I'm in! Getting back into running....if you want to call it that...I had been running for 6 mos then stopped...so still a beginner. This is a great motivation!

Thanks for the recommendations! I never thought of just writing down the stuff that's important to me in a treadmill before going to the store! Seems so simple and makes the whole process less overwhelming! And a NordicTrack for that price...heck I'd put it together myself too!! Ooo....I'll check on Ebay for local…

OK....gotcha! About the calorie burning...I was totally thinking of working out/burning calories (like you burn 600 jogging, etc.)...NOT just in general....so that's why my calorie burn # on the dashboard is so high! I gotta change that back....I had lowered it. To see how much I burn for exercise, do I just start the stop…

Thanks everyone! From the research I did, it was the most bang for the buck....at $99.95 as opposed to close or over $200. I found them on Amazon for $96, and I got my hubby one too...blue for him, plum/pink for me :)...and with free 2-day shipping (I'm a Prime member), I couldn't beat it! I'll be sure to find the FitBit…

i have a walking app on my iphone...i kept it in my pocket as i walked the parks and bdur76 is right...you have no idea how much you walk each day! i walked an average of 5-miles a day w/o even trying. just be smart about what you eat and have a magical time!

Thanks guys! I feel better now! My sister said it was a blast...really the most fun she's had at a 5k ever! It's also good to know about half-marathons...they always seem so intimidating...but knowing I could walk/run it definitely puts it back into being one of my goals.

thanks everyone! i had read the about the potassium thing right after i posted this (maybe i should've done it the opposite way...LOL). i have plenty of iron in my diet...i have a spinach smoothie everyday...i'll try adding more potassium-rich fruits and veggies and see if that works. thanks again for all of your help!

i haven't done zumba, but i will tell you that i love leslie sansone's videos....easy to follow, low impact, and a great workout. i love that i'm done with the workout before i know it...instead of wishing it would be over 5 minutes in.
