*******I believe that a marriage relationship is the most important relationship.********** When my husband and I feel uncomfortable or feel like something is coming between us, we talk about it and try to figure out where those feelings are coming from. Have a heart to heart with your husband. Maybe he has good reason to…

Sounds like you'd rather not be married. Your husband feels uncomfortable for some reason. You may not think you are doing anything wrong, but your preference for these other friends is getting in the way of your marriage. You truly do need to make a choice and it sounds like you are choosing your friends.

Take a break and go to maintenance for a week or two. Dieting is sometimes harder for your mind than your body. I have chosen to give up dieting period because I found I could not keep it up longer than three months at a time. I exercise every day and eat whatever I want until I am full. I have found that since I do not…

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Nuf said!!!!!!!!

The problem with Americans? Super Size Me. Plus we eat too much sugar. Also, too many yo-yo diets. If people truly ate in moderation and kept moving there wouldn't be the problem there is. I don't think there is anything wrong with allowing yourself rich food on occasion if you don't over-indulge. Life is too short. Just…

Great attitude Cherylpj! I'm glad you are looking for progress in ways other than the scale.

**** Intuitive Eating.****I have never truly been over weight but have always had issues with dieting and thinking I'm fat. I was bulimic in high school and have struggled with a healthy body image for many of my adult years too. This book is a great way to get to a point where you no longer worry about your weight and…

Smart advice.I am 5'3" and have never according to BMI never actually been considered overweight, but I was approaching the upper border when I joined MFP. After losing 13 lbs. I could not lose anymore. I was eating only 1200 calories a day, I had increased my activity and my weight would not budge. I became discouraged…

I don't necessarily want to lose anymore weight (I've lost 13lb.). Originally I wanted to lose a total of 20 lbs. but since I've hit a plateau, I have been using measurements instead of weight to see my progress. Although I have not lost anymore weight, I am measuring smaller. That is more important to me than what I…

Because I am only 5'3", weight loss is a very discouraging endeavor. I will lose weight at first and then just stop for weeks or months. Of course, at this point I get very discouraged and blow it. Not this year. This year is going to be a good one. I am no longer going to worry about weight or "dieting." I am going to…

I like the idea of getting your sister involved. Two heads often come up with better ideas than one. Good luck. Sounds like the meeting could be an exciting event.

If I deny myself, I'll just eat more later. So, I give myself a small/normal sized piece and walk away.

Chobani is good. I also like Fage plain with a tablespoon of honey.

Utah does have the "greatest snow" AND unlike Colorado, the mountains are much easier to access from the city. You can stay at the resorts and ski or you can save money and stay in Salt Lake City, rent a car and drive a measly 20-30 minutes to the ski resort. Just sayin'.

Core exercises will tone and strengthen your middle. Try a yoga class or dvd. But having said that, even though you have lost weight, fat around our middle seems to come off slower than other places. Do your core exercises, keep up with your diet and eventually you will notice a more toned stomach and back. Congrats on…

Good idea!

Just keep doing what you are doing. Maybe you got extra activity in that you didn't account for. Or you may have weighed yourself when you were a bit dehydrated. Do not worry if it goes up a little. You have to live life and celebrate. If you are good most of the time a little slip up isn't going ruin all you hard work.…

Oh and congratulations on overcoming an eating disorder. That is a very big achievement. I believe exercising on a regular basis will help you to continue to feel positive about your body. I had an eating disorder as a teen and young adult. That was many, many years ago, but staying physically active has helped me to feel…

I think a good idea would be to start exercising with her--go to the gym or a dance class or walk together. This way you can begin to tone up and get in better shape while at the same time all this extra time together will give you a chance to better understand her situation. If she has an eating disorder, true signs of it…

I've lost 13 so far but have 10 to go. It is getting really discouraging. I'm exercising more than I have since my pre-children days and I'm eating healthy but I have not lost a pound in over a month. It makes me want to binge. Any suggestions?

My hips hurt when I jog so I don't jog. Talking to your doctor is a smart idea, but if the pain persists you may have to do what I have done and choose another type of exercise. I'm much happier with biking, zumba and yoga anyway. Good luck!

Exercise is way easier for me. It has been a integral part of my life since I was a kid. I also have always eaten healthy food for the most part, BUT I love to eat and have a problem with portion control. So exercise over healthy eating for me for sure.

All I have to say is KARMA. She will get hers!

Tylenol doesn't really reduce inflammation much, but ibuprofen does. So if it gets bad, a ibuprofen or Motrin will work. If you want to stay away from meds, yoga is the best or just some stretches.

I have found the fluctuations on the scale curious too. The closer I get to my goal weight, the less I rely on the scale because it seems to go up and down in a very random way. I have been working out much heavier on certain days and that seems to make the fluctuations worse. Instead of relying only on the scale, I base…

Go to maintenance calories for 2-3 weeks then back down to losing weight calories.

Time. Time. Time. I was just complaining to my husband about this issue last week. I, as is true for many people, seem to lose my weight around the middle last. Just keep up the good work. It will come off...I hope sooner than later. As far as eating or not eating certain foods: there are certain foods that bloat me, but…
