Quinoa! And oatmeal (but not the instant stuff, go for the whole rolled oats). :flowerforyou:

Can't you just use the bikes during a time when there is no spin class? If that's not an option, I'd talk to the instructor of the class first to make sure they know you're not trying to be rude but just use the bike for that time slot :)

I cook my brown rice with lentils. The lentils take a little longer so I'll boil them for a little while first then throw the rice in there, add a little bit of soup seasoning, cover and let simmer for 20 minutes. It tastes great and the soup seasoning takes away the cardboard-ish flavor. You can add a little bit of…

You could wait until you leave for uni next year to buy a bike :) Then you're out of the house and can do whatever you want! It's almost winter anyway (assuming you're in the northern hemisphere) so a bike won't do much good now.

I'm getting married in September and have also been trying to drop some weight for the big day! Along with losing weight I'd like to tone up my chest, back and arms (since those are the parts that will be visible when wearing the dress!). I've never heard of the Buff Brides workout before though.

When I wear my HRM I burn about 175-190 for level 1, 230-250 level 2 and I haven't done level 3 yet. I think it all depends on your fitness level and height/weight. If you're already very athletic you'd burn less and if you are just starting you could be burning more. To know for sure you would really need to wear a HRM :)

Jewelry is always nice :) It's tricky though because most men have no idea what looks nice, so it might not be a bad idea to take her there and let her pick something out! Or get her something for one of her hobbies. Or a gift card to a place where she likes to shop!

Your money will be better spent on some nice fresh veggies :flowerforyou:

You look wonderful!!! What an inspiration :)
-
Wow you look great! I can definitely see a difference!

You need to understand that the scale is sometimes not the most realistic reflection of progress. Give yourself a few pounds of wiggle room and it won't be so difficult anymore :) What you should be seeing is a general downward trend from week to week, so if one day you're up a couple of pounds that's okay! Unless you ate…

Margarine is one of the worst things you could put in your body. It's basically plastic. Go with organic butter from grass-fed cows!! I love peanut butter (the one where the ingredient is only peanuts and no additives) + banana on my toast :) YUM!
-
That's amazing progress!! You look great, I can definitely see a huge difference...and in such a short time too!! Way to go!

I doubt any diet lasting only 17 days would be effective in long-term weight loss. The P.I.N.K. method might work for you if you need some sort of structured guidelines, but you could really save yourself a lot of money and just do it yourself! If you follow the MFP guidelines you will succeed. Slow and steady is the way…

My highest was probably around 3500....thanksgiving, no exercise, and there was LOTS of pie (and other goodies). I couldn't help it, everyone else was eating it around me and I totally caved!!
-
That sounds interesting!! I have a bit more than 10 lbs to lose but I'm sure the same method would work regardless of how much you have left? :) What channel/time is it on?

Hot green tea or oolong tea. They're so yummy and good for you! If you like it sweet you can add a bit of honey, agave or sweetener.
-
Sweet foods are my downfall! Cake, cookies, chocolate, ice cream...anything really. I just can't help myself around it :blushing:

I go to the tabata classes at my gym about 2 times a week. It's an amazing workout and I usually burn about 500-600 calories in 45 minutes. Definitely need a rest day or a light workout the day after it though

I made some very delicious cookies recently and they're only 83 calories each. They're apple caramel oatmeal cookies. Everyone in my family loved them and they disappeared quickly even though the recipe makes a large batch! Here is the recipe: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/caramel-apple-oatmeal-cookies-10000001964002/

You look amazing!!! Congratulations on your transformation :)

1200 net calories. So if you burn 300 through exercise you should ideally be eating 1500. It's easy if you start eating breakfast or lunch! Good luck :flowerforyou:

I burn 400-450 when I wear my HRM but I don't do it exactly like they do. I have to take breaks occasionally and I'm sure my form isn't as good when I start to get tired. If you do the moves exactly like they do in the video I could see it burning 600 :)

I'm going to eat what I want but stop when I get full and log everything. The number will probably still be high but I'll at least be aware of what I ate and make up for it the rest of the week! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd go with the Polar brand. FT4 and FT7 are both great! I have the FT7 and I love it :flowerforyou:
-
I did a 1 hour spin class with my HRM and burned only 600 calories (and it was a very intense class!). It depends on your height and weight of course, but I don't think those numbers should be that high... Good luck!
-
You can probably log that under circuit training. :flowerforyou:
-
That sounds about right! I don't have DC 2 but I play Zumba with my HRM on and that's usually 400-500 per hour! Games + Calorie burning = WIN

P90X or Insanity are awesome workouts :) But if you're going from 10 minute DVDs to this it might be a little too hard. Maybe try something by Jillian Michaels, like 30 Day Shred? Good luck! :flowerforyou:

The only things I buy there are things I can't find in other stores around here. Stuff like ground flax seeds, some yogurts, gluten-free flour, almond butter and quinoa. Occasionally I'll pick up some free-range chicken or grass-fed beef but the prices are so high, I'm not sure it's worth it!
