  • OMG.. me with Oreos. Americans have SO MANY FLAVORS of oreos and I want all of them in my mouth! LOL. I pick each one up and think "well wouldn't that be nice, oh I bet birthday cake is good.. oh man, reese peanut butter flavor.. is that blueberry pie? What is that flavor? but look at all that sugar.." and put it back.…
  • This week and last haven't been my best. Taco bell, Arbys and Mc Donalds :( June's been my worst month by far but I've had a lot of things in my personal life go wrong and of course turned to comfort food. Today's a new day. I've resolved as much as I could in my life and diet wise am getting back on the wagon. We all…
  • In this instance, how we grew up with food and our relationship with food can have an impact too. When you're sad I'm sure you're not chowing down a whole bunch of celery, your mind goes straight to the thought of junk-type food. It might stem from when you were a kid, if you got hurt you were given junk to make you happy…
  • I'm sorry that happened to you. I've seen people lose their IT jobs because they were sent offshore and it's a tough thing to watch. Big companies wanting to save a few bucks so they made people in our group train their replacements that went offshore. Scary with all these trade bills like NAFTA and the TPP just ship off…
  • Do we? Are we told that when all this crap is airing on TV? Of course the people on these boards know that, you and I know that, but do the general public know that carbs are digested differently than protein or fats? All people know is calories, calories, calories. We are told by people "oh, just eat less, cut calories,…
  • I can't tell you about everyone else but I'll tell you what goes on with me. For me, not all calories from all foods are equal. What I get out of a hardboiled egg is much different than a piece of toast with peanut butter, and I don't mean just the basic nutritional value of it. What comes with that toast is the "need" or…
  • This is me!! For years I was one of those people that just accepted that I'd never have kids, and a few months of low carb eating later.. bam. It angers me that this diet isn't shown to women struggling with fertility issues, it really does help a lot.
  • Like anything else on the internet I found it on Reddit back when Reddit was good and followed down the rabbit hole until I stumbled upon the /r/keto subreddit. From there I was directed to use MFP to set up macros. People there were very friendly and helpful and it was impressive seeing everyones progress pics. This was…
  • Dude. Work on your confidence. This is KEY. You can be a big guy and still get a girlfriend. Even if you don't feel confident, just act it. You're allowed to like things about yourself, like you're a nice person, you're humble, you're a loyal friend or whatever else. OWN it! I gotta be honest, find a hobby and work on…
  • I'm sure people think granola bars and nature valley bars "taste healthy" too but it doesn't mean it IS healthy! It's either healthy or it's not, and it sounds like it's not, lol. If they asked for your honest feedback, give them it. We're all going to be reading the labels and I can already tell you that I'm not buying…
  • Also if you use IGs search function for keto, lowcarb, lchf or lowcarblife etc you'll find lots of others to add as well :)

  • I'm surprised they didn't talk about the benefits for diabetics or women suffering with PCOS. Keto & low carb dieting have done wonders for me, I feel so much better eating this way then downing garlic bread and spaghetti for dinner. I mean sure, it tastes better, but I felt like crap afterwards!
  • I like mine chopped into french fries and baked with salt.. a healthier version of fries :)
  • I'll add you! I'm at 254 and my highest was 308.
  • Kale chips, parsnip chips (can be found at whole foods or trader joes) and cheese or pepperoni that are baked into crunchy chips. Costco sells Parmesan chips too. Can you tell I love chips? lol. I'd suggest almonds but I know you already know about almonds!
  • Congrats all on the weight loss! :)
  • Sounds like you have gotten great advice already so I'm just here to cheer you on. Dang it this thing deleted my whole post :( keep us updated!
  • Old spaghetti factory is similar, even their salads are loaded with carbs and sugar. The only thing I can have there is the broccoli with marzcapone cheese. Their meatballs even have bread. GRRRR! I have to bring mfp with me and pre-log items before I order.
  • You said you've tried it before and you were like a zombie.. so which is it? If you aren't interested in losing weight and have no medical reason (ie diabetes or PCOS) then why restrict carbs to such a low amount? Not trying to be a b*tch just trying to understand what you're going for. If you've done low carb for at least…

  • I've made cloud bread/oopsie rolls and they were pretty good. You have to let them cool down and store them in a ziplock baggie or they will harden up. You can also sprinkle on everything bagel spices on them to give them a bagel flavor. You can toast them and spread peanut butter on them instead of eating regular toast.…
  • I make cauliflower rice to replace my basmati. It doesn't soak up the sauces as good but it's better than nothing and adds a ton of vitamin C and other nutrients. You can also look up cloud bread or oopsie rolls and use them instead of naan bread. Any recipes that call for yogurt you can use a low carb full fat yogurt,…

  • I don't care for them for long term, you don't learn much by just making a protein drink for every meal. Cooking meals forces me to learn how to cook and gives me a greater variety of meals, and the fiber from that keeps me full. Every now and then for a fast breakfast or dinner of course would be fine.
  • I usually do this if I'm planning on going out to eat. I'll look up their menu and plug it in so I know what to order and I know what to budget for for the rest of the day.
  • You can eat high fat at 1700 calories but high fat means around 70%, not 90%. So you can eat a bunch of low calorie veggies and lean meats and be well under 1700 and still have room for high calorie fats, if that makes sense. If you eat fatty meat then you'll have to cut back on fats somewhere else, like added oils or…
  • Congrats!!
