Hey Kids - 44 in two days. I started this latest weight loss journey on 7/31/12, exactly 27 months ago. I started at 202 lbs and who knows what body fat %. I hit my goal 3 days ago (I took some weeks and months off over the past two years) - 5' 7.5", 160 lbs. Body fat will be confirmed on 11/7, but I think I'm between…

(I'm kidding, BTW)

Sounds like anecdotal evidence to me.
-
Prove it.

Read it somewhere and went with it. It works for me. Plus, each trip to the bathroom is more calories burned.
-
Danke. I've been on MFP for 2+ years and have lost 40 lbs on the scale and more fat. Trying to lose those last 5 for months... It's harder at 43 than at 23!
-
43 here. Now gitoffamylawn!!

Can't hurt, might help. I follow the body weight in lbs/2 = h2o in ounces per day rule, plus I add water on running days (4 cups) and lifting days (2-3 cups). Works for me and I feel great.

MOAR SCIENZE! :drinker:

A ferret. Purchased in NV but smuggled into California (where they are illegal, as wild packs of them may rise up and destroy livestock....allegedly). Excellent, excellent pet. Played well with cats and dogs and was affectionate. Always a crack-up and easy to care for.

Muscle. DUH. But neither weighs as much as 10lbs of excrement. It's science.
-
This. Chock full O good stuff in this thread.

Do what works for you. I subscribe to the body weight /2 in ounces per day method. I also "drink back" estimated ounces of sweat lost via exercise. My experience is that my skin looks better, I feel better, and I have not been getting sick as often as usual. YRMV.

Indeed. They need nurturing. Or something like that.
-
Turgid and/or moist. You win.
-
I'm in.
-
Perfect for low carb eating. I'd rather have fried chicken for bread than actual bread anyway.
-
I dream of the day that Founders is available in CA. Until then, the smuggling will continue.

...saw photo and expected broscience....my knee jerk reaction could not have been any more wrong. Such a great answer. Props.

Something went horribly wrong. I've used Runkeeper for over 2 years on iphones in my pocket. In that time, I have had 4 gps glitches - two horizontally (RK assumes that I'm jitterbugging a few feet every second) and two vertical (RK assumes that I'm dropping above and below the pavement a few feet every second), but 690+…

Great catch and thanks for submitting this.

Twice as much? based on time, perhaps. Based on distance, no. It is about 2:3.
-
Agree to disagree. I walk at about 4.2 mph. Could a 400 lb person? Likely not. 250? Sure.
-
In addition to other variables, what about ELEVATION? While I use Runkeeper and not MFP for my exercise cals, the burn varies greatly with the elevation climb. I ran 7 miles this morning at 8.5 min miles and burned over 1,000... and I'm about 166. I could see a large man walking at 4+ mph for an hour burning 900 kcals in…

Holy crap! You look fantastic and should be VERY proud of your accomplishments. Great inspiration and great work!

Agreed. When I started incorporating intervals, I found that my "standard" running speed increased. FWIW, here is the program that I follow for intervals/HIIT and I really enjoy it. http://www.trimmedandtoned.com/a-hiit-workout-routine-to-burn-belly-fat-fast I would suggest toning it down quite a bit to start, both in time…

Plusses - they look really cool and make you look like a boss. Negatives - vampire bait.
-
So much this. Treadmills are pure torture. Running outside is a breeze by comparison. Some thoughts - Audiobook Zombies, Run! Good cardio music mix. Trails and/or hills for built in intervals. Just intervals. Train FOR something, like a race or tri.

TTIUWP. kthxbye.
