  • It's my belief that those feelings of constant hunger will fade as you start to lose weight and your stomach shrinks. Perhaps you'll still have a twinge of hunger thereafter but think of it as something to be proud of. In a weird way, it's a sign of progress and dedication. That said, I love Orville Redenbacher's 100…
  • I think I could eat McDonald's french fries every day (if cooked perfectly). I could do without the rest but oh, those golden fries...
  • Agreed! I think water SUCKS too! At a restaurant, I've come to love adding freshly squeezed lemon (and I suppose you could throw in some Splenda and try to create a calorie-free lemon shake!). At work though I rely heavily on MIO. It's a liquid, calorie-free additive that flavors my drinks much better than say a…
  • Agreed- and I KNOW this is going to sound strange and a lot of bartenders have looked at me funny...till they tried it! Most all of those flavored vodkas mix well with (drum roll) Diet Mt. Dew. Yup. You heard me! The bubblegum, whipped cream, cotten candy, etc all mix great with it! It gives you a sweet bubbly drink and…
  • It all has to do with frame size. I'm 5'5" - 5'6" and if I hit 125 pounds, I'd look scary skinny (IMO) because I have such a large frame. At 145 pounds, I'd be a size 10. At 125, I'll be a 6 with my hip bones sticking out. So for me, it's most realistic to aim for around 135 and still be a healthy size 8.
  • How are you getting access to the community on your phone? I have the app on my iPhone but don't have access.... Thanks :) Jenn
  • I was doing the mixed drinks for awhile and they are pretty low in calories, but right now I'm hooked on the hard ciders. I have it so that I can have one BIG one (22 oz) every day! For me, it was important to have the lowest calories, with the highest alcohol content and still taste good! Sadly, that comes at a price! I…
  • I posted a topic about self sabotage too and people told me to get psychiatric help! Don't listen to anyone who tells you that- I can't believe some people can be so negative! Anywho, I do it too. If I have one bad day, I'll eat my *kitten* off and make it a bad week. I punish myself. Then once I've gained, I do it some…
  • I drink it like it's going out of style (like a 2 liter a day) but so long as I count calories, I'm still losing a 1/2 pound a day.
  • Crap. Thanks for the professional's opinion though.
  • I wish I could explain it, but I can't. Even if I drink with moderation and work the calories into my daily allowance, alcohol makes me gain weight. It seems not all calories are created equal? The math doesn't make sense but the scale doesn't lie. That's at least what it does to my body.
  • Some girls do- that's how I met my husband. I had a few drinks on ladies night, started making jokes about the freak television programming on TLC and started surveying the bar about it. Mind you, I had a few drinks but I'm kinda out there and loud to begin with. Long story short, I made him laugh and we've been together…
  • Honestly, I agree with that. We all need our mental health just as well as our physical health. Don't get yourself overly worked up about one day. Just tell yourself that though- that it's ONE day- and be sure to pick back up on Friday. It would be a shame to be miserable and sad at a time that is about food, family and…
  • Actually, I'm a weirdo. I hate Thanksgiving food mostly because I hate veggies (which is part of the reason I'm fat, lol). However, as far as portions go, I just bought a portable digital pocket scale from Amazon for under $10 with free shipping. It hasn't arrived yet but I definately plan on using it in the future for…
  • PS: If this is your first couple of days dieting though, that may not be unusual no matter what you're eating. I threw my body into shock when I went from a likely 3,500 calories + to 1,200. I got CRAZY headaches and hunger pains for three days but after the withdrawl, I was doing just fine. Also keep in mind, if you're…
  • Hello! I am 5'5 - 5'6' and currently at 170.5 pounds eating 1200 calories (idealy) a day. I actually have found a way to stay full on such few calories and that's without eating some of the off-the-wall things that other people do. I've been kinda crappy about logging but if you want to check out my diary, feel free. You…
  • I'm reading your post cause I'm right there with you. I was doing so well and now I've slipped and eaten everything insight for awhile. Back to square one and fighting depression along with my stress. Ugh
  • I know you're beating yourself up right now, but look how far you've come! You've lost OVER 20 pounds! That's incredible. You're 129 days in and 20 pounds lighter. How long were you holding onto those pounds? If you're like me, it was for a number of years and now poof! In 1/2 a year they're gone and while you're not…
  • SO SO SO proud of you and I hope you're proud of yourself as well! Incredible job there handsome! :)
  • Well, I dunno if what I do will work for you but I find I like something more substantial than just fruits or veggies. Maybe this will help? In the morning I make an egg-white patty and a slice or two of (real) bacon. I have that to eat between breakfast and lunch. They say protein and fat is what fills you up longer. The…
  • Thanks Amy- that's a great link though I must be exercising more at my "desk" job than I thought because according to it, I'm still only burning 1858 calories a day whereas to lose the weight that I am, I must actually be going through 2,950.
  • Hi Shannon! Feel free to friend me! I'm 32 with a 10 year old step son (good boy) and a 20 month old baby girl that's going to be the premature death of me. Lol. I too have 46 pounds left to lose. :)
  • I think it's going to always be tempting from time to time but not as much as it used to be. For me, in the beginning I ALWAYS wanted junk food, especially sugary treats, like 24/7. I darn near obsessed over them. Now, I just want them every once in awhile, like when I see a yummy cupcake in the bakery window. I think the…

  • Agreed. I don't get full on those or veggies as snacks, perhaps because they're so water-based. I just posted for another thread what I do for snacks instead. Lemme see if I can find it and I'll copy and paste it. BRB :)
  • Sorry but a lot of y'all are being mean to her. Perhaps the old addage, "if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" should apply. I can respect if you disagree with her blaming her childhood, but adding insult to injury, especially in such an unconstructive manner, is uncalled for. We're all here to lose weight…
  • Here's my confession, I usually drink and don't exercise. And then I drink some more and give up logging for the day. I like your confession better than mine! Lol. Congrats on being good! :)
  • Very much agreed! If you're listening MFP, you need to add the community to the app :)
  • Please message me as to what pumpkin fluff is!!!! Dying to know!! :)
