@samanthaluangphixay I'm sorry to hear that Sam :( If you've been there a long time and are constantly turned down for promotions or raises sometimes it's best to move on to another company. I had to do that a couple years ago and it tore me apart because I loved working with my team, but I was upset that I was always…

Oh man I watched that one with Dr Fung and then went down the internet rabbit hole watching a bunch of his videos. He's worth subscribing to on YouTube, his talks are so interesting. The latest one he talks about how the CICO method is only partially correct and that a key point that's missing when addressing diabetes is…

Thanks, found one at a Freds about 10 mins away! It's frustrating when one chain carries different items in each of their stores. Turns out the one almost right by my apartment just doesn't carry it for some reason.

Mine is public to everyone, feel free to check it out!

Holy crap, none of that happens at my work. It's really terrible to make fun of someone for having gas or being "unladylike". You can help not washing your hands but no one can help diarrhea or gas.

The only person I talk to in the bathroom is my daughter. "Don't put your face on the toilet, OMG!" "Mama, that's your belly button." "Yes." "BELLY BUTTON!" "Did you pee your pants? What is that?" "MAMA, NO PEE PEE IN PANTS!" "Yea, that's what I'm asking you! Did you pee your pants?"

I think at maintenance I'd only log something when I wasn't sure what was in it and how much, like the above example when going out to a restaurant. I've looked things up like salads and such and was shocked at the amount of carbs and calories hiding in a stupid salad, sometimes more than just having a burger. Between the…

Pinterest and Instagram have been my go-tos for recipes. Search for "keto" or "low carb" and you'll find lots. If you're looking for online blogs, my favorite are: http://www.ruled.me/ http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/ http://ketokarma.com/category/recipes/ (check out her whole blog though, she's very inspiring)…

@bowlerae if you have any reading at all with your ketostix then you're doing fine :) Not all people have these reactions, and sometimes the reactions stop after your body gets used to it. OP - Pee is definitely stronger but I don't notice any difference with BO. I use secrets baby powder antiperspirant and dab a little…

At 1-2 carbs for a batch of 10, I couldn't pass it up! We only spent 25 bucks and got 40 wings. Here's the breakdown from my meal yesterday: Buffalo Wild Wings - Traditional Wings, Small, Buffalo, 10 wings - 1 carb, 38g fat, 82g of protein, 670 calories. Buffalo Wild Wings - Traditional Wings (Chipotle Bbq), 10 wings - 2g…

A big congrats to your mom @805_blondie!

Ugh it must be a wal-mart exclusive thing, I didn't see it at Fred Meyers and can't find it on Amazon.

5ft 7 SW: 308 CW: 247 GW: 150 Lowered my calorie goal for the past few weeks and got more strict with my macros last week, with the exception of yesterday for wing night. Lowering it finally helped me to break out of the 250s :)

Ouch - yea it looks like the #1 side effect is nausea, and vomiting is listed as common too: https://www.drugs.com/sfx/citalopram-side-effects.html

I use one or two tbsps if I have any, and that's only because I want to save most of my calories and fats for lunch and dinner. Then at the end of the day if I'm still low on fats I start adding butter to dinner or heavy cream to tea as a late night snack, lol.

Sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. The keto flu, in my experience, only lasted 3-4 days, it seems like you've been suffering for longer than that. It angers me a little that doctors just prescribe, prescribe, prescribe without really picking through your nutrition (I'm assuming) to see if it's an allergy or…

The ruled.me one sounds fantastic. I bet you could cut down on the carb count by removing the onions. 1 cup of soup is not enough for me though, I'd probably eat at least half the batch! lol. I have 3 cans of pumpkin from Costco so I can't wait to start trying more of these new recipes with them.

This sounds right. I wouldn't do any doubling of anything but then again I follow Keto (~20g) and not low carb (anywhere from 0- 150 IIRC). If you're following Keto you almost have to keep track of everything you eat, which means watching macros closely unless you're eating the same thing day in and day out and already…

Some people have huge meals one day and fast until dinner the next day. It works out to be the same calories but they have them all in one big meal rather than spread out over the day. I'm sure it took time to work up to that but yeah I've seen that a few times. Personally I've gotten used to skipping breakfast (other than…

I love everything pumpkin! Go on Pinterest and search for low carb pumpkin, you'll find a LOT of recipes. I just make a batch of low carb pumpkin pancakes last weekend and they turned out great! I made a cream cheese "frosting" for them too so they ended up tasting like those pumpkin spice muffins. For the frosting I just…

I just found this group and thread! I am pre-diabetic and was told that because of my blood sugars and my weight, I most likely have PCOS. Starting Oct 2015 I re-started myself on the Keto diet and have lost 60lbs so far. At one point I went into the DMV to get my beginners license and they took my picture and asked for my…

I also have PCOS and pre-diabetes, my grandfather is diabetic and I think my grandfather on my dads side was diabetic as well. He was definitely in the morbidly obese range. I agree with @mrsf15h that weight loss is slow but not impossible. I've gotten down 60lbs so far and that was from restricting sugar, flour, and…

Great tip @RalfLott, going to do that now! Edit: It works perfectly! Clicking the alternative links on mobile opens YouTube and from there I can expand the description and download them to view offline.

Wow, how do you like Texas compared to NB? That's a huge change!

I'm from NS Canada but living in Seattle WA. @ryanb1385 I love Boston!

@bowlerae do you have any favorites or must-trys in your list?

I have PCOS and am pre-diabetic and yes it makes losing weight for us more difficult, but it can be managed with a low carb diet if you want to go that route. I am following keto and have lost 60lbs so far. Here's a bit more reading if you want to look into it: http://healthygamergirl.com/pcos-and-a-ketogenic-diet/…

I am an emotional eater too, I feel like eating when I'm bored, when I'm watching something on TV, when I'm upset etc. I had to come up with alternatives just like a smoker has their nicotine patches. Instead of eating popcorn during a movie I'll drink a sweetened tea (with splenda or some non sugar substitute). If I want…

@bowlerae it was very good, and very filling! Even the rest of the family not eating low carb loved it so it's going to make it's way into our weekly routine for sure.

I was on Pinterest over the weekend and picked up a few new recipes. As you can tell I make ahead a lot of meals and re-use them a lot in my diary. Here they are: 09/25 - Lunch (Brunch): Low carb pumpkin pancakes (this made 6 pancakes for me, not 8): http://www.ruled.me/low-carb-pumpkin-pancakes/ 09/24, 09/25 - Dinner,…
