Lost 54 Pounds in One Year!

I recently celebrated my one-year anniversary of using MFP, and I'm thrilled with the results. I've lost 54 pounds so far and I'm feeling great. Honestly, it wasn't all that difficult once I found MFP — just being aware of the amount I was eating and exercising and holding myself accountable to daily and weekly goals made all the difference. I didn't really cut any foods out of my diet — I just ate more sensible portions, planned ahead to accommodate occasional eating out and holiday feasts, and weighed my food when possible to keep track accurately. It also didn't take any extreme amount or intensity of exercise — I just increased my walking (parking five minutes from work instead of in the expensive underground garage helped a lot), continued my usual hobbies (bowling, golf, and yardwork), and added in a bit of running and aerobics here and there (always subtracting some of the minutes when logging, to avoid double-counting with the calories I would have burned anyway just sitting around). Moving forward, I hope to more or less maintain my weight while continuing to decrease my body fat percentage, although I find it hard to get sufficiently motivated to do strength training. Any inspirational tips?

    Thanks, everyone. And thanks, MFP!

PS: I was pleased to discover that you don't have to use an outside hosting site like photobucket or tinypic to add a photo to a forum post. You can just upload the picture to your MFP profile and then use that URL.
