

I used an Omron HJ-112 Premium Pedometer, they're about $20 at Walmart, and it was great. You have to set it up to your stats, and measuring out your stride is probably the most involved thing, but even that only takes a minute. You have to like, walk a certain number of paces and average it out, the booklet tells you how…

Hooray! Looks like you're almost at your goal then, yay!

EBF = exclusively breastfeed. I have a 7 mo old, I'm BF as well, though she's also on solids now. If you go to your food diary and search for breastfeeding, it should bring up options to add, which then factor in negative calories based on the baby's age, so that your total allowed cals for the day goes up. Yay, add me…

That was my thought too. Sure sounds like morning sickness to me.

I did so-so last week. I mostly succeeded in drinking at least 4 glasses of water a day, which had been one goal. Workouts got stalled, unfortunately, but I did do fairly well on keeping close to my calorie goal each day, even with some candy thrown in the mix. However, my scale says that I GAINED 4.6 pounds from last…

girl you look fantastic!! Great job, I'm all inspired now!

Well done! Nothing like buying smaller chonies!! hehe.

I've been having the same feelings for the last two days, too much halloween candy and junk food with the Mr has left me feeling like a total failure. Thanks for posting about it, it really helped to not only see that others are going through it, but to see all the helpful responses. Because it's true, a slip here and…

Try not to let it bother you. It's obvious that she's feeling self-conscious about her own weight and rather than take a hard look at herself she lashes out against others. It's pretty typical of low self-esteem. That being said, if things happened the way you have them written here, I can see how she might have gotten…

Chewing gum is a trick I use too, keeps your mouth busy and if you get the dessert flavored ones it feels like a treat. If you can take a break and go for a walk that helps, or switch tasks to re-engage your brain. You can do it! Focus on you goals!

Hello! I'm a B2B, my wedding is in 299 days, omg! My final goal is 145, down from the 200 I was at after having my baby. I'm at 195 now, and my goal by Thanksgiving is 185. I would love to be a part of these weekly challenges, anything to keep the motivation and the accountability up! I did okay in general last week,…

I am thankful that my 17lb baby will keep on getting heavier, so I always have a weight that will challenge my upper body and abs. Today, we spent several minutes playing swing the baby up to the ceiling, and my biceps and shoulders are burning!!

I couldn't cross my legs because my thighs were too fat, and I was winded and sweaty all the time. It sure is nice to have shirts without sweat stains on them!

It's those things that seem so small that are always the best side effects of losing weight, because you didn't realize what you were missing before. For me, it was being able to cross my legs -- all of a sudden my thighs weren't getting in the way! And I also used to sweat profusely and it was always embarressing, but…
