I'm not giving up anything; I've decided instead to ADD some things during Lent: more focused reading and entertainment, all aimed at helping me spiritually and physically. I bet you're not eating enough calories. If your body thinks you've entered starvation mode--then it lowers your metabolism. Thank you Darwin! A good rule of thumb that helps me: eat every 3 hours. I put it in cereal, oatmeal, yogurt--anything that I can think of. Its a wonderful source of fiber.
