Wonderful NSV!! Congrats!

I've had mine since August 2013, best investment in my health ever! It literally makes me want to move and hit my goals every single day. I credit it with my desire to stick with my diet and fitness program as long as I have.

For 8 miles I'd say that sound pretty accurate. I generally figure about 90-100 calories burned per mile of brisk walking or jogging (for myself). You have to remember, fitbit makes adjustments to your entire day based on how active you are over all, so yes, you spent a good chuck of time walking and it will add in those…

Such a fantastic NSV and a great feeling!! Congrats! I had similar happen, a new employee where I work made some kind of "if I had a body like yours" comment...I was like WTF?!?! But in a totally good way :-)

Start SL 5x5, start light, go slow and learn form. Keep it simple to start and learn those 4 lifts. I've been doing it almost 4 months. There are tons of very helpful videos online, and honestly, once you get in the weight room, there will be some help, maybe not always good help, but watch the other people, learn from…

I've only been lifting since March 2014, my body weight is 149, just hit 155 on my DL this past week. I'm making myself progress slowly on DL as I have some back issues that I'm afraid to aggravate. Doing 1 set, 5 reps.

Don't wait, start now, you won't regret it. Being heavier, you already have a lot of muscle, strength training will help you hold onto that muscle while you are losing fat. I only wish I had started earlier.

I've been using fitbit for close to 10 months now, and I actually credit it with much of my success. It has seriously motivated me to move more and become more active. When I first started out I really over thought the whole process and whether or not it was truly accurate. What I've found has already been mentioned,…

This time around I started at 208 and honestly, it was probably a good 25 or so pounds before I noticed physical differences, and to be perfectly honest, probably closer to 40 pounds before they were significant differences (other than the loss of my breasts). The last time I lost a good bit of weight I was in the 240's…

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who finds this to be true. I find I have to put much more thought into the process during the summer. I've been losing slowly since summer hit, and pretty much for all of the same reasons already stated, cook outs, beer and other adult beverages, pasta salads, etc. Fall and winter are so…

The only way to get over it is to just go do it, and do it again, and again, and again. Walking through those doors will become easier every single time, I promise you. Two years ago I was petrified to walk into my gym and even use the treadmill, I felt like everyone was looking at the pathetic fat girl who could barely…

I lost mostly band size. Went from a 42C to a 36B. The first to go were my boobs, so for the longest time I thought I looked pretty disproportionate as was pretty upset about it, but now that the rest of me is getting littler too, I'm starting to look more even. I'm liking the smaller girls, as one else mentioned, running…

In 3 Months time, I will have lost the final 10 lbs, putting me comfortably below 140 lbs. I will see an additional 3% reduction in body fat, putting me close to 25%. I will be a few days away from running my first 10K, and completely confident I will finish it! Three months, three goals!!

OP, thank you, this is fantastic!

1) Age 35 2) Height 5'3" 3) Weight 147 (started at 205+) 4) Lifestyle: I consider myself pretty active. I lift weights 3 days per week and run almost daily. On lifting days I'll run a mile or two before or after my lifts, on non lifting days I'll run anywhere from 3-5 miles, sometimes I do intervals. I walk every morning…

I'm trying to get into this habit myself. For the past month I've been getting up a half hour earlier to at least get in a quick walk, in hopes that this will further spur me to get my full workout in before work. I still hit the gym in the afternoon for my "real workout" because I just can't seem to get into much more…
