Hi all! I'm 45 and ready to get off this ride. I started tracking my food again on December 28th and am down about 7 pounds so far (only 39 more to go!

Hi all! I have gained and lost more than a couple hundred pounds (in 50 pound increments) over the course of my adult life. Can we be friends? I need all the support I can get! Thanks!

I'm in! Thanks for this challenge. Tonight is a half hour fitness class before 50 minutes of Taekwondo.

Hi there! I'm starting over...again...on MFP. I lost 50 pounds using this great app in 2011, and then just let myself slide back into old habits after working so hard. Now I'm tired of being discouraged and disappointed with myself. I know I can lose weight (I've done it many times before), but this time I have to keep it…

I'M SO EXCITED TO FIND THIS THREAD! I've been on MFP for almost two years and finally have my entire little family convinced to do a Whole30 with me. We're starting tomorrow. This is the first search I've done for Whole30 on MFP because I seldom use my laptop anymore (everything is entered through the app on my phone). I'm…

Hello ladies! My name is Carmen and I'm 42 years old. I'm married and have two teenage daughters. I've been on MFP for almost 2 years. I've lost 40 pounds, but recently my body has decided to rebel hormonally and I've gained back 10 pounds. I'm starting a Whole30 with my family tomorrow and I'm hoping that by eliminating…

Here's a quote from the Personal Best Nutrition website (http://www.personalbestnutrition.com/cgi-bin/pbn/articles/article24.html): "If you fail to ingest enough protein, your body will break down its own muscle tissue to get the protein it needs for survival. This mechanism, known as muscle catabolism, is convenient when…

I'm IN!!! My name is Carmen. My current weight is 175 pounds. In 90 days I would like to lose 12 pounds. I think that's reasonable and totally attainable. I have 25 more pounds to go, and if I lose a pound a week, that will put me at 12 pounds, just about half of what I still need to lose. I also want to run in at least…

My previous post was meant for you! I didn't hit "quote" before I replied (I'm a dork!)...

THANK YOU for sharing this website! I was totally cheating myself with my "guesstimated" calories burned... by 125 per class! Dang! (Maybe that's why I didn't gain anything during the holidays! )

THANK YOU for posting this! I started taking the Zumba class at my gym about a month ago and I LOVE it! The problem is it's only offered twice a week at the times I can attend. I was thinking about getting the Wii version just so I can do it at home on the other days of the week. Now I know what to get with some of my…

When I joined MFP in July 2010, I weighed 203 pounds and was "sausaging" myself into size 16 jeans (you know what I'm talking about! I should have gone up to a size 18, but I refused to buy clothes in that size). I'm 5'7" and currently weigh 175.5 pounds. I'm now wearing size 12 jeans and a large shirt. When I lost a lot…

Oh yes, I need this! I'm losing this weight slowly because I want it to be for the rest of my life. But I've been having "cheat" days way too often. I AM IN!!!

Thanks to everyone for your ideas and tips! I'm excited to try some of the products and recipes that you've told me about.

Thank you for sharing your tips! Where do you get the bread? I'm not familiar with Heartland brand. It may not be sold where I live. Maybe I can get it online or at Whole Foods. I appreciate your insight!

Sounds great! Thank you for sharing the link with me. I will definitely check it out! I would have to say that I miss bread the most. I used to love a thick chunk of warm bread right out of the oven dripping with some real butter... However, that's part of the reason I'm now using MFP! :blushing:

Sounds great! Thanks! I will definitely add these to my menu.

Thanks for the tips!

Welcome to MFP, Sierra! I'm sorry to hear you had surgery. I hope you heal quickly. :frown: You are going to LOVE this website! I've lost 17 pounds just by logging my food (I have to get back into an exercise routine). It's amazing how many calories I was eating before. Now I'm aware of what I'm putting in my mouth and…

I use liquid Stevia drops to sweeten my coffee, tea, etc. I get it at Raley's or Bel Air grocery stores, but you can buy some at a health food store. I used to use Stevia packets, but they didn't dissolve completely in my drinks. Now I sometimes use Truvia because it dissolves just like sugar. I even use it in my cereals,…
