  • I have been through he "change" for 3 years now and I have noticed a change. Thicker waist and it is much more difficult to lose. But exercising regularly and trying to watch what I eat. MFP is GREAT for support and helpful friends to encourage you on. Yes I would be happy to be your buddy too!
  • Oh October goals. 1. log every day, not matter if it is OVER. Exercise every day.
  • Hi Ladies, I am struggling with the same 10 lbs that I have for years. it comes off and then comes back. I would love to join and be inspired by other ladies over 50! The challenges are different as we age. I used to cut out bread for a day in my 20's and lose 5 lbs! Any advice anyone can give me dealing with dining out? I…
  • Hello All. Reading some amazing stories of success here. I am 60 and tortured by the last 10 to 20 lbs. Been on for 3 or 4 weeks and have lost 6 solid pounds but on a plateau that exists because of weekend drinking and parties. Have not figured out a way to socialize without hurting someones feelings by passing on their…
  • I know it is the 10th, but I am in. I was on the phone with a daughter two days ago and while listening to her I ate three ice cream drumsticks in a row without taking a breath! To break the habit takes 21 days so mine will be until September 31st. Great plan!
  • Hi there soul mate. YES I totally know your pain. I go along doing great and then my binge times are weekends when I am out with friends and drinking. Then I am the last to stop eating the giant appetizer of fried calamari. Or going for extra slices of pizza and finishing one of those gigantic Bud lights! It is self…
  • I live with the sabotage on the food deal. there is seriously nothing in the world (well almost) that my husband would like better than to have me sit down and eat some meat with him. Constant problem. Just try to always make healthy choices no matter what. He ordered pizza last night and I ate the mushrooms off of it and…
  • You Can do it. YOu know how and you have done it before. the biggest tip I can give is to just keep on trying. I go throught the same thing going up and then down and then up again. But you are still way ahead of the game from where you began. We are all rooting for you!!!:flowerforyou:
  • It is a tough issue. A good book to get and read is " But he never hit me" sometimes I think a square punch in the jaw would be much more civilized. Demand to be treated better. I have a bag that I keep packed at all time though last night I forgot where it was. LIke Pavlovs dog eventually he will figure out that when he…
  • I AM!! I KEEP TAKING OFF AND PUTTING BACK ON FIVE LBS. AND TODAY DOWN FIVE BUT I HAVE THE LAST 10 THAT HAVE BEEN HAUNTING ME FOR YEARS. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
  • For sure it was jogging shoes. Then comes sweat pants!
  • I do think there is something to the low carb way of eating to avoid binges. I have that problem myself. when **** hits the fan I hit the fridge. Yesterday was a binge day for me. So bad. crossants, easter cookie, whopper from burger king and fries. But I went to bed with no dinner and feel ok. I think the secret is to…
  • Hi I am a 58 year old mother of 8 and grandma of 8 soon to be 9. I have a daughters wedding in May to get ready for and a good 10 to 15 lbs to lose. Having a tough time with the flu and before that a bad fall on my tailbone in front of Old Navy. Be careful of their carts. But determined to keep trying. Weight now 149/.…
  • You go girl. Enjoy the hit. You deserve it. What an amazing story. You are my hero for sure. Trula:flowerforyou:
  • Honestly my frozen banana blended with unsweetened cocoa, vanilla and a little almond milk to make blending in the blender easier. Nothing tastes as good as REAL SWEET and real food!
  • Rage, Sing Godess, Achilles rage, Black and murderous, that cost the Greeks Incalculable pain, pitched countless souls, Of heroes into Hades dark, And left their bodies to rot as feasts For dogs and birds, as Zeus will was done. Homers Iliad
  • This is January of a new year. Good time to start over. This is a series of starting over for all of us. Sometimes from day to day, week to week etc. You CAN do it . You did it before. some people take a walk on their lunch. Can you do that? Power walk! And watching calories is tedious but works. The fact that you are on…
  • could be good, could be bad! :blushing:
  • Yes my weight bumped up a pound from yesterday, so not going to get depressed. Just go forward. But actually I think the best day to weigh for putting in MFP if just one day a week is on Friday. Because weekends are the biggest challenge with parties, dinners out, drinking etc and Monday thru Friday you can be more…
  • Had a egg white stirfry with mushrooms and onions. One piece of unbuttered toast. One apple, Two cups of cocoa with almond milk, stevia, and unsweetened cocoa. Too many calories but I do feel satisfied and here it is 1 pm. I am saving the rest of the calories for dinner tonight! Fish!!!
  • Born is San Francisco and just 40 minutes south now. Never very hot and never very cold. But miss the snow, fireflies, lake swimming and barbeques outside.
  • Mine is my husband. 6.3" tall. Smart quick funny and hairy as hell.
  • You sound almost exactly like me in so many ways except your measurements are fantastic. You must be young. I am also 5foot six inches and today weigh 143. I started at 151. Lost down to 141 for my daughters wedding in August and now I want to get the last lbs off with my goal being 135, the weight I put on my drivers…
  • I am in. Current weight 151 and goal weight is 135. j16 to go but 5 by the end of April would be very nice. So my goal would be 146. Thanks for posting the challenge. Let's do it!!!
  • I need inspiration too. Wanna be firness pals? I lost 10 lbs just a few months in for my daughters wedding in August and have found it all as of today. My goal is just 16 lbs away and I am back on track as of tday starting with a 12 mile bike ride. Let me know if you wanna be friends. Trula
  • You can cook them the same as other lentils. I have a great recipe for lentil stew. Just add mushrooms (lots) half an onion diced, celery, carrot chopped, vinegar, ( just a splash) salt pepper and basil to flavor. It is a great tasting and hearty meal. Try it!
  • I can totally relate to the not consistent. I go on, then off. And emotional eating is a real problem. But hang in there. Though I have those issues I have managed to lose 10 lbs and would like to lose another 10 to be my high school weight. It is not how many times you fall that count, but how many times you get back…
  • Yes, way over 40 coming in at 57! Soon to be 58. Welcome to MFP. It is a great way to get in shape and make friends. I have lost 10 lbs and though not always consistent come back and try again to stay down. Here you have the freedom to eat what you want. Just not too much! And it is great to have the fitness factored in so…
  • I am in the eact smae boat with the scale not budging in two months. I think I am going to try NOT eating my exercise calories and see if that helps. I have incorporated egg whites into my diet that a fitness pal suggested. She finally broke her plateau by eating more and more egg whites up to 7 a day!
  • You are totally right. I think maybe she is trying to be nice and to relate to what you are going through, but she probably has no idea. I lost a child at birth many years ago and was shocked at the coarseness of those around me to my pain. My mother had lost a mother father and siblings and was still very cruel to me…
