I would definitely log your food throughout. The current guidelines say that women only need 300 calories extra/day to sustain a healthy pregnancy. I also second hollydubs85's ideas with walking and eating healthy snacks. I gained more than I would have liked when I was pregnant and plan to be more vigilant with…

I'd like to be a size 6/8. I'm right at 6 ft. tall. Can you tell me what would I have to weigh to be that jean size?

According to the National Chicken Council's nutritional values - it's 165 calories for boneless/skinless breast (3.5oz serving). 239 is the meat and the skin for a 3.5 oz serving. http://www.nationalchickencouncil.org/chicken-the-preferred-protein-for-your-health-and-budget/the-nutritional-value-of-chicken/ Just an FYI…

It usually takes me 6 weeks before I see any results. I think each person's body shows changes at different times. Don't give up. That said, I do agree with others who mentioned calories. It's still possible to overeat, even when those foods are healthy.

I second the first two. And would like to add Gusto in Des Moines, IA.

^^^^ This Plus - with Dara Torres being a swimmer, she builds/maintains muscle all over her body and keeps her body fat % extremely low. Many elite female swimmers (though not all) have a similar shape when in peak competitive shape. Unless you'll be training 4-6 hours a day, 6 days a week, for many years in a row - I…

Swimmer here! I don't swim as much as I'd like. I, too, don't like the cold weather and cold water together. But someday, I'd love to join our local Masters Swimming chapter. I miss the competition and think having a goal (meet) to train for would motivate me.

Something similar to this, but collecting the food items in a box allows you to see what you would have eaten. It could be an eye-opener for how much "small" bites add up. Plus you could do as suggested above, purposefully choose one thing from the box to eat on your way home as an end-of-shift treat. And toss/donate the…

Reading through the comments has made several come to mind now.... I agree with those who mentioned the Ring. And now you can watch it in 3D where she actually crawls out of your TV towards you...no thanks!

I swam competitively for many years and now coach. I don't have my swimmers eat before morning practice and never ate in the morning myself. When I swim now it's normally in the afternoon, but not always, and I still don't eat before. It's for exactly the reason you mention, you feel heavy. It's more difficult to flip…

I'm not a big water drinker either...but I do find once I've been "good" about drinking it - that I miss it on the days I don't get enough. What helps me is taking a few sips every 15-30 minutes or when I'm bored at my desk or in a meeting. Before you know it, you've finished a few 16 oz bottles. Good luck!

We have access to a nutrionist at work. She won't put anyone on diet of below 1300 calories a day (if female) or 1600 (if male). You should be consuming at least 1300 calories a day, which means eating back at least some of your workout calories. Otherwise your body will believe you are starving and it won't allow any…

I was told people should drink half their body weight in ounces. In other words, if you weigh 100 lbs, you should be drinking 50 oz of water a day. I don't usually hit my number - but I'm working towards it.

This! An entire day is probably too much. But I have also been told one meal a week should not be logged but rather simply enjoyed!
