I save bacon grease. Anything I don't want goes into the compost bin. Just don't dump it down the sink!

Personally I don't think any diet should be restricted by X amount of calories. Do your best to stick to being under your carb goal then eat how you feel like eating that day. If you're super hungry, eat extra healthy fats that day. Throw on a little more olive oil onto your broccoli before roasting it. Eat 2 squares of…

It happens to some and it evens out around 3 months in, give or take a month. If you have PCOS some women who haven't had much success getting pregnant find themselves pregnant, not sure if the cysts heal or what happens. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1334192/

Yup, anytime your arms aren't swinging it's not counting your steps. It was frustrating to see hubby easily get 10-20k while I got maybe 4k while pushing a stroller. I put it in my coat or jeans pocket and that seems to help. Although, kind of defeats the purpose for having a watch tracker to begin with, lol.

I remember going to Goodlife and it was very pricey even with our work discount that we got. Well over $100 a month. Seeing everyones responses here I may look into a YMCA now that I'm in the US :o

This sounds so good!

I have a 3 year old - feel free to add me!

If you're into house/club music, check out the MixCloud app and search for your favorite DJ. YouTube stripped down all of my favorite songs due to copyright issues and that's where the DJ stored them as backup. This guy is my favorite: https://www.mixcloud.com/djPeeTee/ I also have spotify/google play for other stuff I'd…

There's a big support group for vegetarians and vegans using keto on Reddit, not sure about MFP. Look on the main /r/keto subreddit for the links!

100%! I'm pre-diabetic and have to be careful about where my carbs come from.

I'm on the spectrum that eats more veggies than meat and I have no constipation issues. I don't eat rice or grains. I do eat almonds and walnuts and 2 squares of 90% dark chocolate almost every night :) Adding more green veg should help with your constipation as most of them have a high fiber count. You do want fiber!…

I echo Samantha's advice! Spot on. Some days like yesterday I snack to a point where I don't have dinner so I just don't eat it. Some days I am SUPER hungry and chow down on low carb food. Don't feel guilty! If I find myself overly hungry I add more fats and protein to my meals - avocados, almonds, cheese, hard boiled eggs…

Yep, like I said you may not want to be like me and eat the whole bag in one sitting, lol. I had room in my diary so I went for it.

I agree, Quest and Oh Yeah! One bars have them beat texture and flavor wise! Just not price wise :) I love the double chocolate chunk and Smores Quest bars.
-
I'll be honest - personally I don't think they taste AS GOOD as Quest bars. Quest bars are thicker and not as dense as these. These are much chewier. And obviously you only get two kinds instead of having a free for all of your choice in Quest bars. But for me, they were still worth the 18 bucks I paid for them and I'll…

I make my coffee into my breakfast by adding heavy whipping cream and some sugar free syrup to it, then I eat a decent sized lunch and a big dinner. I tend to snack at night so not having breakfast is not a big deal, and I like having bigger dinners. It all evens out to the same 1500 calories no matter how you slice it.

@wabmester I'll have to find those, thanks! They sound similar to the Costco ones I've seen people rave about: http://www.costcochaser.com/blog/cello-parmesan-whisps-9-5-ounce-bag/

It's a script I installed with an extension. Info here: https://github.com/Surye/mfp-keto-userscript

Great job, Cobb salads are awesome! My favorite swaps are: Red Robin - swap fries for steamed broccoli, lettuce wrap the burger Subway - Any sandwich in a bowl. Look up the dressings before you order. My favorite is the double chicken salad. Any steakhouse - Grilled chicken or steak, no sauces. Seasonal veggies on the…

Most restaurants will offer seasonal veggies. Ask what they have. I always get broccoli from Red Robin instead of the fries!

Don't get frustrated! I echo the advice - change your carb intake to %5 net carbs and up your fat intake. Most of your carbs should come from veggies high in fiber and a little bit of high fiber fruit (ie blackberries or raspberries). Make sure your deficit isn't so low that it sends your body into some sort of starvation…

You can't tell them not to eat carbs? That's sad.. Can you give them resources on what carbs do to your body as an educational thing and let them decide for themselves? Many people including myself years ago had no idea carbs turned into glucose once they enter your body. The whole "healthy grain, whole grain" thing was…

Oh my god, I love America. You guys have the most amazing flavors of Oreos. Fat me really wants to buy both of these and chow down but thinner me doesn't want the carb/glucose spike. Dang it.

You can say no bread, no chips. This really depends on what diet your following/what your nutritional needs are, so here's what I do. I've ordered appetizers and asked for vegetables instead of tortilla chips, usually they have celery, broccoli or carrots they will give you. Lettuce wrap burgers, omelettes (no pancake…

@samanthaluangphixay I noticed that, and I don't think MFP even lets you enter in sugar alcohols separate from the carbs/sugar option, I'm not sure on that though. I went a few days back and picked entries that specifically said "minus sugar alcohols", so if those were yours, thanks! Haha.
-
I'm glad there's low carb options out there, but I still prefer to lettuce wrap things if possible. Extra vitamin A, C, Iron and Calcium. Lord knows I need Iron. Nutritional info: https://g.co/kgs/FwUI4V

I just installed this, I had completely forgotten about it. This is amazing!!

24 net carbs sounds right!
-
I show the fiber column just to see fiber content, I don't aim to have that much fiber. Then I subtract my total fiber from my total carbs to get my net carbs. On a perfect day I'd get 20 or less, but realistically I have days where I go over. Some people are fine with 50 or less.

If you're just starting, don't set the deficit too high. I think the tool tells you that. Aim to lose 1-2lbs a week. Give yourself time to learn new recipes and figure out your macros. Once you have that down, then start restricting calories more if you want. I think I started around 1800 - 2000 calories a day for 3-4 days…
