My doctor is actually the person who turned me on to chia seeds, so that says something about their nutritional value! Putting them in smoothies does help me stay fuller longer. My ultimate favorite, however, is chia seed pudding! Add 2 T chia seeds with 1/2 cup milk of any kind (I tend to use almond milk). Let the chia…

I eat fruit every single day. It is not something that I would be able to maintain a healthy eating style without. Fruit sugar is different than processed sugar, fruit sugar is good for you. I eat up to 3 or 4 fruits a day sometimes, and I eat a banana every morning. I'm still losing! I would take away your sugar tab on…

Organic clean eating and taking care of my body nutritionally has become somewhat of a hobby to me. I now have a very developed taste and love for fruits, vegetables and whole grains - it's great. Organic eating will take some getting used to and adjusting (as well a figuring out how to budget, etc.) but once you start…

I add a little stevia to my smoothies sometimes to make them more palatable - you might consider trying it :)

I personally believe that its a waste of time to eat food that isn't good for you and then spend hours nitpicking yourself and saying "god, I can't believe I did that, I am such a failure" and on and on. Then, not only is the food you are giving yourself bad, but the internal messages are as well. Double the detriment to…

I eat salad greens with brown rice frequently. Although I love vegetables and greens and don't need any "convincing," eating vegetables like spinach, lettuce, etc. with some brown rice or stir frying some kale with some quinoa might help. You should also try a green smoothie! Add a base of banana, some almond, soy or…

Avocado, almonds, any nut butter, coconut - basically any healthy, high fat, high calorie snack. If I am under my calorie goal I will eat a tablespoon or two of almond butter, a half an avocado, 16 almonds... You can also make more of a meal out of it, for example, a piece of toast with banana slices and almond butter. It…

I think some other people gave some really sound advice in saying that this lifestyle change is about you and not anyone else. That is something each and every one of us will have to learn over time - that we cannot control or try to take responsibility for anyone else's food choices, and vice versa, we are generally…

I can't give up fruit or grains. I tried to go low carb for a while where I was supposed to eat minimal fruit and grains and it just didn't work. I LOVE fruit, and some brown rice and quinoa really help me get through the day. Oh, and raw honey! I could never stop eating raw honey. Well, I could, but it'd be painful. :P

Yeah, I think it is common. I know I have had that experience before with dietary shifts. Someone once said it to me like this "you have been putting these foods in your body for years, don't expect that damage to undo itself over night." I agree with this statement. Your body will take some time to adjust to its new way…

It has worked fine for me in the past. For me it was really important to have clear dialogue about what we wanted/expected, checking in on occasion, and mutual respect.

Some of these aren't exactly products, but foods that I generally keep around the house because I love them include: bananas greek yogurt 0% (mix w/ a little stevia and almond or vanilla extract - yum!) chia seeds frozen blueberries hard boiled eggs (kept in the fridge) brown rice!

ALMOND BUTTER. 2 tbs is almost 200 calories. Almond butter and a banana is 300. Avocado's are a good option too. Eat a healthy, calorie dense fat.

For me it was a diet change to clean, whole foods eating and the occasional indulgence in something I would have eaten before I changed. I simply don't have the self control to eat highly processed foods all the time and stop after a little bit because I think they are genuinely addictive. My body is also very sensitive to…

I did a low carb diet before and it involved zero to minimal fruit. It did not work out for me in the long term because I love fruit. I personally believe that fruit is healthy and I currently include it in my diet (which is not low carb, but a lot more balanced, and making me a lot more happy).

Same, I am 18 and will be 19 soon. Feel free to add me.

I could see not logging once I reach my ultimate goal weight... I think right now I have a pretty good idea of the calories in all my food, but I need to log it because I don't really have the wiggle room I'd have in maintenance. Since I am in a deficit still, I want to make sure I know if I go over, or frequently I am…

I completely have an addictive personality towards processed sugar, I know some people don't, but for a lot of people they do. For me, I completely cut processed sugar out of my diet. I still occasionally eat something with white sugar/flour in it, but it is not a regular part of my diet. Instead, I get my sugar from…

I am also a college student who's going to school full time and working part time. Here is the way I can afford to eat healthy foods: I have a low income card at my local food co-op. Maybe see if there is a store like this near you where you might be able to find this. Also, if they are accessible/suited to you - food…

Avocado, flax, almond butter, other nuts, raw coconut oil... yummm

Yep, I am a vegetarian going on 11 years. Feel free to add me!

I can't go days without eating because I will become unfocused an unable to sleep, etc. But yes, I do have days, sometimes a handful of days in a row where I just don't feel that hungry. On these days I will try to eat at least 1200 for my health. Other days I feel very hungry, more hungry than usual. If you can't even hit…

I take Equate Women's Daily vitamin. and I must take Vit. D - I'm on a very high prescription of 50,000 mg, in fact. I will get depressed otherwise. I frequently take B-12 and sometimes calcium too.

I used to eat a lot more carbs, the foods you eat are hardly a part of my diet any more except occasionally, but I did used to have a diet more like that. I think, for one, it might help you to talk to a nutritionist. A lot of people who are nutritionists understand food problems and will be interested and willing to help…

I couldn't possibly exercise during a migraine, I can't see anything when I get them. Getting through a migraine, for me, means lying in a dark room with no/minimal sound, and drinking water occasionally for 6-10 hrs. Unfortunately, when I get one I'm out for the day. By taking something like Excedrin, it reduces them to…

I've definitely had all the "you're getting way too skinny," even from people who have told me I was looking big before. The most annoying ones, though: I was sitting at the dinner table with my friends and someone asked me if I was going to eat something (if they should pass me the dish) and my friend says in a really…

I eat mostly clean foods. Lots of fruits and vegetables, some whole grains, minimal processed white sugars, some raw honey. I do not drink soda or juice.
