Check out fitnessblender.com as well. I think another poster mentioned them. They have KB workouts and high cardio-low impact workouts too!

The advantages of doing it split is the eating and recovery and making sure you can push to the max each time. Advantage to doing them back to back? All done in 2 hours, one change of clothes, one shower, still going to the max-especially if you do cardio first them ST. I was lagging a little on my second cardio today a…

Yesterday and today's doubles are both DONE! Yesterday was Insanity's Pure Cardio in the morning. Nothing makes you more nervous than the trainer telling you that he's nervous about what's to come! But I did it and it was so sweaty! Then in the afternoon, I got in my fitnessblender.com workouts. HIIT Like a Girl + HIIT the…

If it's restricting your breathing-as in congestion and throat, take it really easy. Do some light intensity stuff, but I've also hard the above the neck rule of thumb, and have done it myself. Just keep the kleenex handy!

Fantastic! Awesome! GO YOU!!!

Today was a new milestone for me. I did my first ever Insanity Asylum dvd!! I didn't kill it, as I was learning the moves and had to imagine an agility ladder on my floor, but I think I did pretty good! There were some times where I had to stop and catch my breath but overall, I am proud that I not only started it, but I…

That is one honkin' big pic! didn't think it'd be that big!!

Thanks, Swash. I'd say the inspiration is mutual! Plyo kicks my tail all the time, and I've done it. A lot. Do it at the level that you can and you will see improvements each and every time. There are some modifications that Pam does. Try them, but modify for yourself-squat to your level, jump to your level (those sieber's…

Insanity is really tough if you haven't done anything for a while. It is a fantastic program, your heart rate can really get high. I think you can try it. Some suggestions though: try it every other day for a week or two; once you see how they do an exercise-go at YOUR own pace, don't try and keep up with them on screen;…

LOL, Swashburn, Triples made me laugh! am-P90X Plyo done. I really do like plyo. It's got all the action that I need for my workout. I like the HIIT aspect of it even if they don't call it that. 30 sec of High intensity exercise, a 10-ish second break then on to the next workout...those squats-like a million times- ow in…

Starting today, a.m. Legs and Back My legs were jello when I was done! Doing something right! :) p.m. Cardio X I remembered why I don't do this one often. I don't like it. For me, it doesn't have enough cardio, considering it's called CardioX. It has a warm up, bout 10 minutes of yoga, then about 20 min of cardio and a…

Swash, you continue to be a fantastic motivator for yourself! I love that your little one brings you the yoga block when you say it's exercise time. I workout with my son in the room. It's the biggest room, and we get to talk while I workout and he plays legos or watches tv or reads. Well, he talks and I respond when I'm…

Michael, if you are already doing a lot of aerobic work in your work, climbing cell towers every day (WOW, btw), you probably don't need to add anymore cardio into your day. Try your strength training again. Start with body weight stuff you can do anywhere-pushups, lunges, squats, burpees. If you have access to the…

There are always days when your body looks at you, *kitten* its hip to the side, tilts its head, scrunches its face and goes "WHAA??? you totally surprised it today by doing core! it must have been thinking about some sort of ST like L&B and you switched it up! Good for you! keep your body guessing as to what is coming!…

Swash, I love hoe you think! You always find something good about your workouts. Even when things don't work out the way they should, you're still smiling. You are also making fantastic progress! You have a lot of accomplishments. I hope you keep the tracking sheets from this round in a binder, with the other rounds that…

first off, try treating the pain. ice and stretch (not at the same time) google your symptoms or go to a doctor. second, if it causes you a lot of pain, don't do it! modify or so something else. just so squats. I hated the rock star hops because they would jar my back too much, so I'd sub for something different all the…

here's my 2 cent's worth...if you cant breathe, take it real easy. especially with cardio. take many rests and stop if you have to. You won't do yourself any favours if you push yourself to exhaustion and make it easier for the cold to take hold. its happened to me. I didn't listen when my body was saying it was sick and…

Kenpo was always the highlight for me, too! :) Week 8 for you, Swash! Right around the corner! you'll like it, but remember patience. After going so hard, its sometimes difficult to switch gears and bring it down a notch. (I find it hard) Week 9 is coming for me, ready to bring it!

Sweat during normal regular days is not cool. I hate it. BUT...sweat during a workout? They are my temporary, itty bitty badges of honour. I love that slick feeling after a hard workout. It's even better if i have to watch out for sweat on the floor so I don't slip ;) Then I go shower. Sweat it. It's cleansing. Keep a…

Stretching, ice and drinking water are good things. so is getting a foam roller. myofascial muscle release with the foam roller could also help a lot.

I started with Jillian Michaels Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. Then did JM's No More Trouble Zones, 30DS. Graduated to P90X Insanity, RushFit. I also have Bob Harper's DVD's for cardio, strength and yoga Jillian and Bob are a lot cheaper (around $10-$15 a dvd, where the others are a lot more) see if you can find used copies…

I have bands, that I don't use. LOL. I've tried the over the door, but had to do it at the hinge and it abraded my bands to the point where I thought they would snap! so I found online a way to do modified pulls by doing them reverse, under the table. They work for me and it means I don't have to run down the hallway to a…

Nice workout! Cardio was scheduled for me today, too. WAS. I have a wonderful excuse for not doing it today though. I had to get my report cards done (due to office monday. tomorrow night and saturday is all about hockey [like i'll be in arenas] hockey hockey] and I'd like my family to know I'm still alive on sunday) so.…

weight can go up for a number if reasons...but first things first...you are feeling well and how do your pants fit? weight can go up because of the water weight in your muscles as you break down the old weaker tissues and build up stronger tissues…

I'm glad you had an awesome time with cardioX today. Progress in health and what you find you can do is amazing, isn't it? :) secret: I've done P90X a few times and I still have to readjust my knee into runners pose. I can get it 'so' far under me but then have to skip it forward to in between my feet.

1. Water 2. Water with lemon 3. Tea- Tetley has this tea called "Warmth" cinnamon and orange blossom blend. SO so good! the orange blossom gives it a natural sweet aftertaste so no sugar is needed! Also mint tea. Green very occasionally. 4. hot chocolate-I started drinking this again at work on the really really cold days…

You can take advil for the pain, but just a little. you don't want to take any painkillers before you workout though, as it can mask the pain from serious injury. staying hydrated, stretching and moving-light to moderate exercise is good. also the DOMS is a way to let you know that your body has broken down muscle to make…
