  • I drink 3-4oz of red wine on occasion. If you drink too much it will knock you out of ketosis.
  • I haven't gotten my bloodwork done but my Dentist commented on how good my blood pressure was. I think it was101/60 when I went in late January. Other things I've noticed: Walking is easier Less asthma attacks Down to maybe 1 or 2 headaches a month if that. Now I can pinpoint something I ate just before the headache and…
  • B - Venti blonde with steamed heavy whipping cream L - Big mac salad. Just realized I forgot my dressing though :( Time for a trip to the store at lunch.. D - Filling in what's left for my macros. Maybe baked chicken and broccoli.
  • Go through the meal thread that's on here, lots of ideas on what people eat in there!
  • My NSV - I turned down a DREAMY cupcake from Pinkabellas Cupcakes, my FAVORITE. They made this special St Patricks Day cupcake that had green frosting and sprinkles. Omg. They also had ones made with Guinness and baileys. And of course my favorite red velvet cupcakes. UGH!! But - I didn't want to be knocked out of ketosis.…

  • I guess I've been wasting $$ on sugar free powerade. Dang!
  • B - Coffee with steamed heavy cream L - Brussel sprouts with olive oil and walnuts, 6oz chicken with ranch sauce and a jello SF chocolate pudding D - Turkey patty and some sort of salad or veggie, maybe I'll roast some cauliflower. Snack - Almonds or chocolate, depending on my macros.
  • Caveman Keto is also a great resource, he has a blog and posts youtube videos too.
  • Sign up for instagram and follow anyone who tags keto, ketodiet, lchf etc. Those guys are always posting great recipes and have helped a ton. For most recipes you can substitute low carb versions - for example, flour with almond flour. I made this recipe over the weekend but used 2 cloves of garlic instead of 1, and 2/3 of…
  • My Keto friends really help keep me on track, as well as logging my food here and on Instagram. Their before and afters can be very motivating as well. I was stalled for the longest time even after getting in walks at lunch time until I went out and bought a food scale. I was eating way more almonds, olive oil and chicken…
  • Update: I may have found the problem. In S Health, I've had more success with WiFi being ON during walks. For some reason the software isn't tracking my route with WiFi off, even though my phone has a connection through my mobile network and isn't connected to WiFi. Posting this for anyone trying to google the problem:…
  • NSV - Over the weekend I made a new recipe - keto chicken alfredo. Zoodles instead of regular noodles. Oh my it was GOOD! If I was allowed to post pics here I would! Alfredo sauce is LCHF/Keto friendly and it's not very hard to make. It's cream, butter, Parmesan cheese and garlic simmered in a pan. I doubled the garlic and…

  • In Italy for example they DO eat pizza, but it's not the thick crust, cheese filled crust you see in Canada and the US. It's a homemade flat bread pizza, very thin, topped with lots of fresh toppings and fresh tomato sauce. They also walk a lot more than we do and have more time to walk/take vacations. In France they get…
  • I know exactly what you mean. I need to know how people do this! I wanted to do this for cauliflower rice and cauliflower mash for all those struggling with it.
  • On topic of people cooking/not cooking, I think the influx of shows around cooking has helped a TON. Hells Kitchen, Kitchen nightmares, Cutthroat kitchen, Diners Drive in and Dives, basically everything on the food network.. I believe it's all inspired people to say, that doesn't look THAT hard, I should try it. And of…
  • Apologies if this has been asked but what sort of beef are you eating, do you care about added hormones, grass fed, organic etc?
  • I snack out of habit. It really depends on my surroundings too. For example at night my husband comes to bed and eats cheesecake/chips/macaroni and cheese or whatever while he watches TV and doesn't gain a lb and I know that and have to be prepared to deal. So I have a massive zip lock bag filled with pre-measured snacks…
  • Breakfast: Venti dark roast with steamed heavy cream and sugar free vanilla syrup Lunch: Turkey/beef patty (6oz) and 5oz broccoli Dinner: Turkey/beef patty and cauliflower rice Snacks: Almonds, werthers hard candy (sugar free)
  • I don't count them towards my net carbs, but I also don't eat a whole serving of them. Be careful, don't eat the whole bag! lol
  • My menu: Breakfast: Venti Pikes Place Roast with steamed heavy whipping cream Lunch: 6oz chicken breast spiced with curry, tumeric, garlic and cayanne pepper. 6oz of broccoli and a chocolate sugar free Jello pudding for dessert. Dinner: Haven't decided yet but something with hamburger. Either a hamburger patty or a big mac…
  • Can you just take it with your lunch? If not prepare a bunch of keto breakfast muffins ahead of time, freeze them, and microwave one in the AM to have with your pills. They are very low carb and low calorie and take 15 - 30 secs to reheat.
  • A ) Caesar salad, no croutons. Use your friends ranch dressing. Mild wings if they are not breaded. B ) Fathead pizza or cauliflower crust pizza. Yes I'd share because I make a big pizza.. lol!
  • Don't eat carbs to "get ahead" of anything, there's lots of low carb options. I snack on almonds. That reminds me, I need more :) I LOVE the habanero BBQ ones, but smokehouse and salt and vinegar are good too. I also eat a couple squares of super dark chocolate, 90%. I haven't made fat bombs yet but everyone elses on…
  • Oh I've seen recipes for cauliflower soup too if you didn't want to have any meat. I've never made it but I'm guessing it tastes like potato soup and I'm sure it's delicious too!
  • Homemade chicken noodle soup, with "zoodles" instead of noodles! I've never been too sick to eat chicken. Here's what I'd make: Chicken broth, like 6 bay leaves, water, carrots (not too many because carbs), celery, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and shredded chicken. Add more broth cubes if you want more chicken flavor. If…
  • @SuesNewImage that's incredible! I have a couple new NSVs: I did eventually get out to the mall with money I budgeted away and purchased a 1X dress and a 1X shirt for the first time in YEARS! I tried on XL, and while it fit it was too snug to risk it lol. Last weekend I also bought a food scale and have been weighing my…

  • How about kale chips?
  • What exactly did you read? If you're talking about a keto diet, then yes you tend to lose weight very fast in the beginning but you're restricted to 20 NET carbs a day to enter ketosis. If you're eating 50g it's still low carb but you won't lose as quickly. That being said 4lbs a month, one per week is pretty normal,…
