Generally speaking, lean cuts and slow cooking do not play well together. Short ribs and brisket do well and neither is particularly pricey.

I didn't read it that way. I read it as (outside of the above) muscle gains can occur, but never anywhere near the rate of fat loss.

x2. The "IMPOSSIBRU!!!" to build muscle on a deficit statement is extreme and wrong. Impossible means that it CANNOT happen. Truth is, it CAN and it DOES. Particularly with newbies. Impossibility means NEVER. Sounds like you are fairly new to lifting. If true, you will pack on some mass and what you have will change shape.…

If one is eating at or near a deficit, and lifting heavy and trying to maintain LBM, doesn't it just make sense to up the protein intake? That, by design, will require a decrease in carbs and/or fat.

Almonds are really great for fiber (among other things). I also like the "Carb Balance" type tortillas: 130 cals and a TON of fiber.

My experience is that this is a new, odd occurrence in MFP. and perhaps even a coding error. I notice the same thing, but only on the desktop version, not mobile. Since they don't stock Colon Blow in my neck of the woods, I'm SoL. I just do the best that I can.

I get cold easier, but get sick less. And when I do get sick, it is less severe. I feel like staying really well hydrated has a big impact. Things - mucus and such - flow better, thus speeding up recovery. Probably just my perception, but I'll take it.

Forgot my favorite: You absolutely, cannot - under any circumstances - gain muscle while eating at a caloric deficit.

I've been lucky to not have any major brewing meltdowns yet. I know one is coming, though... I've had some bottle bombs and bad recipes, too..... who thought an IPA made solely with Magnum hops was a good idea? This guy. :sick:

Breakfast burrito - Carb balance flour tortilla (120 kcals, TONS of fiber) as many egg beaters as I want or 2 whole eggs, scrambled. (140 kcals or less) 2-3 slices of ham or turkey (50-60 kcals) Add in some salsa or hot sauce. Lots of protein and fiber Low sugar. .02
