Good morning! Unfortunately, your sister won't help herself until she WANTS to. We all have that "wake up moment" where we go, what the hell am I doing? She clearly hasn't hit that point yet. Until she does, she's not ready to make healthier choices. I know it's difficult as my sister weighs around 350lbs, is a smoker, is…

I just checked, and at 25 weeks I was around a 24lb gain. I'm now 31 weeks and up 31ish...I had a week in the middle where I jumped up 7lbs even though nothing about my food/exercise changed. The other weeks my weight has stayed the same. Our bodies just do what they want whenever they want!

Ohhhhh I check mine nearly every day...I did that with my bridal registries too. I'm too much of a planner to wait for surprises so I just HAVE to know! Plus, it helps to know what's already purchased so we can budget for the items we'll need to buy :) At least that's how I justify it...

BeckyJill - thank you for sharing your story :) congrats on your beautiful little girl!

I'm the type of personality where that would MOTIVATE me to show that douche what I'm made of and prove them wrong. Don't you dare let this person take another second of your happiness away - be proud of what you've accomplished, and use their words to motivate you to reach your goals.

I used muscle milk protein powder before pregnancy and my doctor said it was not safe to continue using it. There are protein powders which are fine, so just take your powder to the OB with you and ask!

I can relate to many of the things you described, and counseling has been the main factor in me turning around my health. I'd encourage you to talk to someone because there is an underlying reason as to why you feel compelled to hide food and binge.

Welcome back! You should check out the group "Fit, Fabulous, and Pregnant" - lots of mamas trying to have healthy pregnancies :) Feel free to add me if you'd like - I'm 30 weeks!
-
One of the reasons I swim less often than I would like is that I don't have a training partner - after years of being on teams and having coaches, I have a hard time getting myself motivated to go to the pool by myself. It's not an excuse if I admit it, right?
-
Woohoooo! Can't wait to hear how it all goes and see pics of your new little one :)

Love love LOVE your sweet pup and am so glad you put up photos! We have a 2 year old german shepherd, so our dogs are probably pretty similar at times :) I think our dog definitely knows I'm pregnant - he is SO protective of me now. My husband has been working night shift lately, and titan will wake me up probably once an…

I've been pretty consistent throughout this pregnancy with my craziness...I haven't had any moments of snapping or being mad or resenting my husband, but I have had plenty of insane neediness moments and bawling for no reason. Sometimes I'll just follow him around the house like a sad puppy because I want to be right next…

I don't know what PUPPS is, so I'm guessing I've never had it :) But, it doesn't sound fun - hope you feel better soon. When is your next OB appt?
-
Well, after hoping my quick gain all of a sudden was "temporary" over the last week, I guess the extra pounds are here to stay. So, I'm up 30lbs at 30 weeks on my doctor's scale.

I felt our baby the first time at 20 weeks, but my placenta is anterior so it apparently takes longer most of the time.

Separate until we got married and joined absolutely everything once married. We never had any disagreements about it and talked frequently about our desired spending habits. I could never be in a marriage where our money is separate - we earn it together and spend it together, as marriage to us means sharing it all. Others…

I don't think you're going overboard - I have a similar type personality to you, and it's driving me nuts that I haven't been able to do as much as I would like. We have our last shower this weekend so I wanted to wait to see everything we got and make decisions on returns/exchanges before I opened/washed anything! I have…

Oh man :( I have just recently started peeing a little when I sneeze, so I can't imagine having bronchitis. Aside from what you're doing now, I guess just make sure you empty your bladder as often as possible? Otherwise, hopefully it stops when you feel better!

Y'all made me feel a trillion times better today, so thank you for the perspective and feel free to remind me of all of this again when I freak out again in a few weeks :) In the meantime, I'm going to take the suggestions from many of you (some of which was posted on my wall) and put the scale away for a bit. I'm still…

my honest opinion is that you're playing with fire - if you absolutely have no other choice and financially can't make it in an apartment from day 1, stay with your parents. but, have a serious sit-down with expectations from both sides (what you and your husband want vs. what your parents want) with the understanding it's…

sooo...after remaining steady for about 2 months, I gained 6-7lbs between last Friday and this morning. I'm 29 weeks and up 30.5lbs now - each day I was hoping it would go away, but it seems to be sticking around. Trying not to panic, but really? 7lbs in 5 days? No swelling, no constipation, nothing - bahhhh! Welcome to…

Mandy - I'm pregnant, but recently have gotten back in the pool for the first time in a year. I, too, have a hard time being motivated to swim alone after swimming on a team for so many years, but the masters program in my city (we only have one) isn't conducive to my schedule. If you want a swimming buddy where we can…

In birth class on Sunday they asked us to all tell one thing we learned in class - my husband said "epidurals are good and no mirrors" hahahaha. He cracks me up!
-
Are you taking a birth class offered through your hospital? That's where I learned most of my information about the process at my hospital and it was pretty helpful. At mine, as long as the baby is breathing properly, they hand the baby to you immediately for skin-to-skin contact and attempt to breastfeed. They do the…

Mine is more specific - I wish every woman in my office would stop asking negative leading questions. For instance, they'll start off kindly with "how are you feeling?" and then quickly move on to "does your back hurt yet? are you sleeping like crap yet? are your feet swollen yet? OH YOU JUST WAIT!" It's frustrating…

The important part is that you are HERE and you came BACK. Your sweet little boy needs his mama in his life, and he needs the very best version of her! That was my motivation when I lost 40lbs last year - my husband and I wanted to start a family, and I wanted to be the best mom I could be for our little one. There are a…

I don't have any advice other than to say I would definitely ask the doctor! I would *think* they would have told you if they were giving you pitocin, but we know that doesn't always happen. Either way, asking will get you an answer :)
-
Many people say their polar FT4 works - mine does not, however. I swim in a bromine pool so the salt concentration may affect the waves
-
Blink - what a frustrating day! I'm glad everything is okay with your little one, but I'm sorry you had to go through the stress of the day with that other doctor. I think your doctor will appreciate knowing what happened while he/she was away, and if I had to guess, I'll bet you aren't the first patient he/she has heard…

Glad to see you here :) Ditto what chickybuns said - just do your best! And you may want to friend some other women in this group as I find it really helpful to keep in touch with pregnant friends every day! After all, we all understand what each other is going through :) Welcome!
