Not savory, but my favorite add-ins are Cool Whip, lime gelatin, and diced pears. Still low-cal with the sugar-free varieties.

Two Hershey's kisses are only 44 calories.

So then just eat a little bit of it. You don't necessarily have to deprive yourself completely. *shudders trying to imagine life without Life*

Life. Honorable Mentions: Cheerios, Rice Chex, Crispix, Total, Raisin Bran, Kix, Special K Rice Krispies are good too, but best when served in a pan with melted butter and marshmallows!

I'd highly recommend Nerd Fitness... especially if you're a nerd, like me. :-)

NerdFitness.com is a blog I've been reading lately with lots of good inspirational posts.

Part of why MFP estimates are often too high is that your daily goal is based on a built-in 24 hours of regular activity. So if you log an hour of running on top of that, it's like saying you had a 25-hour day. To be accurate, when logging an hour of exercise, you would have to subtract an hour of normal activity. Since…

Just wanted to put in a plug for NerdFitness.com — the blog posts are inspirational, informative, and fun.

Thanks, everyone. And thanks, MFP! PS: I was pleased to discover that you don't have to use an outside hosting site like photobucket or tinypic to add a photo to a forum post. You can just upload the picture to your MFP profile and then use that URL.

My standby since I've been on MFP has become Hershey's kisses. I'll have just two or three when I'm craving something sweet, taking my time to really savor them. You just have to be able to limit yourself to a few at a time (staying within or near your daily calorie goal, as always). I think it helps that you have to…

I'm proud to report that I've lost 5 pounds since Thanksgiving. I logged all my food every day as usual, and stuck to the same weekly calorie goals I had before the holidays. In the days leading up to both Thanksgiving and Christmas I ate even less and exercised more than usual, so that I would have an extra cushion of…

MFP *does* adjust for your current weight in calculating the calories burned for a given exercise. For example, I frequently log a 15-minute walk at 3.0 MPH. MFP correctly says that this same walk burns fewer calories now than it did back when I joined and was 34 pounds heavier.
-
When I log my exercise I always subtract an estimate of what I would have burned anyway during that amount of time. For example, if my daily maintenance level is 2400 cals, my hourly average is 100, so if I exercise for an hour and MFP says I burned 400 cals doing that activity, I'll only log it as 300, since the other 100…

According to MFP, for my height/weight/gender it would take 293 minutes (almost five hours) of vigorous jumping jacks to burn 3500 calories (1 pound's worth). At a pace of 75 a minute (vigorous?) that would be 21,975 jumping jacks. So 1000 jacks would burn less than one ounce. But they're still a good exercise!

Well done! Today happens to be my 100th day. MFP rocks!

I've definitely been eating out less since joining MFP... about twice a week instead of five times or more. When I do go out I've been much better about limiting calories... I was shocked at first to learn just how bad a lot of restaurant food can be. My latest lesson was in finding out about the ridiculous amount of…

I know, that's why I felt guilty about mentioning it, and that was the topic. I guess I'm guilty of trying to be a clever smartass! :flowerforyou:

I'm guilty of nitpicking: that's not a question, and "you're" and "guilty" are misspelled. :blushing:

Unbelievable transformation! Great job! PS: There's a typo in "September" above your after picture.

MFP will give you a warning message if you click "Complete This Entry" on a day where you don't consume 1200 calories ("Based on your total calories consumed for today, you are eating too few calories."). The curious thing is that you will NOT get this same warning message if only your NET is below 1200. So long as you…
