  • I only log exercise as extra planned activity. Walking to and from work, the store, walking at work should be calculated into your activity level which is what your base calorie goal is set at.
  • I think it's right to do a compromise however saying I only do it for 30 minutes in the morning and I'm not stopping is not the way to go. Apartment living is a give and take and you do have to compromise. Maybe try to do your exercise at a different time. Doing it in the morning can be tough for those around you as they…
  • I would suggest another site like sparkteens.com MFP isn't designed to ensure those under the age of 18 get proper nutrition. You are still growing and need proper calories, proteins, etc.
  • It is most likely a lot of water weight which will come off soon. Unless you ate over 38000 above your maintance calories it's not fat gain. Some may be but not all. Give it a week and see where you are. Drink tons of water and eat healthy and it will be gone in no time.
  • Use whichever scale you use normally for your weigh ins. Different scales read different based on a lot of different factors. If you normally use your dad's scale for your weigh ins use that weight. If you usually use yours use the weight that one gives you.
  • Eat your exercise calories back. This site tends to overestimate calories burned so I usually only eat about 2/3s of them back. If you have a HRM you can eat more back. You should be netting at least 1200 as that is still a relatively low calorie intake.
  • I try to get some form of exercise in everyday, even if it's a small walk. I don't do heavy workouts everyday as I like to let my muscles rest. If I do weights I try not to work the same muscles two days in a row. I do believe you need some rest days as you can get burnt out if you are pushing it everyday in workouts.
  • I track everything! I don't see a point not to. I have done WW too and they say don't log certain things however like others have said, you could easily eat a few hundred calories of veggies in a day and if you don't track them you would forget. I like to have absolutely everything logged so I can look back on good weeks…
  • My fav protein shake/meal replacement is a mix of the protein powder I have, skim milk and a scoop of the no name meal replacement powder. I only do it if I am in a hurry because I couldn't live off them all the time. I mix the meal replacement powder with the protein on days I know I won't get enough protein from real…
  • For breakfast eggs are relatively cheap. Only $2 a carton here in Ontario. Oatmeal is also really cheap and if you buy a large bag it works out to be only a few cents per serving. Shop sales! Best advice I've ever gotten. Pasta is cheap and can be made into tons of different things. When my hubby and I were tight on money…
  • Do you trust your pharmacist? If so go speak with him/her about your concerns. Medical professionals are best when speaking about drug interactions. The protein powder I doubt will have any interaction with the pill. I take the pill and use protein powder. The diet pills you mentioned may. Speak with your pharmacist or a…
  • You should be eating so your net is your daily calorie goal without exercise. Your daily goal is 1200 which you eat up to. You exercise and it burns 800 calories your net is only 400 calories if you don't eat any of your exercise calories back. Your body can't run on 400 calories for long. You need fuel for your body (much…
  • They must be prescribed by your doctor in order to get them. As far as I know Canada and the US don't sell it over the counter. A doctor will only prescribe them as a last resort when you can prove you've done the diet and exercise thing (properly) with little to no results.
  • Whatever time of day you weigh yourself will be accurate as long it's under the same conditions each time (same clothing, liquids and foods eaten/drank, etc). Most people tend to weigh themselves in the morning as it's the easiest to keep it the same from week to week or month to month (whatever time frame you choose to…

  • Forget the crash diet... this is not healthy! You only lose weight temporarily. Keep on with eating right and exercising. Make sure you are eating enough and are switching your exercise up. The last few pounds will take a long while to come off :(
  • How much are you eating in a day?? You may be eating too little and not losing due to that. If you are eating more than enough you may be putting on some muscle while losing fat and therefore not seeing a loss on the scale.
  • You can overcome it however it has a lot to do with how much the skin was stretched, how old you are, how long it was stretched for and mainly genetics. There are TONS of moms here that have flat tummys. Be proud of the tiger stripes!!
  • I have tried the soup before. I wasn't the greatest fan of it. It gets REALLY boring after a day or two. I gained all the weight back I lost once I stopped and returned to normal eating habits. I don't believe it actually causes weight loss due to the soup itself... it's more of a tool (like meal replacement shakes and…
  • I haven't gotten coffee not from home in a while! Since my hubby got me a Tassimo I've been spending money on those discs than going out! We do now and again though... We usually go to Tim Hortons (there's one every five minutes pretty much where I live). When I'm feeling a latte or other special drink I will head to…
  • Why do you want to do it? A cleanse doesn't really do much for the body that it won't naturally do on it's own.
  • I had terrible acne when I was a bit younger. Nothing helped :( I ended up doing six months of Accutane. I didn't have any bad side effects minus everything (lips, skin, eyes, nose) being super dry! That was the worst of it. Haven't really had a problem since. When my acne started to flare up a touch last year my doctor…
  • I'm sure it does and there are numerous studies out there that a proper nights sleep can lead to lower weight. I wish I could get a full nights sleep most nights. I work shifts between days and afternoons so it's tough to have a normal sleep schedule... add in random days off during the week along with everything that…
  • I agree with the above. A bit of caffeine would probably do the same thing. These pills can be dangerous and they all say on the bottle that it must be combined with a reduced calorie diet and exercise... you can lose weight on just that. The difference in weight loss between those who took these pills and those who took…
  • Have the food you want... just smaller portions of it!
  • As another poster pointed out if you can't reach your calorie goals change up what you are eating so you are consuming more calories daily. It's not healthy to constantly be under your calorie goal (most people also suggest eating at least your BMR). Eating too little will slow down your body... sure you will lose weight…
  • I wouldn't worry too much if you go over as long as it's healthy fats. Your body needs fat to function. Olive oils, nuts etc are healthy fats that I wouldn't worry about as much.
  • What types of foods are you eating? That can affect how you feel. Is the 1800 including exercise calories? Have you drastically cut out sugar and salt (sodium)? When I don't consume enough sodium I get dizzy and feel weak. Could be it. Might be a good thing to go see your doctor and discuss it with him/her. They will be…
  • Save some calories for snacking at night. It's not a bad thing to eat at night as long as you are within your calorie and macro goals for the day.
  • Keep in mind you can't tell someone's tone when reading text on the screen. I know I wasn't trying to be condescending, can't speak for anyone else who may of posted. We responded with our reviews of the subject. A co-worker of mine tried this stuff and it did nothing. Personally I wouldn't waste the money on it. All these…
  • By one of your previous posts I suggest you speak with your doctor... "im 17, 105 pounds, 5 ft 2, and looking to get down to about 100 pounds. i had been doing really well on a 1200 calorie diet for about 2 or 3 months but then lost my period. i took that as a bad sign and told my mom about it. i then decided i had better…
