Hey mama! I was in your shoes a year ago. My son is almost 15 months old now and I just stopped pumping at work recently and we still nurse when together. I can tell you that I spent so much energy stressing about pumping, especially those first 6 months when he wasn't on solids yet. I heard of these other moms pumping…

Not having it in the house is key - after I had my son 14 months ago, I didn't do the grocery shopping for awhile, so my husband just didn't buy any. I was at home for a few months and just got out of the habit. After not tasting it for awhile, I had a sip and was amazed that I ever had a diet coke habit.

Mirena IUD here. I've had it about a year with no issues and I really like it. The hormones are much lower than with a pill and it's estrogen-free (estrogen drives my blood pressure up, so I can't use birth control with it).

I didn't get back into regular exercise until I dropped to 1 pump at work (when he was 11 months) and could use the other half of my lunch break for a very quick workout. I would try to fit in walking at night/on the weekend, but even that didn't happen. Just do your best and fit it in when you can't, but remember it does…

what's your lifting schedule?

This happened to us when my son was 3.5 months. Most of the time he just turned away, but sometimes he would arch his back and scream. The ped said reflux and once he was on regular zantac, everything went back to normal. Not saying that's the case here, but just sharing my experience. He's still nursing now at 14 months,…

Go in the morning. If you choose not to wake up, go at lunch. Half an hour is better than excuses after work and not being active at all. And find something you enjoy doing at the gym...don't slave over a cardio machine if you hate it, or whatever it is that your gym offers. If I wait until evening to go, it doesn't get…

I do Stronglifts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday is 30 minutes walking/30 minutes yoga. Thursday just depends on how I'm feeling...if my legs are hurting, I rest. If I'm feeling good, I'll do some incline walking on the treadmill. Saturday and Sunday are active recovery days. That works for me as lifting is my main…

thinking of food in terms of how long you will have to exercise to burn it off is indicative of a bad relationship with food. you should enjoy a moderate portion of pizza bread on occasion and NOT think twice about exercise. food is not the enemy! just don't have a half gallon of ice cream for dessert after your pizza…

Just a thought - by pumping first, you're essentially having your biggest letdown for the pump and not for your baby. He may get frustrated because he wants that fast flow associated with the letdown and he isn't getting it. Has your LC checked for a possible TT or ULT? It's completely exhausting for babies who cannot feed…

I so sorry for your loss. You've had so many ups and down lately it seems, but just remember 10 pounds at 18 weeks is still healthy! My son is 14 months, so feel free to add me if you'd like. Also, check out the group "Fit, Fabulous, and Pregnant" here on MFP. So many wonderful mamas trying to stay healthy!

re: exercise - do what you like to do, what fits into your schedule, and what makes you feel good. the scale "gain" you saw was likely from lifting weights (I am lifting and also experience this on days after I lift). if you enjoy getting out of the house and taking classes in a group environment, then keep it up! if you…

Hey mama! First off, join this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/197-breastfeeding-support It's full of wonderful mamas who are nursing their babies and trying to get healthier in the process. A few already mentioned above that nursing can hinder weight loss in some. My son is 13 months and still nurses very…

I got mine just before my son turned a year old. It coincided with me dropping to 1 pump while at work, although we still nurse 4-5 times outside of work.

mesh bumper here with no issues!

I agree that upping your calories will likely help with your supply. For me, I cannot dip below 2500 calories or I notice a drop in supply (I pump at work, so I know!) and I'm nursing a toddler!

I've had it for a year with no issues. Insertion was a bit painful, but I hadn't healed yet from my tear from childbirth. They inserted mine at 8 weeks pp so my cervix was still not completely closed. I've only had one period so far (I'm still nursing) and it was light with minimal discomfort. Overall, I've been happy with…

Love it!

We did a "little monster" theme and just ordered a few cute monster decorations from Etsy. A friend made my son a small smash cake and everyone else had cupcakes. We kept the food VERY simple since there were quite a few kids there - pizza, goldfish, chips/salsa, and drinks. We had it at our church, and we took toys for…

I had a wonderful pregnancy and delivery, but recovery was very tough for me as I had a third degree tear. They are not at all common, but it took me 6 months+ to be able to do any physical activity. I tell you this so that you know to manage your expectations appropriately - you may recover very quickly, and it may take…

How much milk does your baby drink while you are at work? I pumped 3-4 times while at work and still managed about 14oz total, so your 20 is way ahead of me. You only need what your baby drinks, so I wouldn't worry too much about trying to increase further since 20oz is a lot to begin with.

totally get this :) we've dropped to once at work and it's glorious...now I can fit in a workout on the other part of my lunch break!

My suggestion would be to keep a food journal, but don't track calories, and to weigh once a month until you wean. ETA: the journal will keep you accountable, but not be as time consuming or brain frying as counting calories. I think sometimes taking a step back is good! And, weighing once a month because I've done the…

Jenny - we're also shooting for 2 years nursing and Camden is a year old this month. My husband was initially questioning anything past a year, but I reminded him that any amount of breastmilk will help ward off sickness. So, I told him I would like to nurse through next winter, which would put Camden around 2 years old,…

These are great ideas! Thank y'all so much. I'm going to work on setting some goals today, so I appreciate it. Fittree - that's a good point, and just to make sure I'll get my husband to video for me. I was a college athlete and had a lot of coaching on these lifts, but that was 6+ years ago and my body is very different…

Thank you both! I will definitely check out the calculator. And RDLs don't hurt my knees as much as regular. I have arthritis and squats 3 days a week is pretty hard on them already.

Join this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/1920-fit-fabulous-pregnant- There are wonderful ladies there and lots of helpful information to answer your questions :) I ate maintenance first trimester, +300 in the second trimester, and didn't really log in my third (oops!)

I think she's good without milk based on the diet you described, but you could always double check with your pediatrician. Was the breast milk in a cup cold as well? When we started giving my son cow's milk, I put some in a little dish with some frozen blueberries. I heated it up so it was room temperature and spoon fed…
