  • I weigh and measure all of my food. I log everything (except this last weekend due to carb cycling). I'm currently 207, was down to 175 when I was following keto in the past but slid off over the winter and summer and gained a bunch back. I want to get back down to 175 but doing what I did before and adding IF isn't…
  • I am still counting my calories. I keep under 1500 per day. I drink around 115 oz or more of water per day. I don't do a lot of exercise but try to get between 5000 and 10000 steps per day. My macros are under 20 g net carbs, 70% of my calories fat and 25% of my calories protein.

  • So much to comment on......Good for you for knowing that it was your coping strategies that led to bringing food back into your life that you know is harmful to you as well as something you are addicted to. To those who question if sugar is addictive research studies have shows that sugar (especially processed sugar) is as…
  • I think the original poster was saying that they might quit processed sugars or added sugars....not sugars that are naturally occurring such as in fruits and vegetables. I also am watching my sugars and my carbs because I've seen a huge difference in how I feel as well as my cravings. I still eat tons of veggies, have…
  • Good information. Weight loss is such a personal struggle and a one-size-fits-all plan doesn't work for everyone. People need to find what works for them and go with it. Unfortunately I'm one of those that "calories in, calories out" wasn't working for. The only time I saw weight loss was when I did "calories in, calories…
  • If I know I can't control myself or eat the correct portion I don't have it in my house. I stock snacks that I know I can eat more of if I feel the need to eat a little outside of my calorie count (I live on celery and hummus). I also will spend the extra money for prepackaged proportioned of stuff (like hummus) to take on…
  • For personal reasons (and not to start a debate) I'm doing atkins and getting all my carbs from veggies and making sure they are truly healthy. I realized that heavy whipping cream has (for 1 TBSP) 52 calories, 6g fat and 0 carbs whereas the Peppermint Mocha Coffee Mate powder (per serving) has 60 calories, 3g fat and 8…

  • I've been here for a long time but unfortunately gained all the weight back I lost (and a little more) after my dad was diagnosed with cancer and then lost the ability to work out when I fell at work and tore the cartilage in my shoulder. I've gotten my depression under control, my dad is healthy and I'm finally back to a…
  • I think it's great that you are working on your marriage together. I personally believe that if both people want a marriage to work and are willing to put the effort in that it can survive anything.....including infidelity. Congrats on you both working on it as well as working on yourself....it sounds like you are doing it…
  • No suggestions?!?!
  • That would be a miracle so I'm in Deb 38 Naperville, IL CW: 192 GW: 150
  • I tried it and it was the biggest waste of money!!! I knew from the very first time I went that it was a scam because when she first measure my tummy (also my target area) she measured very loosely. And at the end she measured and the tape measure was true against my tummy. So WOW.....I lost a whopping 1.5". I even brought…
  • We love it in our family. I make it in the rice cooker, season with salt and pepper and eat it. Even my 3 year old and 7 year old eat it....and ask for more. It's also the only non-meat item that is a complete protein!!! It's awesome in my book!!
  • Awesome job!!! I need to restart and this is definitely inspirational!!!
  • 5'4" 188lbs size 14-16 depending on brand and cut. All of my weight goes to my stomach so that's what I have to fit!!
  • You need to take an honest look at your life and figure out what will work for you not only today or in the next 6 months but that you will be ok and satisfied doing in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years. Sure, when you lose weight you are cutting your calories more than you would if you are maintaining (diet) but what do you not…
  • Congrats!!! You look amazing!!! Thank you so much for your post.....I too struggle with taking time for myself and making myself a priority. In the last 9 months I've gained back all I lost because of family medical issues that made me put others before myself and not taking that 'me' time to care about me. Thank you for…
  • If the teacher is unwilling to let you substitute stickers or small toys send in a bag/box of organic fruit snacks. Might as well make I healthy and no crap!!
  • My husband is my 2nd official boyfriend. I went on a couple (like 3) random dates with other guys between my first boyfriend (dated him at the age of 19) and my huband. So 1 relationship before my husband and a total of 3 other "dates" with people (1 time dates). I'm grossly under the "12" number that stupid article…
  • With Body Fat my BMR is 1580; without body fath my BMR is 1540....only a 40 calorie difference. Thanks for the ideas for more calories. I already incorporate avocados a couple days a week but peanut butter is a great idea!!! Thanks again for answering my questions!!
  • Thank you so much for your response. I was hoping more people would respond so you are a ROCK STAR for helping me out!!! I used the calculator with body fat and my BMR is 1580 so my numbers are good. Until December when the S@#$ hit the fan with family medical issues I was lifting 3 times a week so even though I haven't…
  • I have a Body Media arm band and love it. It tracks steps, exercise, calories burned, and sleep. I also like how it can't be left on a pair of pants and thrown in the wash (I had a friend do that to 2 of hers). I don't even realize I'm wearing it now it's so much a part of me. I take it off to go swimming or take a shower…
  • Sooo need to try this!!!
  • Anyone?!?!
  • I used the BMR on Fitness Frog and they didn't ask for activity level. The TDEE calculators for lightly active puts me around 2100 calories and for moderately active puts me around 2400. I've used my Body Media for 3 weeks now but the last 2 weeks has been mostly representative of my lifestyle because I've been back to…
  • Wisconsinite at heart!!! Did my undergrad in LaCrosse and lived there for a total of 6 years!! But my heart is still there.....does that count?!?!
  • I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THIS!!!! If you are not mature enough to handle a friendship with the opposite sex then that is just sad!! My best friend from high school, whom I still talk to and hang out with (both with and without my husband) is a guy. We NEVER liked each other. I have numerous friends from college that are…
  • I've been married 11 years and it boils down to communication and trust. My husband has female friends, female co-workers and old school friends (who are 10 years younger than him due to him having been an adult student) who are female. He has female friends on facebook that I don't share with him......and we are good. I…
