  • I killed a dishonest, dirty scale once. I got on and it LIED to me telling me I had gained some pounds when I had been good all week. I kicked it to death!!!!! Liar that is was!!!!!
  • I came home last Friday, after having a GREAT day and proceeded to eat about 1200 calories or so-ON JUNK!!!! I was so upset I did not fill out my diary until the next day!!! We all will go there at some point!!!

  • The best way is to only eat when you are hungry and stop when you feel full. But full is not, "I think I ate so much my stomach will burst and I will die." Sadly, that has been my idea of full many times! It is difficult to do though but I say keep trying. This I say to myself!!

  • I think the machines can be off if they do not take your weight. I have went to other websites for calorie burn and they are just as inconsistent. I will take the lower one if I know it. But I have used the higher (mfp) when I know it was too low on the machine register.
  • i have done WW but do not like it. I would prefer to count calories and be able to come closer to eating what I want. With WW the points seem to be totaled so as to keep you from eating higher fat foods or meat. I get fuller faster on meat so I starve on WW. Some people really love it and it works for them.
  • Try not weigh right after a day or two of heavy eating. You will most always retain water and be bloated. Which will make you a few pounds-or more-heavier. This can be very discouraging. It is best to get back on track QUICKLY and then wait a few days before stepping on the scale.

  • Welcome! I, too, thought that all I had to do was exercise. I started walking in January and burned some pounds but then began to put them back on in June/July of this year and knew I had to do something and someone told me about MFP. I have never counted calories but now love it (only been doing it for 3.5 weeks)!
  • Do you ever thrift store shop? You can find nice basics like dress pants and skirts in thrift store.
