Awesome, welcome! Just curious, are you subtracting your fiber from your total carb count? If you're following Keto, count net carbs like so: 1 Avocado -> 13g carbs, 10g of fiber = 3 net carbs If not, then maybe you were spot on today! Either way, congrats on lowering your carbs today :) Edit: My google chrome addon says…

All of these look very yummy, esp the Teriyaki stir fry. And I love the idea of adding more veggies to sop up the extra juice.

Thank you @Mds1922!

I have a snack drawer too! I have salt and vinegar almonds, random quest bars and 90% dark chocolate. I'll look at my log at the end of the day and snack until my macros are hit, lol. If I don't have enough room to snack I drink tea.

@RowdysLady Seeing as she's 12, do you think a friendly bet would work with her? Ex: I bet you can't eat what I eat for a month, if you win I'll buy you any dinner you want/any pair of jeans you want (or some other incentive that might work)? At worst she will become healthier and you're out 50 bucks or so.. at best she…

If you're stuck in a rut, look for new recipes. There's tons on pinterest. I used to eat quiches every morning, you can make a bunch of small to-go ones, freeze them and nuke them in the AM before you leave. I skip breakfast now though and just have coffee with a good amount of heavy cream. I also find that it helps…

You don't have to only buy fatty meats! Just add fat to your meal. I buy a lot of chicken breasts and grilled chicken patties and I add other fats throughout the day - butter on veggies, full fat dressing on salads, heavy cream in my coffee and tea. Olive oil and bacon grease for cooking with. Continue eating pork chops if…

@KnitOrMiss I occasionally have sugar cravings, nothing too crazy though. The other symptoms I don't have. I'll look for those supplements though and will only use my calm plus calcium if my vitamin C is too low for the day. @tcunbeliever I probably should be eating an avocado a day, I used to at lunch time but lately I've…

My NSVs last week - Trying out fasting, I found a few drinks from starbucks that I really like. Iced coffee with heavy cream and sugar free vanilla syrup, and passion tea with heavy cream,no sugar, sweetened with SF vanilla syrup. The passion tea, I was really surprised at how good it was even without the sugar they would…

That's so great @RowdysLady! Congrats to your daughter!

Thanks for looking @KnitOrMiss !

Ack I know, my iron is always low! The food I plug into myfitnesspal shows a lot of my food doesn't have a lot of iron, so I'm thinking my Dr will tell me to start taking supplements for it. I didn't ask about low stomach acid, how would I know if I have that? What supplements are you taking? Since this test I've started…

I don't know how much time you have for cooking but I keep a giant kirkland stir fry veggie blend bag in my freezer at all times. I also buy their frozen grilled chicken patties. So what I do is I toss olive oil in a pan, fry up 2 patties (3 carbs each), chop them up into slices, then toss in more olive oil in the same pan…

@bowlerae That's what bothers me the most! Companies pushing their products and giving people the illusion that these are healthy options, which is why I call them all out. Cereals, nutrigrain bars, nature valley, all of them promote this healthy image yet are full of sugar, and people don't know any better. So I put them…

I second the pinterest suggestion, I made the swiss cheese chicken bake on there and it was FANTASTIC! I've also found recipes on there for biscuits, pancakes, casseroles, you name it. I also love Instagram, I follow a bunch of low carb/keto people on there and see what they make for dinner all the time. It's a great way…

I see people suggested crock pot already so I'll skip that idea. What about making a large casserole on Sunday and saving it for leftovers on the days you can't cook? I seen a pizza casserole on pinterest that looked really good, and filling too. You could load it up with whatever veggies the kids will tolerate. Something…

If tea is not an option, how about those mio/crystal light 0 calorie squirt flavorings for water?
-
Tea with heavy cream could be one - I just picked up this from Teavana yesterday to make a passion iced tea with. I sweeten it with sugar free vanilla syrup and top it with heavy cream. They do have orange flavors and mango flavors, depending on what she likes. She can make it the night before, keep it in the fridge then…

I love getting these on Instagram, I chime in and comment on exactly how much sugar is in the product, how many doughnuts you could have instead of it and how terrible it is to be promoting something so bad for people, lol. I got an ad from NakedJuice and they were saying "no added sugar" (like that makes it healthy) and I…

I haven't done that but I'm sure you wouldn't have too many problems asking for it. Maybe an odd look or two but I think we're all used to that by now :) I make my pizza at home with a tortilla, it's the perfect balance of crunch and toppings. The fathead pizza is good but so time consuming. If I do order from a pizza…

I don't snack at work, lately I've been fasting until dinner and then have a big dinner. Mid day I get an iced coffee with HWC and sugar free hazelnut syrup. I found when I snacked I either snacked too much or thought about snacking too much.

I'm not afraid of fats at all but that doesn't make them unlimited either, I keep my meals between 1200 - 1400 calories per day. I get plenty of fats every day with the rest of my meals. I stay away from sugar though.

"This food is high in saturated fat" Bring it on MFP "This has x amount of carbs and you're daily limit is 20g of carbs" Yeah that's not net carbs MFP! *curses out app*

Fantastic! Keep me updated :)

What else can you eat? Tofu I suppose, you could have protein shakes too. Eggs are great if you're not vegan. There's loads of info on Reddit under /r/keto. There's lots of veggies you can eat - broccoli, romaine, cauliflower, zucchini, spaghetti squash, cucumbers, etc! https://www.reddit.com/r/vegetarianketo/…

I get Lily's chocolate a lot - you have to subtract the fiber and sugar alcohol to get net carbs for keto. The actual count for a milk chocolate Lilys bar is 3 net carbs for half a bar (40g). 22g carbs - 12g fiber - 7 sugar alcohols = 3 net carbs. One square would be much less :)

Great sources.. I tried searching for what I normally use, Torani sugar free hazelnut syrup and can't find it in there. I know it's sweetened with Splenda so I know it can't be 100% calorie or carb free, but I don't know what ratio Splenda to syrup they use.

If you aren't diabetic or boarderline diabetic you shouldn't go crazy on your sugar consumption but you also don't have to specifically watch them either. Log it as is, sugar falls under the carbs category. I was pre-diabetic so I stopped drinking cows milk altogether and swapped to having almond milk when I felt like…

That's great that your Dr offers it because in Nova Scotia no doctors I seen offered it. This is new for me! I imagine they want you to come in for the office visit so they can bill the govt for the visit.

You can have a little bit of dark chocolate when following keto. Stick to 90% or higher. I can't binge eat it at all because it's so strong, but usually two squares is more then enough to satisfy my chocolate craving. There's chocolate teas out there that are ok too and you can sweeten them with sugar free chocolate syrup.
