Some days I'm more hungry than others. If I keep calories too low over a long period of time, my hunger lets me know lol. If I'm hungry I just eat more keto friendly snacks. Almonds, a protein bar, boiled eggs, celery with ranch dip, whatever I need more of to fit my macros basically.

The new Kirkland/Costco protein bars that are 3-4 net carbs. The box of them cost around $19 which worked out to be less than $1 a bar. They're pretty tasty! Smaller than Quest bars though. http://images.costco-static.com/image/media/500-1076882-847__1.jpg

I put hard boiled eggs in salad sometimes, like a Cobb salad. Deviled eggs are nice too with salt, pepper, mayo and a little bit of finely diced dill pickle or relish for some oomfh in the filling.

I never realized kale was the key ingredient to turn everything into a St Patricks day theme

I'm pre-diabetic as well, feel free to peruse my diary for ideas. I cut back on all sugar where possible (obviously I can't remove natural sugars from blackberries or raspberries) and stick to low carb. I usually have one cheat meal every week or two as well, Sunday was my last one :) Things I usually eat: Chicken, pork,…

You read my mind! I am making a cauliflower "mock and cheese" recipe tonight, and I'm going to add bacon. I found the recipe on youtube; it's blocked at work but it's called cauliflower mock and cheese :) I'm sure you'd just have to chop, steam or boil the cauliflower, drain it, add it into a pan, pour your cheese mix over…

NSVs over my weekend: Bought two new pairs of pants that previously were too snug for me to feel comfortable buying. The jeans were on clearance so that was a bonus! Had a cheat meal for brunch on Sunday and still didn't go over my calories for the day. I ended up making a big batch of beef stir fry for dinner that was…

Turkey bacon is fine, just make sure you're eating fats as well, don't cut out the fats. You should be eating food to fit your fat/protein/carb macros and also thinking about what vitamins you can get out of it. So if I had turkey bacon and I found I didn't have enough fat in my meal, I'd add full fat cream to my coffee,…

Very cool. I wouldn't go as far to say snacking makes you fat, it's what you're snacking on that may or may not make you fat. I do like to snack on dark chocolate and almonds!

Great advice, but I doubt it specifically targets belly fat. It's great for overall health of course! If we could target belly fat us ladies would avoid boob jobs altogether and just get fat to gain a few cup sizes then lose fat and sleep more to lose just the belly.

Choose a veggie high in fiber. I really like roasted broccoli and cauliflower drizzled in olive oil and cooked with garlic. You can sneak veggies in pizza too.

I thought they did a good job with Lilo and Stitch, the characters weren't the typical super skinny princess types and the characters were fantastic. Fun fact - Brave was the first time they had to animate curly hair on a princess and that process took months. For the longest time they avoided curly hair just for animation…

Holy moley what a fantastic thread, thank you!!

This looks amazing!

I liked a few pages on facebook, they always post really good looking low carb recipes. Low Carbing Among Friends, Low Carb Zen, and Low Carb Keto Diet are nice pages. I also use IG but cannot link to it on the main forums, lots of people there using #lowcarb #lchf or #keto all post low carb recipes so that has been…

It really depends on what you're cooking. Beef - salt, pepper, montreal steak spice and w. sauce. Sometimes garlic and cumin. If I want it spicy, I add cayenne pepper. Chicken - olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. Rosemary is good too. Sometimes just salt and lemon if I want a simple chicken breast. Vegetables - olive oil…

Thank yo, these are great!!

My number 1 craving yesterday was a cupcake.. and I had it. Extremely sweet frosting. Got a headache immediately after :( I did so well the rest of the day too, resisted pancakes at ihop, resisted super sweet frappuchinos at starbucks, ordered the most low carb friendly item from a Chinese food place.. lost it at the…

Katie whoever said that to you might be jealous. I get the feeling you might still be in school? If you're in school stick to what you're doing and work on your confidence, get involved in something you enjoy - sports, art, music, dance, whatever you like! I was in your spot too and other girls are just out to bring you…

I think there's some confusion around low carb diets in this question. I'm eating a low carb diet but do not agree ALL carbs are bad, I don't think anyone thinks that. Obviously carbs in broccoli and leafy greens are MUCH better than the carbs found in breads and pasta. Most low carbers go by NET carbs not total carbs,…

Holy crap I just realized I'm out of the morbidly obese category and into the "severely obese" category! Yay! I know it doesn't sound good compared to some people but considering I started in a high 40s maybe even 50 It's great for me so far. I'll take that NSV any day. Congrats to both of us lol!

NSVs over the weekend: - Refused a very chocolaty fudgey brownie a mall vendor was trying to sell me on while I was trying to buy my daughter a small cookie. When he kept going on about how fresh they were I told him I have diabetes (I don't) and he finally stopped. - Tried on a pair of shorts in a size that I previously…

You can't control what he does or eats, cook for yourself and your kids and he can be on his own to make his own meals or tv dinners or what have you. A lot of us end up making separate sides or meals for ourselves. For example, we might make tacos but I'll have my fillings on top of a salad and he'll have his in taco…

Blood pudding. Very high in iron and delicious. Steel cut oats are also very high in iron.

I restrict carbs because they slow down my weight loss progress. I eat meat for lunch and dinner.

You could make a baked mac and cheese dish but use cauliflower instead of macaroni. That's like a lighter version of what people would normally eat here and shouldn't break their calorie banks. BBQ chicken/burgers would be a must too! I wouldn't do 100% american stuff either, you want them to feel at home too so make sure…

Erm, I'm not sure what you mean by leftovers but yes I log it. When I make something, I divide it up into portions, and therefore it divides the calories and nutrients by 4. The portion I'm going to eat that night, and 2-4 other portions for lunches and dinners. Every portion I eat I log. If you logged 4 meals in one night…

You should reach out and talk to your family about it and tell them what is making you depressed, if you know what it is. Maybe talking to them every day will help ease your loneliness. But also, find something to do during the day other than work that will give you something to talk about! Go to the mall and look at…

If you're not exercising you'll need to change your diet. From what I've seen, Keto and Low carb are very helpful for PCOS. This means your carbs come from veggies, not fruit, bread or pasta. Cut out all high carb products (oatmeal, bread, milk, fruit, sugar especially) other than what's in veggies. Don't eat LOW FAT…

You can update it by going to Home -> Goals and editing the box that has carb/protein/fat listed. I prefer high fat moderate protein, but it's all personal preference.
