Rats ... you beat me to it

cottage cheese I have tried it, my PT swears by it, but it makes me gag. PT even suggested a milk/cottage cheese smoothie  I also can't abide celery, marmite, and beetroot.

Seeing as you quoted Duran Duran ... As a former "big' woman, in her mid 40's, I can feel your pain. I had "dodgy" knees, and they would play up after running or long walks. I found losing weight and building the muscles in my legs have resolved the problem. Weighted squats and lunges are your friends, yes they may make…

I don't need to be motivated to work out, I enjoy it. Bet I'm not the only person on MFP that feels like this

I have a good one. I use my PT for lifting and he has taught me everything I know and given me the confidence to use the weights room on my own in my male dominated gym. There are 8 PTs who work out of my gym, and most seem OK. My PT works hard, and his day can run from 6 am to 8 pm. The PTs at my gym are self employed,…

Yeah, I would let that one pass. Jees, I know 4 women who are currently pregnant, and I normally go out of my way to avoid those who wish to reproduce.

I always shower. I work out before and / or after work, for at least 2 hours, and I get really sweaty. After going to the gym I either go to work or get on public transport to go home. I am not afraid of being naked in the locker room, in fact I am a lot less self conscious since starting with the gym. My gym showers are…

Take a day with a good buddy, hit the shops, try shops you wouldn't normally go into, and try on loads. The shops I shop in now are the not the same as the shops I shopped in when fat. You need to be open about colours and styles and just see what works for the new you. Enjoy.

Anyone tried the almond M&M's? do they taste like marzipan? are they worth paying £1.80 for a small bag?
-
Is this Sweets From Heaven? I am despatching a junior member of staff to Bluewater on Saturday to buy almond M&Ms

Jeesh, all my male MFP pals are great guys. I know why some women don't want male friends on MFP, but they are missing out. Its good to have a mix.
-
... and I fell for that one. Well done sir.

Yep, I always shower after a work out. I see women at my gym complete a class and just throw a coat on over their sweaty work out clothes and then hit public transport (gym is in central London and is neither residential nor convenient for parking). Yuck

My favourite is Charbonnel et Walker (http://www.charbonnel.co.uk/), pricy but worth it. I also like Green & Blacks who also do the best chocolate ice cream.

I started lifting 14 months ago, moderately heavy with reps of 15-20 per set. I moved to heavier weights January this year, doing 6-12 reps per set. I currently squat 80 kg (started at 30 kg), deadlift 70 kg (I think I started with 30 kg), and I bench 50 kg flat and 40 kg incline (started with 10 kg). When I started out…

Its not part of a big chain, its 3 mins walk from where I work, its not over subscribed so I never have to wait too long for a bench or squat rack, its a bit worn and not trendy, it has squash courts rather than a pool, and they wash my kit for me every day

I do cheat days, but once or twice a month. I normally time them to fit in with social events, birthdays, Christmas etc. I eat whatever I want and have no problems returning to normal the next day, and never feel guilty. I have found that as time goes by I eat less on these days, and I no longer want / crave certain foods,…

So true, this is what ruined pizza for me :grumble:

I do all your sports, and don't buy any sort of specific sport shoe. The only sport I have specific sport shoes for is running, as I need to protect against the impact of road running. In the gym I use an Asics training shoe which works across all work outs including squash and some treadmill running. You can buy specific…

I recommend either mix up what you are doing, i.e. change how often you eat, change your work outs etc, or just ignore it. Before hitting goal last year, I went through a 3 month plateau and chose to ignore it. I carried on doing what I was doing and ignored the scales. Despite my weight not moving, I dropped a dress size.

I lift 4 times a week and run 6 miles (sometimes longer) once a week. Will send invite.

Is the cat in the French pic a family pet or are they planning to eat it?

I knew I was in shape when I could wear a party dress without wearing support underwear. Amazingly this happened when I was still a UK size 16 (currently a 12). The benefits of lifting weights :drinker:

Most days I do, but I do include 15 mins stretching in that. Some days less (Sunday I run) and some days more (today 50 mins squash 1st thing, and 2 hours in the gym this evening). I do it because I enjoy it, and I mix up my work outs. For me, its better than sitting in front of the tv or going down the pub. I also get to…

I would eat. A few hundred calories on one occasion would not derail progress, of course this is assuming that you already have included your exercise calories in your calorie count for the day.

One of my MFP's posted this morning that he was having snickers on toast, i.e. peanut butter and nutella on toast. This has messed with my mind

Stand in your gym locker room telling someone that you lost loads of weight taking these diet pills which you got from a genuine doctor, but you have to go their house and can only go in and buy the pills if the electric gates are open. Also, the pills make you ratty and you couldn't take them on holiday with you as the…

I tend not to eat the peel, but its optional. I like to have them with Dolcelatte cheese and salad.

I was hoping for sarcasm
