  • If you take it to a Jeweller, even one you didn't buy the ring at, they'll put a metal piece inside of the back to size it. It's just prongs to wrap around the ring itself & a straight bit to keep it from moving all around so it won't damage the ring. I nearly lost mine more than once because I wasn't ready to resize or…
  • If you go sign up to get their emails, you can get a bed bath & beyond coupon for 20% off. You never get off the mailing list, but the coupons can also be used even after they expire so I don't mind.
  • I've been wanting to make scones. Thanks!
  • No, I'm Lee :) Really, it's in my username.
  • I'll occasionally use sugar free Swiss Miss & a packet of Stevia to sweeten it up a bit more in my super strong coffee. It tastes decedent because I usually just drink black coffee.
  • I just try to be aware of where my sugar is coming from. I've been over the mfp limit by 10am because I ate a nonfat yogurt & a piece of fruit.
  • BUMP
  • I would, just in case. I make chili in the slow cooker once & did the quick soak listed on the back of the bag. The beans stayed gritty & hard no matter what I did. It was a waste.
  • That is disappointing. I could have a serving of full fat ice cream for about that.
  • My recipe really isn't any different except that I roast my red bell peppers & garlic. It adds a wonderful flavor & the oil that's used for that process is plenty for the whole recipe. Also, I find that if you heat the garbanzo beans for a few minutes before adding them, it's smoother, less gritty texture. I love hummus &…
  • I've wondered the same thing. I signed a contract before I really had any idea what I was doing & once I figured out I wanted to try lifting heavy, I had a conversation with the trainer, who is so skilled at his job that he read the directions off the machines. I need a work around.
  • I've always been the sort to just make up recipes as I go along, throwing whatever in so I've really had to change the way I cook. I still throw whatever I want together, but I've started measuring out how much I'm throwing in & entering it into the recipe tracker as I go. I'll even enter it into the tracker before I get…
  • Just one more day til the Angels take Manhattan! After waiting so long for series 7, Saturday's never come quickly enough.
  • I found this the other day on pinterest: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/03/soup-or-sauce-sos-mix.html It's basically a replacement for cream soups in recipes, you wouldn't even need the butter. I also did a google search to see if there are substitutes for the nonfat dry milk & came up with this link…
  • How are you planning on storing the other one in the packet so that it doesn't go stale? I always think "sandwich bag" but I lack follow through so it ends up with the sad torn wrapper sort of loosely folded over.
  • Looks awesome, I'll have to try this. Thanks!
  • Homemade chicken noodle soup. All the way homemade, I mixed, kneaded, rolled, cut & dried my noodles & they're cooking in a broth I made using bone in chicken breasts. 236 calories per bowl too. That's right, I rock. ;)
  • Allrecipes.com has a search filter that allows you to pick up to 4 ingredients to "include" & another 4 to "exclude." I know this isn't a specific suggestion but it's come in handy for me several times where I have certain foods on hand & can't think of anything to do with them. Since their database is always being updated…
  • If you don't have a crockpot, but you can still make soups on the stovetop. Most of the things people mentioned already can be combined into soups, stews or chilis & then eaten for a few days (which makes them convenient as well as easy). I also don't know how big your freezer is, but I know at my local grocery stores,…
  • It might be better to rely on your measurements than your weight for this one. While there are variations between brands, for the most part they have sizing charts that rely on hip/bust/waist measurements. Even then, it's not precise, but it's a way to get an idea.
  • I don't know what your go-tos are but my family loves meatloaf. I make it in muffin tins so that portion control is easier & use ground oats instead of breadcrumbs for the added fiber.
  • I read parts of it while standing in a Borders. I had to set it back down when they told me coffee was poison & I needed to give it up & switch to green tea.
  • That's awesome! I'm still constantly amazed by my ability to make conscious food decisions instead of just eating because it tastes good. Keep up the good work!
  • I don't actually trust myself not to binge, so my habit is to look at the package of any prepared snack I might buy & multiple the calories by servings. It's deterred me from buying quite a bit but if I just want it that badly, I'm taking ownership of all of the calories before I eat it. Woo empowered eating!
  • Ah, but it praises you right after it reprimanded you in some cases. I'm set to 1200, so any time I'm below, the auto-generated message is sure to let me know that this is a path to certain death. Then if I go to the home screen, it's all excited & using exclamation points. MFP might have a mood disorder.
  • This may sound crazy, but coffee doesn't have to be bitter. I learned this when a friend made me a cup in her French Press. Over time I've gone from only drinking coffee that had so much stuff in it that I couldn't actually taste the coffee to drinking coffee completely black. That being said, I've probably become a bit of…
  • I'm an antisocial MFP'er. I had friends but I had to drop them because seeing what they ate, lost & exercised was making me overly critical of myself. Some might say just don't look but I'm way too much of a voyeur for that. :)
  • Make sure you're actually weighing & measuring your portions. When I bought my digital scale is when I discovered there is a very real difference between what I thought a serving of chicken was & reality. Good luck!
  • Have you tried the dress on as is with spanx? If you got the ones that go to the bottom of your ribcage, there shouldn't be a gap between garments. Although you may need to test drive using the restroom to make sure that's still possible on the big day.
  • I like to add some crushed red pepper flakes to my soups. The spice helps me feel full faster & I really like the flavor.
