Has anyone tried Blue Agave Nectar as their sweetener. It's NATURAL, super sweet so you only need a couple drops and it doesn't spike blood sugar levels like honey, maple syrup or sugar. Personally, my body has never reacted well with artificial chemical sweeteners that are in low cal soft drinks and almost all the other…

When I think of colon cleansing, I think of a colonic or colon therapy, where warm water is inserted to the colon to help soften years of substance build up on the colon wall. This is accompanied by abdominal massage, all administered by a licensed practitioner. When you are ready, you relax your butt muscles and the waste…

I'm 5'4" and felt my best at 135 lb, which was my weight after my second child. I was so hot looking at 135lb that my husband would NOT leave me alone and i wound up with baby number 3 several months later. Several ... okay many, many years later I am still trying to lose baby weight from number 3 with the addition of…

Hi Wolfena, I can totally relate to your post, I've gone through, and continue to go through, the food addiction spiral. Actually, the food network is on my TV right now !! I believe this "mental & physical" addiction to food is the missing link to many peoples weight loss success. By missing link, I mean that it needs to…

Which books do you like, or programs do you follow, to help with your health and fitness goals? Has anyone read ... 21 pounds in 21 days Diet Detox ? Are You Ready? Biggest Losers Success Secrets? Fit for Life ? Eat More. Weight Less? The Fat Flush ? The Carbohydrate Addicts Recovery Program?

Thank you very much for the website address. I am always interested in learning new things. My husband and I read "Fit For Life" by Dr. H and M Diamond many years ago. They were they first ones to shed some light on possible effects that dairy products could have on human bodies. We immediately stopped feeding milk…

My guess is .. that they are eating more processed foods than fresh ones. Additives and other processing toxins can wreck havic on the body's systems. Never mind the high fat, high simple carb content of a lot of processed foods, fast foods, and snack foods. You'll have to ask them for the exact answer though.

You asked me why I thought Cheese was addictive. I just answered the question with my personal experience and an article. You can be interested or null it as you did. Granted you can find an article any where on the internet in favor or not, on any given subject. Which is one of THE most frustrating things for me and a lot…

Back a few posts you asked me why i thought cheese was addicting. My first hint was trying to give it up myself and failing miserably. Then I asked several people if they had ever gone without cheese ... full fat or low fat ... have you ever quit cheese? Grilled cheese, nacho cheese, feta cheese, cheesy macaroni, Big Mac…

i stand corrected, they add an additive to the milk to help make it more digestible as apposed to removing the lactose. I don't mean to be offensive either, so I apologize for that.

Well said Kalla

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "they have no idea how the human body works or what it needs". Do you mean where does the body get it's protein if the diet is meat free? Which food recommendations did they make that you think are unhealthy or unsafe?

Education is key. Read lots, learn lots and then make your own choices and decision. To the nay sayers about the book ... Why are we the only nation in the world that drinks milk AND we have the highest osteoperosis rate? Would you suck on your mothers boob at 30 years old? or more appropriately a cows teat ? Nature made…

It's a BLATANT no nonsense approach to health and weight loss. No more beating around the bush, they tell like it is. I didn't appreciate some of the language that they use ... but WOW, did I get their message. It was especially pertinent for me, as we were driving through California as I was reading it out loud to my…

Oh I see I can't write the "female dog" word ... but that is the title of the book. What did you think about it? Is anyone been eating less meat because of the info? I had gained 9 pounds over Christmas, and have since dropped it after reading Rory & Kim's book.

In my opinion a calorie is not simply a calorie. If you want to get healthy (therefore lose weight) then NOURISH your body with the calories that you eat. A body that feels nourished is more likely to shed pounds then one that feels starved of nutrients. A body that feels starved will be hungry all the time, craving more…

Fake .. lots of color and all the different decorations that the kids have made over the years. Down after the yearly Open House that we hold between Christmas and New Years.

Great subject ... In the last year there have been times when I am cooking for 8 (well, 7 and the 4 month old grandson) people in this household. Without our income increasing, I had to keep the food budget the same as when it was only 3 of us, BUT never compromised the food quality or nutritional value. Here's how we did…

Hi All, Ran 5 km outside today ... minus 4 ... which is about 29 for you non-Canadian 'eh folks. I was very happy with my effort, I slowed down my pace and was able to go much further without sending my heart rate though the roof and then having to walk. YA!!! My first 5 km run is on New Years Day and I hope to complete it…

I ran 5km (3 miles) in Vancouver, BC today. It was about 1 degree C (33 F) which turned the extra large rain drops into massive snow flakes. By the time I finished running it was back to rain, I was soaked through all my layers of clothes. My water resistant jacket didn't resists so much:laugh:

Wow I am so glad that you can relate to this ... I wasn't sure how it was going to be received. Sometimes I think too much about what other people might think. I wish you all the best in your journey, Hang in there owensmommy ...

I find this subject very interesting. I believe it is the key to all weight loss success ... mental focus and commitment is necessary and paramount to any long term change. I don't know if any of this is similar for others or not, but I just figure out that THIS is how it works for me. My ... me ... mine and I am divided…
